It's a lovely hotel right in Old Alexandria, close to quaint shops, the water and the Metro to visit D.C.

I loved the location of the hotel. I loved the complimentary wine hour. My only complain was the lighting in the bathroom, it was Very dim, no way to brighten it up.

enjoyed the perks that come w/ the hotel including Happy Hour in the lobby - gives one a change to meet other guests. Hotel even provided a humidifier which makes it so much easier to sleep at this time of year.

There were a few small problems with my room. One of the tvs and the phone weren't working properly but the staff was very accommodating and compensated me for those problems. It's a lovely hotel and the staff is amazing! The attached restaurant was very good and the bartenders were super friendly. My room was wonderful as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights during inauguration with 2 teenagers. We all had a great time. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and great location. We were not more than a couple blocks in either direction to the places we were planning to shop (my bridal party was picking out dresses!). They had a wine reception for us the evening we checked in with pizzas made at their restaurant as snacks. The staff was genuine and nice, I was showing one lucky lady at the front desk all of the dresses I had tried on, LOL. She was good enough to let me talk her ear off! And the food there is excellent. We went to their "tasting room" restaurant and got some delicious mussles!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. Staff was very helpful during our stay. They offered wine, coffee, and a snack every evening. Wedding venue was awesome with all employees being very attentive to all our needs. Food was very good and service was prompt. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bed was awesome and comfortable. Jose, the bellman was very helpful with directions and luggage. Jeremy, front desk was always helpful and very friendly. We would not hesitate to stay at this location.

Quiet, mellow stay for 3 days which was just what I needed. Close (but not too close) to the action on King Street. The front desk staff was great and the overall the hotel itself was clean and felt very safe. I was there on business and didn't use the spa facilities. The only things that made me scratch my head - and these are admittedly small details but still, at this price - was the quality of the free internet (as a Kimpton's Reward member) which was basically email-only only without attachments (which would never go through.) The other thing that surprised me was the basic cable-only. Lastly, I think I was in a handicap room which is the only reason I can think of for the non-detachable sliding shower wand that was waiste-high maximum. The overhead shower head was non-adjustable from what I could determine but still decent. One other thing, and this is no fault of the hotel per se, but in the morning a truck would arrive in the back of the hotel and drop off a huge empty dumpster which sounded like a bomb going off. I believe part of the hotel was being renovated although I did not see nor was disturbed by any of that work, and once completed I'm sure the activity in the back of the hotel will be quiet and peaceful. All in all, I would stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to my friends and family.

This was my first visit to the DC area and am so pleased to have chosen to stay here. The staff were friendly and accommodating to insure I had a pleasant stay. My room was relaxing, quiet and three wonderful windows to stream in light from the courtyard. I spent an entire day shopping and exploring the area around the hotel - great shops and restaurants. So convenient, so clean and I felt really safe (which is important as I tend to travel on my own). The spa treatments that I scheduled were fantastic and upon my next trip to this area, I will most certainly stay here. I went to the Washington Mall area on one of the days - such an easy uber/taxi ride. Perfect short vacation!

It was beautiful, and we were upgraded to a suite, which was fantastic. Only drawback is the heat wasn't working properly so it was 67 degrees the whole time.

Hotel is very close to public transportation. Has a very warm feeling. Very clean with an excellent staff.

The hotel was great, the only thing I will say it needs to improve is the service at the front desk. Both females at the front desk didnt make you feel welcome. No smiles, no detailes with the guest at all. When I left she didnt say nothing like thank you for staying with us to give you an example.

The hotel was great that's why I return each year, in a wonderful area. The staff always goes above and beyond to make your stay easy, from the main entrance on the street to the front desk, they are there for you!!!

Had a great stay at the Lorien. Best location on King St. Two awesome restaurants. Outstanding service. Highly recommend!

overall pleasant, but price is too steep. Hotel overall was clean

This hotel puts you in Alexandria and near the DC Metro line, so you can explore both easily. There is a Dunkin Donuts 2 blocks away as well, so you can pick something up on your way out. The rooms are modern and comfy, with most having balconies.

The Kimpton Lorien is a great place to stay. We stayed 5 nights while visiting our son and it is a great location in Old Alexandria. It is close to the Metro station and you can walk to restaurants, shops, the water, etc. We ate at the Brabo Tasting Room for a light dinner and for breakfast. The hotel had evening wine that was very good. It has a nice patio out front where we loved to sit in the beautiful weather while we were there. We loved our visit there.

I only stayed for one night but I wish I could have stayed longer! Great cozy hotel with friendly staff. Close to restaurants and the waterfront.

I booked a King bed and got two doubles. No real discussion . Just an explanation that was all that they had. I had to be at a dinner for out of town guests, so, I did not have time to look elsewhere. I would not go back to this hotel. Dr. Bursich

Very romantic! The staff were so unbelievably pleasant and the room service was divine.
