Just loved it indeed. I stayed at teh Solken Puerta America for 1 night only. I stayed on the first and very impressive floor. This hotel is really different than the other hotels I stayed at. I had the feeling that I was sleeping in a igloo style room. the material gave a feeling of freshness. The internet connection was excellent and the breakfast delicious!

This hotel is completely different than any other hotel you have even been to. I had a "spacy" room - like you are in a space shuttle - all iron and super trendy. The corridor had the same interior. Every floor has another style. It is super done ! Nice terrace outside - great bar. Very friendly staff. Keep in mind that this hotel is not located in or near the city. So you have to take a cab and it is located near the highways, so you do not have a super view at all. But inside you have a super experience. I was here for travel and had meetings in the hotel, that was super convenient. I am not sure if you want to stay here for your holidays (because of the location).

this hotel was being renovated when we stayed which is never ideal - however they did marvellously distract us with fabulous service, exquisite food and wonder room spray (which you can buy). Unusually you get to choose what type of room you would like to stay in as each floor has been decorated by a different interior designer. This does lead to rather an extended faff at reception however as guests have to flick through "the i-pad of choice" which rather delays proceedure especailly for those new to the concept. Frankly all rooms and floors are equally weird - we opted for the Barbarella-esq all while floor 9 - all rounded corners and flickering lights. Rooms were comfortable but odd with bath taking centre stage. Service and food in main restaurant however was one of the best we have ever had in Spain - exquisite. Ample car park.

For the last day of a city trip to Madrid I stayed in the Silken Puerta America at the end of August, mainly because they offered late-check out until 18:00 for an additional (very low fee). The hotel was under renovation (pool, sauna and rooftop bar closed), but this isn't the reason that I won't come back again. I rather dislike that their rooms are aged. I've got a Junior Suite on the 9th floor: the carpet was dirty in the "living room" area, the door handle was loose. The curtains looked like cheap plastic shower curtains (which urgently need to meet a flat iron). The mattress in the room was very hard. I asked if they had other rooms with softer beds (knowing, that each floor is designed by some other designer, it seemed possible that there would be other kind of beds). I was told that all beds are equal in this hotel. Later that evening we needed to be transferred to another room because the electricity failed on the whole 9th floor; we got a room on the 3rd floor, and surprisingly the bed was way softer - hence the receptionist didn't told the truth when I asked. I think the Hotel is "Ok", but my overall impression, well, I expect a bit more from a 5* hotel.

This hotel is very different to what you would normally expect and I enjoy the quirkiness of it very much. The rooms are very clean and kept to a high standard. During our time, we missed out on some of the facilities, due to a much needed renovation. However, they more then made it up for it with the alternatives they provided. I felt the staff were fantastic and all went above and beyond what was required of them. Moving forward I think the hotel could start installing TV's with a Smart function, so that you can access apps like youtube or Netflix. The hotel is quite from the centre, but the metro is walking distance and is fairly cheap, so it wasn't an issue for us. I would highly recommend this hotel once they've completed their renovations and I will be booking with them again if I return to Madrid.

Great experience to stay in this hotel, got the room 626, on the red floor that looked like it was carved out of a Twin Peaks episode, a must is to explore all the floors. Great service too, the staff was very helpful and the breakfast was the most diverse i had in a while

A case of SERIOUS style over content. The rooms are terrible. Bit like sleeping in a sci fi caravan. Everything's white and pod like, the TV comes out the ceiling which is actually quite retro. Takes about 10 minutes to work out how to turn the lights off. No water in the rooms. Rubbish mini bar. The rooms are awfully over designed and pretentious. I can't think of a single person who want to sleep in one. (See pic) You leave thinking how and why would anyone design such a monstrosity of a hotel and who is it designed for ? certainly not couples as it's about as romantic as sleeping on the film set of Alien. Definitely not business as there is no desk. It's utterly baffling. Bars ok though and staff are nice. Avoid like the plague if you want to be comfortable. 💩

Got a good deal on this hotel from a website, and was super impressed. The whole hotel was "funky, and modern" They let you choose the floor when you check in and each floor was a different design. you choose based on the feel you want for the room and wow was this a cool feature. It was such an enjoyable experience to stay at this hotel, and I would be happy to stay here again.

I have stayed 3 nights at this hotel in late June 2012. While the location lets the place down slightly design is absolutely amazing. free shuttle to airport. It's near a metro station, but generally a 30 min trip to get anywhere We found the service to be good and the rooms were perfectly clean and well appointed. On arrival you are able to choose which of the floors you want to stay on - there are photos to help you make your choice. In terms of the location, it is reasonably close to the airport but the area itself (while not being a bad area) is very dull and there is a busy road right outside the hotel. It is a shame this hotel is not in a more interesting area as that would really make it top notch.

The hotel is great. Each level was built by a different designer, which gives you a different options of room type. Also the hotel have different beautiful restaurants. The location is near the center as well.
