The resort was very nice and clean. The pool area was perfect with big chairs and umbrellas. The resort had a nice game room and sand volleyball court to use. However, the resort really needed more. It would have been nice to have a bar around the pool area with some music. There was really nothing to do. Unfortunately the beach was horrible! The sand is brown and covered in seaweed. The beach is very narrow and not maintained like other resorts. We love the beach and this resort does not offer a nice beach. I did talk to someone from the Army Corp of Engineers who said the beach is going to be re-made. Hopefully that will help the beach situation. There is nothing to do around the resort besides driving down to South Beach 30 minutes away. The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. Unfortunately we will not be going back.
I absolutely love Solara and all it's staff! I've known them for a few years and I am so happy to see them each time I visit Miami. They are genuinely warm people, very welcoming and very sweet! I would like to recognize and thank each of them , Junior, Morris, Claudia, Jorge, Hilliard, Ruben and both Frank's :) .I celebrated my birthday in Miami while visiting with my brother and the staff gave me a beautiful ''happy birthday'' card and surprised me with a ''happy birthday'' ribbon on my room door. They are absolutely wonderful, I love them all so much and once again, I thank everyone and each of them for their kindness and professionalism! The hotel is an amazing property, it is always perfect and the experience is just WOW!! Thank you all so much and please commend your staff for being so awesome!
I just love Solara. I visited last year for the first time for Father's Day and decided to book mother's day for this year. What a treat! I love their customer service, location, and attention to detail.
We have been Bluegreen owner's since 2014 and happy with most locations. We live in Arizona and was excited for our first trip to Miami and looking forward to beach time, pool time, and balcony viewing. I called the resort two weeks in advance to make sure they had our reservation and would try to accommodate our requests. I was told my reservation was there and they would try to get our room on a higher floor. (yes, we booked 10 months in advance). My husband and I are mental health professionals and needed rest and relaxation. Got to resort, was put on the 2nd floor across from elevator, view corner of street and pool deck area. Loud and so many families with multiple members, coolers, etc. These members did not watch their children, running and jumping in pool, hottub full of little children swimming. Pool for most part unusable, small portion 3ft-5ft, over 3/4 is 8ft. We have asked many times for a move in room. All day yesterday the unit next door was being renovated due to some type of water break. Staff and members talk loudly at elevator. Each time was informed of being "full." Was told "no" many times. My husband joked.....and this is not funny...do they ever say "yes." As a metal owner I feel like our experience and treatment was not Bluegreen preferred policy. We have been overwhelmed in our professional careers and looking forward to relaxation and here we are not EVEN RELAXED. I have so many questions about this property. The staff has called each day asking us to go to an update........THEY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM US! I would like to hear from Bluegreen Corporate on expectations of owners and monies spent, quality of overall satisfaction. Should have titled this review...Not relaxed, not happy. Did I mention the Manager at this resort is not welcoming! Very stoic, lacking hospitality. Today is Easter and Customer Service not available, but they will hear from me tomorrow. Also my Bluegreen sites on Facebook talking to other owners. Regards, Dawn Richmond Isaacsen
We decided to get away for a few days. This was a excellent choice. Very neat and clean rooms, perfect beach view, swimming pool/jacuzzi area was very nice and clean. The beds was very comfortable and the customer service by all staff, especially front desk and valet parking was exceptional. The location offers free trolly pick-up nearby, several restaurants within walking distance and great area. I highly recommend this resort.
This resort books 11 months out so don’t expect cancellations. You may Get lucky. Read about Bluegreen BEFORE you take a tour/ update at any of their properties. Try to get a balcony. But since the beach and property is nice You may not be in your room much. Game room and some activities. Pool area just re-done, late February still waiting for a part for the pool heater and hot tub. Friendly staff for parking and chairs umbrellas. I recommend not bringing a car and using Uber or Lyft or the free shuttle.
I recently visited Solara and my experience was awful. Last week, I was called several times by a Solara representative Wally??? to set up an owner review. I agreed to do one only if they could give me late checkout after my 11am review was over as I had 5 other guest with me. Wally assured me this would be the case, and upon checking in on 2-16-19 @5 pm, he assured me again as he welcomed me in the lobby of Solara. On Monday 2-18-19, as I was in the shower getting ready to attend my owner review, a Solara staff member started calling my room #401 3x shortly after 10am, waking everyone else up and demanding to speak to me because supposedly we needed to leave. I called back and spoke to the manager...Ginger?? and she told me that I needed to leave asap despite my explanation and a copy of my 11am owner review appointment. At that point I could no longer attend as I had to help my guest get everything ready asap. Around 10:40am I got another call from a lady salesperson with a French accent demanding that I attend the owner's meeting. I tried to explain to her what had just happened and why I could not attend, and she did not care. She spoke to me rudely and said "anyways" as she cut me off while I was speaking. At that point, I was upset, hung up the phone and headed downstairs to speak to the manager and to check out. The manager did not care, did not apologize or attempted to make things right with me. I was humiliated in front of my guests, lied to, and treated unfairly. 3 of my guest did not even get to shower!!! That's no way to treat a Bluegreen owner and loyal customer like me who has spent more than 150 nights in the last 4 years at your resorts It's really bad for business and Bluegreen's reputation.
This location is not what it was talked up to be. Yes, the rooms are large with a kitchen, bedroom, 2 bathrooms. It's like a small apartment and it was fairly clean (there was used shower cap in the shower curtain). I was happy to see that there were pots, pans, glasses and even some complimentary items (1 bag of microwave popcorn, small salt and pepper shaker, dish soap, coffee, etc.) HOWEVER, we were "sold" into the idea this was a nice resort. It's a glorified hotel that smells and looks like it came from the 70's. It's the smallest building on the street (only 7 floors tall, it looks like a dwarf in comparison to the buildings surrounding it). It was super disappointing that there was no pool or hot tub (I understand it's undergoing renovation, YAY for them but not cool for guests, who in compensation for this were given towels they could use at the community pool over 6 blocks away that they "heard" was pretty nice....we went as part of our sampler package after a visit to another location that was far superior and what we were expecting to see at this location but were sorely disappointed.
This is one of my favorite BlueGreen resorts. The building has a fun Art Deco look and it's right on the beach. During the day chairs and umbrellas are provided for free for guests staying at the resort. The rooms are always great and the staff is top notch.
We stayed here for our first time early in February and had unseasonably warm weather. Which was great. The area overall was a bit too congested and big city for our liking but the resort is within walking distance of many of the things we experienced. They provide underground parking and valet your car up when needed. There is a cost for parking however. Then if you do take your car out to go somewhere you will pay to park it. There is a trolley (bus) system that you can experience. No charge to park at the grocery store. The resort itself is rather classy and appears to have been recently updated.
