I'm an easy going guy, so I chose to give the benefit of the doubt and stick with Beacon after reading the reviews. Well, here's mine, because there may be some truly deal-breaking items on this list for some people. ​The only positive thing about this hotel is its location! It truly is excellent. ​Unfortunately, my stay was hindered by a severe lack of maintenance and customer service. On two occasions, I saw cockroaches in the hallway, the elevator is forever broken, and an advertised 24-hour gym that was inaccessible because it is being used for storage. My room had concerning issues, including mold in the A/C unit, a horrible stench (maybe the mold), a broken remote, and non-soundproof walls, as advertised. Not even a little soundproof. ​Service was unresponsive. My texts about a broken safe and phone were ignored. The maid asked if I wanted my room cleaned and I asked for the sheets to be changed and she said "ohhh, we don't do that." Wait, what? The room is severely outdated, with broken fixtures, peeling chrome, and you have to run the shower for 10+ minutes to get warm water. ​This hotel desperately needs a major update and better management to match its prime location.

The room was in good condition. Bathroom is very small. Some unfinished plaster and tile work. The shower door did not slide easily. The room was cleaned well and the bed very comfortable. Staff was courteous and accommodating. The language barrier was a bit cumbersome.

Hotel and staff was good. Only issue we had was finding overnight parking for a motorcycle. All the city parking garages don’t allow overnight parking and the street parking is 8 hrs max.
