Meh, not exactly a 'boutique' experience.
Alright, so we hit up The Strand for a Myrtle Beach getaway, and honestly, it was pretty "meh." First off, don't let the "boutique resort" tag fool you too much. The rooms felt a bit dated, and yeah, some even had a funky smell – like mold or just old and musty. Not exactly the fresh ocean air vibe you're hoping for.Housekeeping was a bit hit or miss, so don't expect daily perfection. The beds were surprisingly hard, which wasn't ideal after a long day of, well, doing nothing on the beach. And speaking of the beach, while the access is great, the hotel itself felt a little too crowded, especially around the single pool and hot tub. Kids were practically using the hot tub as a splash pad, which made it impossible to actually relax. Plus, they've got all these rules posted, but it seemed like no one was actually enforcing them, so things got a bit chaotic.Elevators were also a pain – super slow, and it felt like one was always out of commission. Not fun when you're on a higher floor. Parking wasn't amazing either, pretty dark in the garage and tight for bigger cars.Overall, it's not the worst place ever, especially if you just need a place to crash near the beach. But if you're looking for something genuinely nice and well-maintained with good service and a truly relaxing atmosphere, you might want to keep looking.
