Hapimag Lake Berkley Resort3.0 out of 5.0

This is our third or forth stay at the Hapimag. In the past, we had some minor issues but nothing to prevent a future stay. Our visit this time will likely be our last though. It's not that the Hapimag disappointed. But it just hasn't improved on those minor issues we have had in the past. Check in was smooth. The town home was clean and fully stocked. It appears to have received a fresh coat of paint and possibly a new carpet. One of the dresser drawers was broken. We were told they have new ones on order. It's just that the town home is dated. Everything creaks, from the stairs to the shower to the bedsheets. It needs some tlc. The couches are extremely uncomfortable. The beds are hard. And the sheets are paper-like. The shower head wire was frayed. It's the little things that keep adding up. Having said all that, it is very good value. You can't get an air bnb of similar size at that price point. There is no "resort fee" that similar properties charge. It's location is decent and there are several routes you can take to get to the parks. But as our kids get older and we can survive on two rooms instead of three, and all stay on the same floor or room, the Disney area has many other options to choose from.
Stayed here 4 nights with my wife. The two of us got a 6 persons apartment, so lots of space! The park has a nice swimming pool, computers and printers free available for guests! Close to major attractions Disney wirld and Universal studios. Kennedy space center is about 1 hour drive (recommend going here, really nice!). Also close to a couple of Everglades airboat adventure tours. Lots of parking space in front t of apartment.
We liked that the townhouse and pool were clean, the property was well maintained and complimentary coffee sachets and dishwasher pucks were available in the nearby office. The location was a few blocks from the Medieval Castle and made for easy access to Hwy 192 leading to Disney World (20 min away) and Orlando. Disappointments: A couple of the master bedroom drawers were broken enough to discourage their use. The bathtub did not drain very well (took up to 1hr after a shower), but to be absolutely fair we didn't report this to the office. We wished there were recycling containers on the property, but that isn't up to to the individual owners. If we returned to Kissimmee we'd probably try to find a different place. Checkin note: get in touch with the contact number noted in your Booking.com confirmation to arrange for key pick up arrangements. We didn't notice the instructions, but found an envelope outside the office with notes for getting our keys from the lockbox in the same area.
We are Hapimag share holders and return here every year, the staff are wonderful and treat us as family. It is a fabulous place to stay and chill out if you want and it is close enough to all the theme parks.
This is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting all the fun things to do in and around Orlando. This is a gated property, with two beautiful pools to lounge at for sun and water. Our unit was a one bedroom, ground floor, condo. It had a full kitchen, king size bed, and a wonderful screened in porch that was quite and private. Less than five minutes away, was great grocery shopping, eating establishments, and just about every other thing you'd want. My wife is a huge Steinmart shopper, so we went there a couple of times. Also spent the day at Disney World...prepare for sticker shock, but fun none the less. If you are going to Orlando, and want to be away from the crowd, I highly recommend the Hapimag Resort in Orlando. You still have access to the fun stuff, but you get to unwind and relax after a "hard" day.
Hapimag is a nice, quiet place to stay. It's a smaller resort, dated and could use some remodeling, but for the price it was good. The kitchen and laundry room in the house were a plus. The front desk staff were exceptional with everything. Overall if in the area I'd probably stay here again.
We are regulars with Hapimag but first time visitors to this resort here. We enjoyed it truly - it is quiet though very close to lots of shopping and adventure parks etc. but far enough away to relax from busy days out there. We enjoyed hours at the pool and running around Lake Berkley. The house was super equipped and we had everything we needed, incl wash maschine and drier! Staff is friendly and fothcoming and computers with printers to use freely came handy.
Good accomadation , with all the basic facilities. It was clean and tidy. The staff were very welcoming, and answered all of our questions cheerfully. The location was excellent. Handy for the theme parks or further afield.
So let me tell you about this place!! First we kinda found this place by accident...on a different site than we actually ended up booking on! But either way, we were pleasantly surprised! We took vacation from March 24- April 1 which is a little later than we usually do, but much needed to say the least! When you contact the manager, he answers back right away! I wanted to find out about the size of the bed, as all we could see was that it was showing two twins---- He answered right away, stating that there was a KING in the master... the other rooms do have twins, but they were locked off as we only needed the one room! I emailed him again explaining that our flight would not get in until about 10pm and it seemed that their office closed at 7:30pm...again-- he emailed right back letting us know that would be fine and there would be instructions on how to get into the resort and the condo! We got in at 11:30pm, and sure enough: we stopped at the gate, and after explaining who we were to the security guard, we were pleased to find directions to the unit easy enough! All we had to do was to come see them in the morning for the gate remote and another key! Despite the fact that it seems like you are going the wrong direction into the resort, once inside the gates, you feel secure knowing that just because you are Off the Beaten Path, doesn't mean you are short changed in a place to stay! The room we were in was at the back of the complex, so for that it was nice to not have cars going by at all hours; however with that being said-- the back yard--- area--- well---- not really so much. This was the biggest let-down for me! On the one hand, glad I didn't have to see other vacationers, but it seemed less taken care of than the other "back yards"... and the little balcony off the master bedroom was over the back yard, but also looked into the back yards of the homes that were behind the resort. So... if that doesn't bother you, then that was really the biggest "problem" with the place. IF we go back (we have no reason not to, other than we like to always choose a different place), we would probably request a pool room, or a unit that is on the side--- where there isn't anyone in the back yard. The Units themselves--- YES! very nice--- fully equipped-- all you could really want/need. The layout (of each I assume) is K/D/L and laundry, 1/2 bath on 1st floor. Plenty of dishes/ flatware/cookware, etc, bottle opener, strainer, coffee pot, fancy little espresso maker thing--- didn't use, etc...auto icemaker was nice--- little laundry room, with W/D, iron and board/ etc! Plenty of linen and towels! The pool area--- there were two, but we only used one as we were the farthest we could be to the second-- was very nice! Never had to get there hoping for a place in the shade, and no disappointment of not having a chair! It was NEVER crowded! Like I said--- IF we were to do again, we'd definitely try for a poolside room! It was NEVER noisy! Finally--- Location! Less than 20 min to Disney, SeaWorld, Universal! In middle of state, Kissimmee is about 1:15 hours from Eastward beaches and 1:45 hours from westward beaches... So plan a day for that! Daytona is about 1.5 hours away. You could WALK, if you wanted, to Medieval Times! There is a 24 hour Walmart also walking distance if you wanted! There--- with all THAT being said! Yes!!! We'd go again! The staff was awesome--- checked in and out without any hassle--- oh, our check out had to be at 4am (for a 7am flight), so we did all we needed to do the night before! Checked out the same way we checked in basically! Great place to go! Clean! Efficient!
Friendly and quick check in. Small place with everything you need. These condo units are connected to a housing subdivision. The subdivison and the condo units are gated and fenced allowing for very good security. Walking is something we all do here because we feel so secure. You can walk the subdivision and walk around lake Berkley that is located at the end of the subdivision. The birds nest on the island in the lake and afford great photography and viewing any time of the day. A play ground and sand box help children spend time enjoying the outdoors. You are located 1/4 mile from a Walmart and 1 mile from a SAM'S club with every other store you can think of in between. The pool here is small and great for adults but not too enjoyable for teenagers. There is a ping pong table and tennis court for your use. You are close enough to Disney but far enough to not have all the traffic. We always enjoy our stay here. Full kitchens with laundry in each unit.
