I had a great stay at RIU Montego Bay. Great and friendly staff, amazing food at all restaurants and buffet, cleanliness was 5 star, activities were good, and the beach is beautiful with swimming pool like calm waters. Only downside was the broken elevator, but I didn’t mind the daily exercise to get to my room. Well done RIU MOBAY!!

I was amazed how this property looked especially after Hurricane Melissa. The staff did an amazing job getting it up and running for the visitors. It was clean, well maintained and just overall great. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The food was spectacular. The jerk hut was a great spot for when you hanging at the pool. Drinks were on point. Day entertainment was fun and inclusive. The night party was always turnt up. I’ll be returning definitely!

Rooms were a little outdated and overall the whole resort to be considered 5 star. I did see multiple baby cockroaches in our bathroom, never any big ones. Pool areas are small and not much of a beach. Drinks were not strong at all. I am a very lightweight and I felt nothing so I found myself not even bothering to drink since I felt like I was just drinking sugary drinks the whole time. Even alcohol in the room tasted watered down. We did a quick 3 night trip so it made due but I would not recommend if staying for a week or 2. Food was okay, I was never able to make a reservation at any of the restaurants cause they were booked the whole time we were there so we just ate in the dining hall. Staff was great and friendly. They really work hard and the entertainers seem like they love their jobs. Overall it was just okay, I would not stay here again though.

Resort was great. I forgot that there was a big hurricane that hit Montego Bay hard just a couple of months ago. Sandals next door was closed but this resort seemed completely fine! Staff was great, food was always delicious and great property!

First impression was the hotel is very beautiful and well kept and most of the staff were friendly. Javarie, the receptionist had no personality or warmth for that role. He should not be greeting or checking out anyone. The first two days, we had no WiFi in room 8, and it took many back and forth to the reception desk. That was when we met Bronswell, the receptionist. He is very friendly, personable and went out of his way to assist us. We then got a room change to 18 and was pleasantly surprised and not in a good way. The room has roaches! My husband and I killed so many of them and eventually we reported it to the front desk. They said they had it sprayed but it didn’t make a difference. We were ready to leave by that point. We paid for 10 days in an ocean view room that had roaches and the shower and bathroom smelled like sewage. We only stayed 9 days because the airline canceled our flight on the day we were supposed to travel and we had to get another flight the following day. RIU Montego Bay didn’t reimburse us for that day we lost, so needless to say, we would never go back to that hotel.
