It was the smell in the room. Most likely coming from the bathroom or who knows. The noise which to be fair could have come from the alley. My bathroom sink barely ran water and in the morning there was no water at all. At one point I just needed a plain mug but was told probably not since the restaurant operated separately. Didn't seem like huge ask.... Location obviously ideal but they need to do a deep clean of the bathroom since also the showerel water would overflow onto main floor so I had to keep a towel there and could not use the toilet normally. Faint smell of urine and mold permeated in room

Let’s start with the positive- we had a great, unobstructed view of the ocean. That was really it. The lobby is dark and dingy. The hallway carpets have never been vacuumed. The room was moderately clean. As soon as we turned on the wall a/c, it poured water all over our belongings on the desk below. It dripped all night. The smoke detector and portable dehydrator beeped all night long-periodically. TBH, we didn’t ask to change rooms because it was the middle of the night. We kept hoping it would stop. When we reported it, the front desk person was really unresponsive-telling us to email the manager. She made no notes if things to report to maintenance. So, I guess the next people’s stuff will get soaked and the smoke detector will just die.

The room needs major upgrade. Bathroom had a dirty mop odor. They over did it with cleaning with bleach. The front desk lady who was impatient and terrible hospitality spoke in a nasty tone , came up to check my complaint on the odor and claim she smelled nothing wrong. I had to purchase disinfect to kill the smell using towels to wipe down and wash the floor. The room phone did not work. Tech came to fix the phone and couldn't. Said he would be back and never came back. So no phone the entire stay. By law its required to have working phones in rooms in case of emergency. They would not accommodate me to change my room. Built in closet had 3 shelves. A metal rod sticking out the wall to hang clothes on with 4 hangers. Only up to date appliances were the fridge iron and ironing board. Bes sheets was stained along side the sides. I bought sheets and pillows and pillow cases to cover to bed after spraying with lysole disinfect. The on line ratings for this hotel is highly fabricated. Needs to torn down and rebuild or gutted and renovated.

There was no hot water for washing up or showers. Staff told just before checking out you have to leave the hot water tap on 5 to 10 minutes! Mattresses not pillow top. Small elevator making check in and out difficult. For age of hotel the bathroom looked great. View and location prime.

Our experience at Beacon hotel was amazing ! Since we arrived Daphne was very professional , warm and welcoming !! She is great and we felt very comfortable at the Beacon hotel , All the staff are very nice and professional !! Location is amazing !!! The room are nice and we will be back !! Thanks Beacon !
