Great experience at the Library Hotel. Would recommend to anyone.

Really enjoyable, will be returning. Great location for all out activities.

The hotel is superior as far as staff, location and breakfast. One thing to note is the mattresses tend toward the hard to medium. If you like soft, be sure to mention it to the staff and they will accommodate you. The rooms are well done and typically small, which is the norm is Manhattan. If you haven't stayed in midtown Manhattan be aware of the size when making your plans.

I arrived early so they sent to me the 2nd floor lounge where I had coffee and snacks until my room was ready. That set the tone for the whole stay. I met with my agent up in the lounge and we worked for several days together all in the lounge. The staff was marvelous and the location magical.

Although the staff was excellent and the location very good, it fall short on room size [very small] and a lousy television [both reception and size -- noticeable especially because we were very interested in the US Open]. I felt over $400/night with taxes was an excessive rate. I would only recommend it with a caveat - see below.

Great. Especially the staff. The room while a queen was small but the air-conditioning was fabulous on a very hot new york day. the amenities top notch

First time at the Library and I won't stay anywhere else in the future. The staff is friendly (all of them!), the room comfortable and nicely appointed. The breakfast bar is so good and a great way to save money. As is the wine and cheese at 5pm and coffee/water/sweets provided all day. Just a wonderful wonderful hotel.

We had a wonderful stay! We have never felt so pampered. You offer so many personal touches and seemed to anticipate our needs. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast and the wine and cheese reception every night was an extremely pleasant way to begin our day and unwind in the evening. The themed rooms are fun. We also enjoyed the 14th floor with reading room and the delightful outside garden area. My husband's physician recommended the Library hotel and we plan to send him a thank you note! Many thanks for making our NYC vacation memorable. Nancy and Don Olson

The hotel featured a great location in the Manhattan by Grand Central Station, but the rooms were very small and not very well appointed compared to other 3-star and 4-star hotels I have stayed in on previous trips. Exceptional service and a great outside deck/ bar/ reading room on the roof. I think this hotel could offer more competitive pricing for the size of the rooms and other amenities. Finally, the service staff was very warm and helpful.

This hotel really understands the term "hospitality". The continental breakfast spread was quite expansive and delicious and was serviced by two very pleasant and capable staff members. It even included fresh cappuccinos or lattes and newspaper choices. The wine and cheese reception every evening was equally nice. I was surprised that few guests thought to tip at either of these very nice daily events.Had they gone across the street to Starbuck's for a latte and muffin the bill would have been $6 - still no tip to this pleasant and friendly staff? I also liked that they cleared and cleaned the tables quickly and so thoroughly. Bed turn down at night included chocolates and bottled water was complimentary in the room. Around the corner from Grand Central and walking distance to theaters, Bryant Park, 30 Rock, the Empire State and more. Perfect location. I will definitely go back to this hotel. The room was exactly as described and shown in the pictures on their site - small but adequate and very clean. I really liked this spot.

i was visiting the town for my business and had some tours of pubs and clubs at nite. The problems comes from the bad sound insulation. The windows are really not sound proof and the door as well. you can hear the garbage trucks and the city noise for the whole time you stay there. it is really hard to get a rest. the TV is really small and the quality of the picture is bad. Sunday morning was the worst as i wanted to have a rest from the night before. But no luck, the Iranian Parade was planned. Of course, nobody has prevented me. I had to change the pickup from the taxi to the airport and i could not have my rest. Nobody at the reception was interested and i did not get any discount.

Friendly and attentive staff. Great midtown location. Unique rooms and wonderful continental breakfast.

I've stayed in 5 different hotels all over Manhattan. This one by far has been my best experience. Comfortable beds, nice decor, very clean, good bathrooms, even the small rooms are very roomy for New York, and how can you go wrong with complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary wine & cheese?

very nice hotel, small rooms but spotless

This hotel is perfect location for mid-town activities. Good cont. brkfst, before dinner wine and cheese, daily newspapers, friendly staff. Wish they offered rooms with two beds... and possibly softer mattress....but everything they do offer is top knotch.

I enjoyed every minute staying in Library Hotel. nice room, superb service, very helpful staff, and wine and cheese at evening is so sweet :)

We loved the delicious breakfasts and Wine and Cheese hours in the reading room. It was fun to be able to pick out which Dewey Decimal system room we wanted -- the staff was very accommodating.

It was a great location, as we were going to the theater and it was a close walk to Times Square. It had a wonderful theme, with all the books and so on and the rooms were lovely. We were there for our anniversary and all of the desk staff wished us a happy anniversary and even left us a bottle of champagne and glasses in the room with a nice note. The roof bar was great, the continental breakfast was perfect even had espresso. I'd stay here again without a hesitation and recommend it to any friend.

The overall theme of the hotel was so clever and cute. Each room had its own library theme, including the books to match. The staff was hospitable and sharp. The hotel was five star, but didn't feel too modern to the point where it was impersonal--it still had that quaint feeling. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I accidentally lifted the shower drain and there was hair in there, which totally grossed me out.

Overall nice hote, but a little pricey for the size of the room. Also, elevators were broken at two different times and had to walk up three flights of stairs.
