The staff was very friendly and helpful. One thing I did not like is there is no ATM on the property which is an inconvenience. Food was amazing, property was clean. Our last day there the power in our room was going out. We had a Riu driver that took very good care of us when we went off the resort (Jav). He was amazing and showed us a lot of things we would not have seen on the resort. We had a great trip and would definitely come back

I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent stay at RIU Montego Bay and to request a refund for one night due to significant service and amenity issues that were not resolved in a timely manner. Day of Arrival Issues: Upon arrival, I experienced multiple problems that negatively impacted my stay: My phone did not work My television was set to Spanish, which I do not speak My key card did not work There were no functioning elevators No welcome drink or cool towel was offered Only the sports bar was open, and they had run out of food, offering only stale tortilla chips Considering the price paid, this level of service was unacceptable. Day 2 – After Being Moved to a New Room: I was moved to a new room as promised; however, the room did not include the amenities I paid for, including: Empty mini bar Empty refrigerator with no drinks No coffee or tea No bathrobes No working elevators in the new building I have photos to support these claims. These issues were not rectified until after 2:30 PM on 12/29, the day after I moved to the new room, meaning I effectively lost the use of the amenities for a full day. This was especially disappointing as this is my fifth RIU property visit, including: RIU Playa Blanca RIU Reggae (twice, and a favorite) RIU Ocho Rios RIU Negril I have never been as disappointed as I was during this stay at RIU Montego Bay.

Even though I paid extra and opted for ocean view room; for one day we were put into standard room. The staff wasn’t helpful and kept saying we booked it through Expedia which is a third party, they cannot do anything and we need to talk to Expedia. They didn’t even have courtesy to offer some sort of compensation. We had booked two rooms and ended up wasting one day (out of five days vacation) trying and moving rooms. They wouldn’t communicate via app, txt msg. or emails; I had to walk to reception check-in desk 4-5 times. Really frustrating and ruin our vacation mood. They had overbooked. Don’t understand if the resort is fully booked, why Expedia allows to book it? Expedia should give some sort of compensation. Awaiting your response; thank you.
