The property was super clean, modern and the communication was great. There was an issue with the washing machine not working due to prior renters but they contacted repairmen and compensated us for the inconvenience.

Great Two Weeks on Oak Island!

West End Gulls is an awesome place to spend some quiet and comfortable time at the beach. The location is very convenient with great ocean views from the house and deck. Easy beach access. The house is set up very well and has everything you need to enjoy your time at the beach! We will return!

Terrific Cottage

Great vacation week on the sand. Cottage is newly remodeled and perfect in every way. Fresh and clean with everyting we needed.Dee was very responsive, sent a welcome message and checked to see if we needed anything.

Exactly What We Wanted

The house was very clean. That’s important to me. The owner communicated whenever I needed. We were just steps from the beach. I have absolutely no complaints. I highly recommend this place.

Updated property. Very clean.

Owners have thoughtful amenities. I would recommend that they provide local tv channels and look at regulating hot water in showers. Also, should put up house address numbers. We had great stay and would do it again.

Beachfront, newly renovated house with well-stocked kitchen

Area was very quiet and right at the ocean. We enjoyed the comfortable furniture and mattresses and the well-stocked kitchen. Washer & dryer being under the house instead of in the house was the only downside. Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy!

An oasis

This stay was perfect. Fantastic location. Peaceful serene. Outdoor shower was very useful for showering off the beach. The washer and dryer under the house was nice for trying to keep the sand out but sligtly inconvenient if your just trying to do routine laundry. Memory foam mattresses through out. Bunk bed was large enough even for our teens, very sturdy! Great vacation home!

Amazing Ocean Front Home!

Excellent location and beautiful ocean views. We checked in quickly without any issues. The host had complimentary snacks and drinks when we arrived. We have paid a lot more for a lot less in the past. This home exceeded our expectations! The house is perfect for enjoying a day playing/fishing on the beach. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

Oak Island House Rental

House location is great, right on the beach and check-in process was smooth. Recent renovations and upgrades are great. Laundry area is below house and access is from outside deck facing ocean. Listing was not clear about beach access location. Asked just prior to renting early in 2024 and host indicated house had it’s own access but not the case, need to use public access. First night when lights went out the cockroaches appeared. Reached out to VRBO host and all we got in return was “we recently had exterminators at house”. We have rented a number of older houses from outer banks to Holden Beach and never experienced this. Maybe it is common, but expected the host to assist with dealing with the issue. Told us that we could find traps/spray at local hardware store. Didn’t even offer to reimburse us for dealing with the issue. If you rent this house bring spray/traps to deal with. We had to deal with cockroaches every night, kept a number of lights on every night in an attempt to keep them away.

Very well-kept cottage on the beach

The owners keep this property in top shape. The interior is modern and clean, and everything works as it should. The kitchen is fully furnished, though somewhat inexpensively, but I don't ding the owners for this since it is nearly impossible to keep nice things in a rental like this. I cooked several meals and never had to look far for what I needed. The hot water is hot, the refrigerator is cold, and the air conditioning system has no problem keeping up with the hottest days. The deck is ample, and there are some beach items underneath the house. The washer and dryer work great. Ideally they would be located within the house, but it's already on the cozy side so it's really no bother taking it downstairs and back up. The beds are extremely comfortable in my opinion. My wife and I liked it so much that we are asking what brand and model they are so that we can look into acquiring one like it for our home. With the erosion control policies that are now at most North Carolina beaches, we can no longer walk straight out to the beach from the back deck, but this house is only one house from the public access path, and so walking to the beach from the front door of the house is maybe a two-minute walk to get your toes wet. The host, Dee, was very easy to reach and responded quickly whenever I wrote to ask her a question about anything. Want fresh local seafood? Check out Haag and Sons. Wonderful long weekend stay

My husband, dog and I enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and we appreciated the fully stocked Keurig and treats. Additionally, the beds were very comfortable. The view from the deck was beautiful and was so convenient right on the beach. We hope to be back!

Awesome Rental at Oak Island West End Gulls

This was our best rental experience by far at Oak Island/Sunset Beach, N.C.! The house was newly renovated and very clean! It was right on the beach next to public access. We were able to bring our small dog which was a big plus! Communication from the host, Dee, was outstanding! Check in was seamless and easy and she responded immediately to our questions. All linens and towels were provided which made us very happy since at another rental we ended up having to go buy everything! There were even extra toiletries soap shampoo and toothbrushes which was great since my wife forgot hers! They even provided the K-Cups for the coffee machine! I highly recommend this rental the price was reasonable and we intend to come back sometime!

Absolute Gem! And What a View!!!!!

Beautiful house. Wonderful layout for families. Kitchen was fully equipted and well stocked. Bathrooms were the same. Immaculate - which for a pet friendly rental is amazing. Beach access could not have been better. We lived on the deck - What a view! We had a storm one day and with that view it was truly awesome. Dee was a fantastic host. Easy to reach and incredibly responsive. We will be back.

Perfect getaway

We loved staying here. Cozy and cute with an amazing view of the ocean. Equipped with everything we needed. We loved being so close to the water, the beds were super comfy and overall very clean. Great communication from Dee. We definitely want to return.
