First time for us in Majorca and we were not disappointed! Stayed as a couple for 7 nights on a room only basis. We were given a warm welcome by Mar during our check-in process and were quickly shown to our room. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Room was very quiet with very little hotel 'noise'. Pool area very clean with no problem getting a sunbed at any time of day. Sun loungers are probably the most comfortable we've ever experienced. Ideal location, right next to beach and great promenade to walk along. Plenty of choice of restaurants and bars nearby although if returning, would probably go B&B basis.
A beautiful hotel with beautiful decor and great staff. We had room 119 which overlooked the pool and caught the afternoon sun. The beds are HUGE and very comfortable, the pillows not so. When I rang reception to select a pillow from the pillow menu I was told it would cost €3 per day! I think not! The breakfast buffet has lots of choice , and everything is labelled with allergy info. We were not met at the door of the restaurant so didn't know whether to sit down or wait. The staff were very busy so had to ask for drinks. We didn't find the bread until our last day! The tea was awful (water not boiling) so we ordered coffee the next which was lovely . The pool area is so relaxing, with tonal colours of blue and cream. A nice touch was the complimentary drinks brought around the pool in the morning and an ice cream in the afternoon. Lots of restaurants in the area, the beach is just a cross the road and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. £1.50 to Palma and £5.00 to the Airport. If you have a late flight there are showers available to use, and a secure room for your luggage. You need to keep your pool towel to use. Will certainly return.
Before I talk about the beauty and the cleanness of the hotel. I would like to talk about the outstanding service we received from the whole staff and especially from Joana and Reina. My friend and I stayed at Iberostar Playa de Palma for 4 nights last week. We both had our luggage delayed and stayed at the hotel with no luggage at all. Joana and Reina helped us in every possible way, answering all our questions and accommodating every request and even calling the airline office for us at least 3 times a day (even though it wasn’t their job) and all was done with a smile. (Joana and Reina if you reading this, thank you so much for making things easier for us. We appreciate your efforts and value your service) So, the hotel design is just stunning, super clean and super neat. We stayed in the double sea view room with. Our room was on the 4th floor so the view was breathtaking. Breakfast was great, so many options and so many goodies, perfect. It is also important to mention that the hotel let us use their facilities after we checked out. I know this is not something all hotels accept. Hotel was in great location, the area was quite. 10 minutes away from the airport, a walk from the beach and 10-15 minutes away from city center.
The decor of he newly refurbed hotel is very tasteful and gives it a boutique feel even though it is a large hotel. The rooms are large and nicely done. There is a very good spa. The food was amazing. There was so much choice and it is all displayed absolutely beautifully. Spoilt for choice.
super hotel spent a week late September location -across the road from the beach right on the promenade full of bars restaurants shops ect but not noisy at all service bus to Palma outside the front door airport only 15 mins away but no aircraft noise at all reception - very helpful and always smiling superb attitude from all staff Valery the porter was most helpful the lady on reception who organised my wifes wheelchair for the week was also excellent the chair was deliverd and paid for within the hour of checking in highly recommended for the less able rooms-these were fabulous spotlessly clean good house keeping huge bed /sunken bath /separate walk in rain shower safe/mini bar /furnished balcony with sun beds food -dinners were brilliant huge choices but a nightly signature choice which varied every night great starters sweets and soups 5 star plus wine waiter there to take your order within seconds of sitting down breakfast also good but my favourite smoked salmon was only there 2 out of the 7 nights I love it with scrambled eggs the now mandortary omelete cook is making up whatever you like cold choices also very good fresh coffee on the table again withinseconds of sitting down pool area -just the right size plenty of sunbeds and again a big plus point is I love a swim before breakfast which was no problem no grand prix start in a rush for sun beds nice ladies who did the hotel activaties I know know how to make a swan with a towel special mention to paul the trainee manager who came to see us off very welcoming and a perfect gentleman overall great hotel and worthy of the 5 star rating the only drawback (and this is just a observation ) there are very few English people in the hotel or in the surrounding area mostly from Germany /and Scandinavia /not that we want to get heavily involved but just nice to have a chat over dinner or in a local bar would have been nice only heard one English voice and was not sure if they were language students from lichtenshtien the Geordie accent almost fooled me highly recommended Brian
We stayed here for one week as part of 20th wedding anniversary trip. We have been to many Caribbean resorts including Iberostars so our expectations were based on that. We found the European all-inclusive to be quite different but still very enjoyable. The beach was a-1. Like all other hotels in Palma, iberostar is across the street. They do not control lawn chairs which you must pay extra for. Service at hotel was outstanding. Staff were courteous, helpful and respectful -- very much in keeping with the ultra-chic decor of this resort. Accommodations were outstanding, beautiful and clean. Very modern and I suspect, New. Food is the only reason we did not rate this a five-star. We had half board which means breakfast and choice of lunch or dinner. Our recommendation is to go with breakfast only and enjoy lunch and dinner at various wonderful eateries along the beach and in town. There are hundreds to choose from and you won't get bored with the same old buffet in the hotel. You simply MUST visit Palma. It is a charming city with a rich history and some rich inhabitants.
When we arrived at the hotel we were told we had been given an upgrade to Prestige and shown to our room. We had booked a twin room with sea view, the room we were given was side sea view. had a strange smell and a T.V. that did not work so we rang down and asked to have the room we had booked and paid for. This was not available. we were told we would have to check out of the room we were in by 12noon the following day and leave our luggage at reception until later in the afternoon when a twin room would be available. After breakfast the following morning we were told a room was available and someone would come up to take us to our new room, when no-one arrived I phoned reception and someone then came within 20 minutes. We were taken to our new room but it was not a twin room but a family room although it did have sea view there was no couch by the window in fact we spent the week sitting on the bed to watch T.V. The room and furnishings were not like any 5 star hotel we have stayed in previously, I would describe it as similar to an upmarket premier inn style room. The positives were the pool area was very good and the food was excellent. I would not consider returning to this hotel and would not describe it as 5 star.
The rooms are clean the pool is not heated, very very cold even when the temperature in the mid 80's and there is no jacuzzi. But the worst experience was with the front desk. On our first night we had noise from the room upstairs, kids running, throwing a ball and moving furniture from 9pm to 12am. Since we have a two years old that sleeps by 9pm we complained to a manager who promised to speak to them and asked us to let them know if it happens again which it eventually did! We complained again and were told they would move us to a better junior suite room but we could not see the room until we gave up our room. After going through packing and waiting for couple of hours to get in the new room we were shocked to know it's much smaller room with no tub and limited sea view compared to the room we've paid for. A person in the reception named David made a mock of himself! He lied and told me there was no one on top of us even though the manger stated earlier it's a family with two kids. At the end no one apologized or offered any compensation!! Half a day from our vacation time was wasted on this and it felt like we were the ones being punished and not the inconsiderate family making the noise! Very disappointed!!
1. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. Our view was amazing! My only complaint about our room was that the shower leaked all over the floor, but we put a few towels down and it was just fine. 2. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. There was no was you should leave there hungry. 3. The reason I only give this resort a 3/5 is for the the star prestige. This is their upgrade with additional features. Totally not worth it! You get to use the roof top area with a pool. The drinks there are part of the package and they advertise "sweet and savory snacks" from 10-12 and 4-6. There is 1 waitress taking care of everyone on the roof. So in 2.5 hours we were able to order 1 beer. And the only snack was 1 passed tray of chocolate cake. The first day we thought they were just having a bad day, so we went back the next day and it was the same thing. 4. Marea is the upscale restaurant in the hotel. It is one of the more expensive restaurants in the area. Part of the package did get us a tasting menu at the restaurant. If you are looking for a nice evening with good food, I would recommend going there for the full menu. 5. The staff was very friendly and helpful. 6. The spa is very small and there is only 1 person working there. So we tried to make reservations for 2 days without success. 7. Someone in a previous review commented on the limited food options near the hotel. We found great dinner options for each night and some pretty good lunch options too. I would recommend looking on trip advisor to find good recommendations for dinner. They were spot on. 8. Walking a good portion of the beach, I will say this hotel looked like one of the nicer ones in the area. Also it is very close to the airport so access was great. Please do not see that as a negative because you do not hear the planes at all.
Between myself and my husband we have visited many hotels around the world and this has to be by far the best hotel we have had the pleasure to spend time in. It is outstanding, described as 5* luxury and it truly is. The Management and staff couldn't do enough for us and they are literally everywhere, whenever you want something, there's always someone there, even by the pool, they're constantly parading the pool area providing waiter service. The Manager greeted us by name every time we saw her, and she seemed to be around every day, greeting everyone at the restaurant. She often spent time asking us where we were heading off to or had been for the day, giving valuable advice. They seriously couldn't do enough to keep you happy. The maid service was exceptional, in fact the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. She would often leave animal shaped towel displays with sweets on which our daughter loved. It was a special birthday for our daughter and I contacted the hotel beforehand to ask if they could do something special in the room. For a reasonable charge we arrived to an amazing display of pink balloons, pink hand written bunting and a delicious cake! The room itself with a pool view, which also had a sea view as it was on floor 2, was superb! My daughter had her own bedroom area with a beautiful light up picture, large tv on the wall, sofa and table and seat. The bathroom / wet room was also large with a very large bath with retractable shower head, a separate power show and rain shower and separate toilet, heated towel rail and a very large twin sink vanity unit with everything you needed. There were gowns, slippers and all the complimentary toiletries and essentials you'd need. The main bedroom area is huge with an extremely large bed, similar size to 2 x queen size beds together and a very large area with table and chairs, as well as a large dressing table and large tv. There's lots of storage space, mirrors, there was literally nothing we needed. There was a coffee machine and mini bar. We had large bottles of water replaced each day at no charge. You could connect your music via Bluetooth to play in the bedroom and bathroom area. There was a good sized glass balcony with a table and chairs, very impressive. The hotel itself was outstanding, the entrance is gorgeous with feathered cushions and lots of gorgeous couches to sit and relax, there was a pianist on occasion and a harpist, so beautiful. The inside bar was beautiful, the area to relax/have lunch by the pool was gorgeous with large rattan furniture. My daughter has a few issues and she wouldn't eat outside, nothing is a problem at this hotel, they made up a couple of bar tables inside for us to eat! The bar food was superb. The entertainment was fabulous, opera night was particularly fascinating with a string quartet and ballet dancer and opera singers who were outstanding and has most of the audience in tears! There was entertainment every night and the entertainment area for August was never overly busy, but just enough to enjoy. In fact, considering the hotel was fully booked, wherever you were you never felt it was overcrowded. Even the pool area was always reasonably quiet. Always beds available and the pool was never overcrowded, for mid August there was maybe 5 or 6 children max in the pool at any time. We stayed Half Board and the choice for breakfast and dinner was fabulous, the freshly cooked food and meats were exceptional. Some of the prepared foods were only luke warm, but they were happy to make one fresh for you. The beach is just out the back entrance of the hotel and across the road. It's 5mins from the airport and we didn't hear any planes at all, they didn't fly over the hotel. Palma is 20mins or so, the bus was very overcrowded and it was a long journey back from the cathedral, but Palma itself is absolutely beautiful, lots of shops and good local restaurants, we found a lovely Tapas bar. Palma aquarium is also close by on the same road, we got a taxi but you could probably walk. It's a good short day out and definitely worth a visit. Seriously don't miss an opportunity to visit this hotel, it's amazing and so is Palma. Thank you Estefania, a perfectly managed hotel with a great team, we will definitely be visiting again!
