Very pleased. Will return. Clean friendly and good value!

As most visitors, ny daughter & I stayed while visiting my son in the Navy. Check in smooth & speedy. Room was clean, but had this weird odor amost like bleach (could be worse lol). Breakfast was very nice, the attendant in the breakfast area was AMAZING! So friendly! We did not need to use the amenities, however- the pool is closed & the amount of scum on it screams that it has bed closed a while. The workout room was closed as well & the ice machine on our floor was not working, nor was the vending machine near the lobby. This did not bother our stay as we just needeca place to lay our head at night & shower in the morning!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was close to a power plant but that was no problem for us. Great one night stay

This hotel is conveniently located near Old Dominion University and MUCH better price than the downtown Norfolk hotels. We had a clean room, comfortable bed, and a surprisingly good hot breakfast. Too bad we didn't find this place sooner now that my daughter has already graduated.

We went to pick our son up who is stationed at Norfolk. The last time we went down to visit him the hotel we stayed at was a dump. It was so bad that this time during the drive from NY to VA I kept reminding myself and my husband that it was only for one night. Well, The Hampton Inn was a pleasant surprise. It is unbelievably clean and organized and all of the staff members that I encountered were very pleasant. The room was nice and quiet which I never find in hotels. Usually you can hear people in the hall and surrounding rooms, and even ice machines have kept me awake. I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone even though the question below only allows you to pick one type of traveler.

I have stayed here before to see my son when he is on leave.

We weren't looking for a vacation destination - just a clean, comfortable place to sleep while visiting our daughter at ODU. It fit the bill.

I stayed one night. Quiet floor. The room had a weird smell when I entered but I think it was from the cleaning chemicals. Everything was clean and the bed felt great! This is right by Naval Station Norfolk and you have easy access to the freeways. I think it's more expensive than it should be but it's the summer and prime vacation time, so prices will go up.

This was a pleasant hotel experience. The only improvements would be to use real eggs in the omelets at the breakfast. The seating area was lovely and the TV was a nice touch..however, the area was directly in front of the front desk and about 6 feet away from where I checked in. That was a little uncomfortable.

Our family stayed here while attending my daughter's graduation from ODU. The rooms were very clean, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the hotel was relatively quiet considering they were sold out for the night. It was a close and easy drive to ODU. We did not have chance to use the pool but others seemed to be enjoying it quite a bit.

Very nice hotel, it had great pool, and breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our second visit.

the only thing I didn't like was that there isn't a fridge in every room. Only the king rooms.

It was a good stay and the staff was very friendly.

I was visiting my daughter at ODU. Location very nice. I felt safe, desk staff very helpful.

My daughter and I stayed for two nights while visiting Old Dominion University to register for classes. I look forward to staying there when we visit our daughter during her first year (and future years) of college. The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast was satisfying. We enjoyed a dip in the pool.

I was in Norfolk visiting my boyfriend for the weekend. He is in the Navy so the location was excellent. It's not too far from shopping and dining as well as the interstate. The hotel was clean and nice but it would have been nice to at least have a minifridge to keep your drink in. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. The housekeeper forgot to leave clean washcloths so that was slightly inconvenient. Overall, for my needs, it was nice.

We had a great time. Clean everything. Excellent big breakfast...all free. Rates are extremely reasonable. Great employees who treat you as family members. All you ex-sailors..this is the place to arrange your re-union. Call [...]. She was very helpful. Thanks to [...], and others. May I add...Call Carey Transportation to help you to get on base to see your ship. They did the impossible.

The hotel had no running water from the hrs of 9pm-6am[...]

Hotel was very clean. If you're wanting to stay somewhere to visit someone @ the Navy Base, this is perfect. 1/2 mile to Pier 5!!!! Nice pool and good breakfast. The only problem I had was w/ the hairdryer but we made it work.

Stayed for the 4th of July weekend. It was only about a 25minute drive to VA Beach. The hotel front desk staff and breakfast crew were wonderful. One housekeeper in particular was unwilling to give us fresh towels on the morning of check out-my only complaint. All else was nice, location is very easy to get to.
