Great pet friendly hotel. Very friendly staff especially Mr Jolly at the front desk. It was a very short walk to the beach. I would highly recommend this location. I will be back soon.

Room had mold in the duct by the shower with no ventilation available. Room seemed to be outdated and amenities were very scarce. Went to breakfast just one of the mornings we were there and they ran out of most items.

We've stayed here before and had similar great experience. Beds at La Quinta are always amazing, closed to the beach, Broadway at the Beach, and Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse. Quiet, clean. Just what you need.

Overpriced, Unsafe, and Unclean – Avoid This Hotel

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay. The parking lot was broken and poorly maintained, which immediately set the tone. The hotel itself was not clean, and the room was in unacceptable condition — it lacked basic essentials like blankets. When I called the front desk, I was told they might bring one over if any were left, as if I was being done a favor for a basic necessity. The room cleanliness was so poor that I genuinely felt uncomfortable and worried about the potential presence of pests. The bathroom had no shampoo, conditioner, body wash, or lotion — amenities that should be standard at this price point. Additionally, the property felt unsafe, especially for a family stay. There were suspicious individuals loitering in the parking lot, which made us feel uneasy and on edge. Overall, this hotel is severely overpriced for what it offers. I expected a basic, clean, and safe environment, and unfortunately, none of those expectations were met. Wish I had some photos to share.

Coffee maker was crap. The plastic basket for the coffee itself would not stay in place. I had to physically hold it in place while the coffee brewed. Electrical outlets are inconveniently located… and there were no USB outlets in the room. Let’s talk Wi-Fi: This alone will be a future determination factor when I plan my next Myrtle Beach visit. I honestly had faster internet speed on dial-up connections in the 1990’s. It was a joke! There needs to be built-in USB outlets.

Waste of money

The bathroom was not that clean. The towels were so thin you couldn’t get dry, there was only one tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. We learned more from the staff member checking in the person checking in next to us than the staff member checking us in. Instead of being so adamant about being a non smoking hotel and making you sign paperwork to that fact, maybe the staff should advise the guests not to hold loud conversations between the hours of midnight to 6AM. The free breakfast was a joke. I’ll never stay at a La Quinta again!!

While most of the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is in need of some updates repairs. The elevators are small and very shaky and loud. Our room and bathroom was quite small and the walls are very thin. I was woken up at night (2:30-3:30) for over an hour b/c of neighboring room's loud explicit activity. During the day and in the evenings you can hear dogs barking several rooms down and on floors above since the hotel is pet friendly. Our carpet also smelled like dog pee. The wifi was very weak all week and the ice machines on the main level and 2nd level (where we stayed) were out of order. Some of the staff seemed annoyed at times by the guests or at their coworkers especially at breakfast time. The breakfast was decent, but the tables didn't get cleaned after people got up so it was hard to find a clean place to eat. We didn't use the pool or the fitness room, but those both looked nice. The washers and dryers work really well. Overall, the hotel is average at best. It's not a place we would stay again.
