We arrived at 1:30 am. We couldn't find the hotel for a while and had a local man look it up on his cell. My husband called the hotel and the man at the desk said no problem, they were open. There wasn't a sign or any hotel name on the walls any where, so we were not sure if we found it or not. Went inside nobody was at the desk, we called thinking that if the desk clerk stepped away he would forward calls to his cell or someone else would pick up. The clerk did leave a note "be back in 5 min". More like 20 min and we gave up and went to the first place we saw, the Ramada (what a dump that was) We came back to the Altamonte in the morning and explained what happened. The two ladies plus the lady mgr. were very helpful. We found that they had no reservation for us at first. We booked through Orbits and they have a record of it. The hotel in general needsTLC, the breakfast could use a little work too. Hope the new owners will invest in her to restore her to her former quality. Good service displays itself best when problems arise and the 3 ladies did a great job!

This is horrible hotel and not for those who are traveling for work or business Horrible toilet Let over soap Bed bugs Felt unsafe Outside carpet is awful felt like vomiting Bad tub is worst Shower does not work No lights

This hotel is outdated but the price was excellent. There is no name on the hotel so it was horrible trying to find it. One day we asked for extra towels and was told that a third party is responsible for cleaning and supplying towels for the hotel. Once we received the towels we had to ask for our room to be cleaned, okay that was fine to she did a good job. But at most hotels there is something you can hang on the door to communicate with hotel staff. So you have to keep calling the desk or walk to the front desk pestering the staff to accommodate you. The staff was nice and tried to make us feel comfortable as best they could. The best part of our stay was swimming at the pool, the water was cold and the waterfall was great. Lounge chairs at the pool was old and needs replaced. Overall for $43/night you won't find anything close to that price in this area. It's easy access to I-4 and minutes away from food and shopping the Altamonte mall is minutes away.

I stay at this hotel on APRIL 23 TO APRIL 24 2017. AND THIS IS A DECISION THAT I WILL FOREVER REGRETS. THEY HAVE A DEPOSITE POLICY WHERE THEY HOLD $125 FROM YOUR BANK AND IT'S BEEN ALMOST A WEEKEND THAT MONEY SIT ON PENDING TRASACTION AND MY BANK SAID THAT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR ONE MONTH TO POSSIBLY GET THAT MONEY BACK. The STAFF ARE VERY RUDE

No sign at all to identify name of hotel Rude Staff Closet was off the hinges Paper towel plugged peep hole Hole in wall plastered and repsinted, but was reopening TV fuzzy Pillow was so wormed you could feel cotton balling up Pool dirty and cold

They have no sign anywhere. You have no idea that is the place you are looking for. Very sweet front desk staff. LONG trek to our room. Furthest from the desk as possible. This place is a classic but it really needs a power washing. Clean paint. Very stained public walkway carpet and stained room carpets need to go. Upholstered furniture needs to be recovered. Staff needs to clean behind the bathroom door. Ewwwww. Pool needs to be vacuumed. I have a whole list.

Worst experience trying to check in. Credit card expired the day before check in so we asked is we could use a debit card or even cash for the deposit. The answer was no all the way around. Asked for a manager to maybe accept alternative deposit option such as debit card or cash deposit. Was denied a manager and advised that the manager will tell us the same thing so there was no need to get one. Without being able to speak to a manager, we ended up leaving and wasting $75.00 on a non refundable hotel room that we couldn't check into.

We had picked this hotel based on location and price mainly. We wanted to visit Mount Dora and this was about 30 minutes away while still being pretty central to a few other things. The listing gives a much nicer idea than the property actually is. First, the hotel was owned by Howard Johnson and they still have the old name up so we were going in circles for a few minutes trying to find it until we finally went in and asked and turns out it's the same hotel. Other guests came behind us with the same confusion. The entire property is VERY dated and needs remodeling. The only good thing about our experience was the front desk help. Even with the gentleman at the front desk upgrading us to an executive room, the experience would get a one star. Don't want to know what a regular room looks like!

Pool is always cold Lamp wasn't working Uncomfortable pillows

Dirty looking carpet, room smelled bad. Roaches along floor. Very poor experience other than staff being friendly

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days 4 nights. I had some Jewelry stolen from me by the housekeeping I left my room or Friday morning and my jewelry was in my room on the desk. Saturday night they went missing. I reported to the staff and nothing was done about it. I was even told by the manage the she could not tell who cleaned my room that she knew that they stole my stuff. I am a paying guest and I have a right to my privacy I should have a total stranger going through my stuff. I will never stay at this hotel again

Had difficulty finding the hotel because of the name change. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke. The hotel had a beautiful pool.

Con: Rude and not helpful front desk man. No towels, wash clothes or extra sheets for pull out sofa. No coffee maker(should be part of room). Dirty bathroom, bathroom sink leaked onto floor so bad we had to move rooms. Tv not the best picture and limited cable. Pool not heated. Pro: nice and helpful older woman breakfast attendant. Breakfast included in stay. Beautiful pool area, comfortable bed

One has to think, what would it take/how bad would a place be- if they can't live to the low standards of a Howard Johnsons. This is that place. Missing even most of the awning covers outside, still has all of the HoJo signage (except one side where its missing). You'll be greeted by a young lady with attitude and bad hospitality skills (the take a number complaint grenade sign prominently displayed lets you know what they think immediately). Two elevators, one is permanently broken at the far end for ultimate inconvenience and the other operating with two month expired license on display. The bed is the only plus to your ordeal if you still choose to take this mission, as it has recent mattresses with added topping. Bring your own pillows as it appears they stole the airplane's tiny pillows to use in the rooms. One would think the pool would be the big plus as you see it in the photos. Yes the waterfall works. About 70% of the chairs are broken, broken pool tile greets you as you enter (third step will cut your foot) and you won't notice the rest of the missing tile as the pool is cold and dirty with algae and leaf debris as they do not clean it (not even with automatic cleaner and nets at side are display only). Forego 'breakfast' as minimalist is done to the extreme, to the point that coffee is the shade of tea. Your surroundings have you right off I-4, but on the 'other' side not where the good/okay hotels are- but where the fenced in abandoned ones are.

Farmacia locales de comida cerca extrategico para vacacionar no esta tan cerca de los parques pero comido para pasar la noche

I was upset about towels. my daughter and i had two towels to share, we actually used one on our adventures outside of the hotel but we are honest and brought it back. when we came back with this towel, there was still only one towel in the room. how does that work? what if we used the pool? we had to share one clean towel to jump in the pool and take showers. I understand keeping costs down but that is what my deposit is for if we dont return the towels, which we did. The continental breakfast was rough. Only prepared item there was boiled eggs. everything else was pretty much starch (bread and cereal) and there were a dozen signs throughout the restaurant about not taking food back to the rooms. Ok, I get it, but two signs on the same exit door? Again, that might be what a deposit is for, please offer some microwaveable protein items at the very least. The front desk people were awesome and the cleaning staff did a good job.

There were roaches in all the rooms and I had an all day on the phone experience trying to get refunds. Still don't have the last one refunded.

Not bad but Had to give a 250.oo deposit for been a local guess

Couldn't believe all the fine print rules... I will stick with my 4 and 5 star hotels.
