5/5 Excellent
"We absolutely loved the giant view and the efficiency of our tidy and swank room. It was compact yet expansive because of the natural light and tall ceilings. The furnishings feel lush and the light blocking screen was extremely effective. I highly recommend. My only qualm was the lack of pillow variety in regards to bedding."
"We were in Newport to work on the SSV Corwith Cramer in drydock and chose to stay at The Pell. While not in the heart of Newport, the location is only a short drive away. The gentleman at the front desk was welcoming and kind, especially when we asked for additional keys because we'd left ours in the room.
Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. It was a little odd, however, that it had a king bed - usually something two people would reserve - but only had one chair at a small table. Was one chair simply missing? The shower area was lovely, but would benefit from having a built in hand rail or fold down seat for guests, especially for older guests.
We noted that beginning with April 1 bookings the Pell is adding a $20 fee for amenities. Unless the fee is optional - unlikley - this seems to be yet another example of a business adding a fee for services many guests won't use.
In spite of the few negatives, we highly recommend this hotel and will happily revisit it.

"This was a one night stop over on the way to Boston. The hotel was great, lovely big room and spacious hotel. Valet parking was a plus. Got a good nights sleep in a lovely room and staff were great. Would definitely return."
