Small and read the fine print!
Arrival was wonderful (this is about our 15th stay at a Majestic Sun property). We went and bought groceries and the first night the oven wasnt working so we called the number…it was 4:40 pm). The person said they were closing up the office but they’d be up soon. When they came they just flipped the breaker and said it was fixed and then left. When I got back to the unit and tried to cook, the oven still wasn’t working. By this time it was 5:30 pm and office hours were over so they basically said since it’s the weekend there’s not much we can do til Monday and they told us to go out to eat and they’d reimburse us. So Sunday and Monday all day with no oven (and we cook all our meals at the beach and had bought groceries). They bring us a toaster oven Monday night which was sufficient. Throughout all of this they assured us they would reimburse us for our meals/trouble. The per diem for Florida is about 70-80 dollars per day per person and we had 4 adults and 2 children. My calculations were about 800-900 dollars but they only reimbursed us 400 and then cited the rental agreement that they weren’t liable or responsible for any expenses that happened if one of the appliances broke. Wow…that is absolutely crazy to me but it’s my fault for not reading the fine print. Also…the 2nd bedroom with the 2 queen beds was awful. It was cramped, no dresser and janky shelves on wall for cable boxes. One bed only had a 2-3 inch foam pad. Uncomfortable.
