We reserved a room 3 weeks before and the room was unavailable. Worst experience ever... Now we're having to share a king bed at the hotel next door... The people working at the front were not helpful what so ever. I can't explain how angry my mother most be now.

The Magnolias Bar and Grill was excellent. Provided the right atmosphere, could talk and visit with family. Food was above hotel quality; recommend quesadillas. Yashika is the bar tender making good thongs happen.Excellent service!

I stayed as this Holiday Inn while attending professional military school at Maxwell AFB. Lodging reservations were made for me, and the rest of my classmates, through Maxwell. We were not obligated to stay at this particular hotel but a lot of us did because the reservation had already been made and it was one less thing we had to worry about; however, a majority of us would not have, if management had been forthcoming from check in. I gave my rewards card to the front desk clerk and she swiped it but failed to tell me we would not receive IHG points for our stay because we utilized the "group" rate. FALSE!!! We all paid individually and utilized the gov't rate. The difference being with gov't rate, we would have been credited with points for 26 nights, and with group rate we got 0. IHG has no issues giving everyone their earned points, the Holiday Inn Montgomery Airport South management simply needs to change our status from group rate to gov't; however the staff refuses to do that!!! They said we don’t get points because of everything they "did for the students" (i.e. free breakfast, reduced dinner buffet cost, activity room) but I call BS ... they didn't do anything for the students, they did it to ensure the AF would keep sending customers their way!! Forget the fact I had to take a freezing cold shower one morning, and luke warm ones most other mornings; forget a classmate of mine had to fix her own toilet because they refused to send maintenance to her room; I'll even forget the fitness center was mediocre at best and the hotel location is the middle of nowhere; but I will not forget the staff has no integrity because if they did, they would have been honest from the moment the clerk took my IHG Rewards card!

Now I know why the rates are cheap here compared to other Holiday Inns in the area. There are some weird things here and some below standard things as well. The most serious problem is that the tub is very slippery and had no rubber mat. The grab bar is hard to get to, on the wall with the shower head. There were friction strips in the tub but they were so worn that they were useless. The bathroom door did not stay open and we had to prop it open with a shoe. The shower head did not have a setting that didn't sting the body. The tile floor near the hallway door was sticky, especially to sneakers. The thermostat was placed weirdly on a wall that was blocked by a bed. You had to slide between the bed and the wall to reach it. They have 2 elevators, each with their own call button. Weird. There were 5 live ladybugs in our room and 1 dead one. In the early morning there was an intermittent buzzing outside that kept me from sleeping for a while. The attached restaurant had problems of its own. Not a good stay and would not stay there again.

After reading several reviews I thought this place was going to be better. What you will find is a very solid and safe hotel near the airport. The staff is extremely friendly. At $99, the price is significantly better than the nicer, newer hotels on I-85 on the east side of Montgomery. Those are the positives. Here are the negatives: 1) you can tell the hotel formerly allowed smoking because i could still smell it in our second floor room, 2) the hotel is old and in need of a serious renovation. The metal tub plunger came detached when I pulled it up to drain the tub, for example, 3) the hotel has blocked off one of the entrances/exits to the hotel parking lot. Thus, to get to the McDonalds next door you have to drive all the way back out to the main highway. In general, the hotel is tough to get in and out of in a car. 4) The hotel is located in a commercial wasteland. Burger King, McDonalds, and Subway are the only dining options besides the restaurant inside the hotel, which 5) has airport-like prices. $15 for a fish taco appetizer? 6) a couple loud, low-flying aircraft passed over during the night. Next time I'll pay a bit more to stay in one of the newer hotels along I-85, but if you're looking to save some money it's a solid option. Just make sure to keep your expectations in check.

From the front desk staff to the restaurant waiters, we were treated like family. They were all so friendly, and pleasant to be around. Room was perfect and the food great! Had such a wonderful time we stayed again on our way home! Recommend this hotel to anyone coming through! Definitely a home away from home feeling! *Extra Kudos to waitstaff Jerome and Charles in the restaurant! They both provided top notch service and were both very sweet!

Holiday Inn Montgomery one of the cleanest hotels in Montgomery. Location is very convenient. Staff is definitely courteous. Restaurant serves yummiest food but is very expensive though. It makes sense to eat elsewhere.

This is hotel is quite nice. It has everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Here’s my disappointment, I selected this hotel because it said it offered airport shuttle service. Well it does, but only 8 AM to 5 PM. Come on hotel management, add that to your information.

A lively group of screaming clients ascended to the fourth floor near our room. Woke us up with their noise and banging walls- we called front desk several times and no security was sent - asked for adjustment but never received a call or communication from Holiday Inn Montgomery Airport South. great place to stop if you don't want to get a few hours of peaceful sleep.

The hotel is decent for the holiday inn brand and standard amenities . I have no issues in this department. I drive a display vehicle. It requires 6 parking spaces, which i understand is considerable. Upon arrive I was asked to relocate to a dirt lot .25 miles away. I was told ....due to capacity issues in the lot. The lot never filled up....and 2 tour busses and and charter buss with trailer parked in the lot. Still, the lot never filled more than half full. I was told busses and trailers are allowed but not trucks and trailers. Just disappointed.
