Enjoyed my short stay. Aqua Inn will be my choice of place to return to in Myrtle Bch. SC. Staff was great and knew the area very well.
Clean but could use a makeover, starting with the carpets, repairing of the worn out doors, and removal of that oooogly mustard colored stucco on the walls. Nice and cooperative staff. Nice kitchenette, with large refrigerator and balcony with an ocean view. Very good stairwell. We liked that the steps were nicely spaced, which made it easy for kids and older folks to climb and descend. The bad: The hotel is across the street from a bar/grill that is used by motorcyclists and boneheads in pickup trucks who like to "gun" their loud muffler or straight-pipe engines to impress each other. I was told they do this mainly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights until the bars close. The noise was horrible and we were unable to get to sleep. Don't waste your time complaining to the staff or calling the police. The staff can't do anything and the police appear helpless. We would recommend that visitors request a room facing the alley. But as for us, we are going to follow the crowd and stay in Conway, SC next time.
The location of this hotel was absolutely phenomenal. Cleanliness was alright, and the staff was great. Nothing to complain about.
Check in was not pretty. The rooms were not ready and there were no available carts to use. Needless to say it was a long wait. At the price of the hotel room the room should have been ready. The second item was a surprise extra fee that was attached. This was explained as an extra fee (O.R.B.I.T.Z fee) that no one seemed to mention before hand.
This was a great place, looked like a new hotel. The rooms had kitchens which we didn't need, but was great to have in case. It was a family weekend, my sister's family was a last minute addition, we asked and received a joining rooms. It was great, having that door connected to the rooms, saved on running all over the hotel. (Which in the past has been a problem.) The only item of issue is the $14.00 resort fee. What is that about it was just a hotel, I didn't see anything that classified it a RESORT. This is used by a lot of hotel to tack on additional $$$$. I factor the fee into the price of the room anyway. This is now our go to place, we are planning a return in March.
