I’ve been to Jamaica three times and this time was for my college friend’s wedding... The hotel was not accommodating to the wedding party for small things like room changes and with allowing her local guests into the resort (even though they said they would prior to arriving). Now call me BOUGIE, but the resort was FAR from the LUXURIOUS experience I’ve had in Jamaica in prior trips. The room was decent, but smelled of mildew like it hadn’t been used in some time. The FOOD is TERRIBLE!!! Not Jamaican cuisine at all!! I was so disappointed to the point that I spoke to the Chefs in a few of the restaurants!!! The resort was so close to the airport you saw and heard every flight take off. The wedding turned out well at the last minute, but the arrangements made prior to our arrival were a waste of time because we had to redo everything!!! We didn’t complain the whole trip because we wanted to make this occasion as SPECIAL as possible for the Bride!!! I genuinely would not recommend this place to any of my friends!!!

RIU was a nice all inclusive resort . Entertainment was good. Pool foam party was the best. The food was very good, the jerk chicken on the beach area was the best. The rooms are ok ! Our bed broke down the second night we was there , they offered us another room but we refused to move. They sent someone to fixed/changed the bed. The beach is private but nice. Over all we had a good time.

First i did ask the front desk about reservation for mohoe bay stakes house from i check-in n his told me that I don’t need any reservation about any restaurant then the same night i heading there with my wife only to find out the restaurant is close due to a special night and it need reservation, so why the hell the front desk never told me that. the bedding is old n discomfort, the walk way to my room building is smells really bad and the food has no taste apart from those everything else is going fine, the Entertainment team is great doing they performance n me n my wife has enjoyed.

Amazing experience, great customer service esp from the bartenders and entertainment staff!

Second time at this Riu Good times Looking forward to our next visit

We had a fantastic time!! The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed!! The foam pool party was the best!! The food was great and the beach party was awesome!! Perry and Sunshine always greeted us with a huge smile!!!!!

the staff were very friendly rooms were clean and nice nice pool area great service overall good selection of food items not impressed with the beach weeds washing up water was not clear at all it is a party hotel which is ok 3 in the afternoon is a pool party which is VERY loud it's ok a few times but not everyday no Bob Marley music it's to old for the staff lol so the hotel caters more towards a younger crowd so if you like to relax and do your own thing this is probably not the hotel for you if you like to party it is the hotel for you

Good time, clean and a nice staff, food was good and good entertainment at the pool and the beach.

Hotel was beautiful but there were a few things that were not to my liking.... I’m not picky at all but my main thing was the smell of the room.... it smelt like an attic that had been closed for weeks.... my clothes and hair smelt so bad even after i washed it... The other thing i didn’t really care for was that the bars were far from the rooms or even the beach. The beach was not one of the best looking beaches. And the most concerning was not having shuttles at the hotel. The hotel is not in an area where you can come off the property and walk so to get to downtown or to even get picked up or dropped off at the airport you find your way.

This hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport. Good in that you get there fast, bad in that airplanes fly loudly overhead very often. Room is minimal but clean, although the buildings have no elevators so ask for a low floor if you have a lot of luggage. Pool area very nice and nighttime entertainment and bartenders were excellent! Breakfast buffet was very good. Lunch buffet was just ok. Dinner buffet was good if you don't make stupid choices like getting pizza in Jamaica. The a la carte restaurants were quite annoying as they don't take reservations and don't have a clear process for getting in. They need to fix this. Biggest complaint was the front desk staff. Due to a storm we were forced to stay 3 extra nights. When we booked the first extra night online through Orbitz, the hotel manager was clearly angry we didn't do it directly through them. They black balled us for the night and wouldn't even bring us toilet paper. My husband had to beg for some from a neighbor the next morning. It was ridiculous and unprofessional. The next morning we went downstairs and spoke to customer service and she resolved it, but the day manager was absolutely of no help and his flat affect was quite rude when we were about to spend another $1000 at their hotel so we didn't have to sleep in the airport. Some customer service training would not be a bad idea.

En general the rooms need 100 % update, beds old, TV and cables connection bad , room smells bad, no towels for the pool o beach and they don’t care .

Beautiful hotel and pool. Friendly staff and good food. So close to the airport you don't have to wait long to start relaxing. Will definitely go back again. 🤗

The hotel overall was good. However, there wasn't much assistance around when needed. I booked a few excursions and I wasn't given any directions on where I was going to be picked up or who to speak with about pick up. The room seemed to be very old and not modern, completely opposite of the pictures portrayed on the website, which was disappointing. Overall the food was great and the staff was wonderful. The beach was beautiful.

Hotel was clean, staff was great, the food was decent The beds were hard, rooms needs updated We did the scuba caribe half day excursion from in front of the hotel. Leaves at 2pm comes back at 6pm Snorkeling and visit margaritaville. I think that needs major improvement , we on the boat with older couples and younger couples, the music on the boat was terrible, I love hip hop music, but this music was straight hard core rap. It was so tacky They play commercialized music when it leaves the hotel but once your out on the waters ,it changes It ruined the experience.

It was money well spent. The staff was very professional and friendly. The room was very clean and well maintained.

Four hour into us checking in my phone was stolen from my room, my wife’s iPad was taken, and our friend who had the room next to us had her carton of cigarettes stolen and the hotel staff did nothing nor did they care, they just laughed at us. The pool was cloudy and dirty all day. Beach was great, food was great, concerts were great, and excursion were great.

Great place, great staff, uncomfortable bed. Chop-chop made the best jerk chicken and was very pleasing to all of the guests. The steak place was phenomenal compared to other all inclusive resorts I've visited. Lots of entertainment throughout the day and at night. The only downfall about our experience was hard mattress.

I absolutely loved the experience. The staff is wonderful and the common areas are beautiful. The rooms are dated and needs deep clraning...had a mildew smell, and the wifi was a mess, but other than that i enjoyed my trip

wonderful and enjoyed thoroughly but need more local music for everybody to join in on the dance floor

First of all, the pictures are done by a great photographer and don't really show that the comforts of the hotel are really not that great. We purchased a King Bed room with an ocean view, we were given a room with double beds shoved together and a view of the pool. We were told the hotel doesn't have king beds at all and that they would "tie the legs" together and put a blanket down the middle to make a large bed for my husband and myself. The beds are rock hard and just as bad as sleeping on the floor. Then we were told that Orbitz has false advertising and we actually purchased a partial ocean view so we could just see a bit of water from our room. Second, the hotel is a 24/7 party. If you like that kind of thing, great. If not and your room happens to be by the pool/nightclub you will never have any peace and quiet. We ended up paying an extra $110 to "upgrade" our rooms to a real ocean view and a more quiet room as far away from the pool and noise as possible. Third, don't expect a beach. This is a man made lagoon. The sand was infested with sand fleas and red fire ants are everywhere. They need to spray for these kinds of infestations as it is entirely possible to manage this issue but they failed to do so! Guess what, I found out I'm allergic to sand flea bites! We would not return even given a free trip!
