Had a great stay here while in Madrid. The staff was very friendly. My flight got in really early and they allowed me an early check in which was much appreciated especially after two weeks of traveling from location to location. I was pretty tired when I got there and it was nice to be able to relax for a bit before heading out to explore the city. The location was good. Really close to the train station and the main attractions were also walkable. The breakfast buffet was good as well. There was a good selection of items to choose from.
Spacy clean modern rooms very close to Atocha which is the central train station and direct bus to airport for 5 euros.... great place walking minutes to everything q0min to Museo del Padro same to plaza mayor, mercado de san miguel etc
Nice hotel in a good location... fine to be there
The hotel was just 5 minutes from Atocha. Perfect on moving on to Barcelona. It is also 3 blocks from the Metro.
The hotel was clean and we enjoyed beers in the lounge.
Excelent Hotel, good location, perfect to visit all the main sites of Madrid
The hotel is located close to train & airport bus (local and long distance) stations and at least a few attractions. value for money is very good however,WiFi in-room is not available unless you are a Marriott member. Restaurant is way over priced, but decent eateries are nearby.
Great staff, very helpful , great location two block from atocha train/metro services, near to several art foundations , and 10 minutes walk to retiro park and neptunos fountain, if you go to other cities around madrid o other states this is the place to stay. Breakfast is great i have many food and diferents kind of breakfast to choose.
Great experience! Very low cost. Great accommodation for extra bed.
My family spent three night there, in two rooms. The staff was very, very helpful upon check-in and indeed, throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and pleasant. The location was exactly what we wanted (close to Retiro and Prado). The free wi-fi in the lobby was more than sufficient for our needs. The free minibar (non-alcoholic) was a nice perk. Even though this is a "business" hotel, it served our family very well. Only thoughts on improvements: soundproofing on rooms is not the best, and noise from the street and other rooms was a minor issue. Also, the beds left a little to be desired. We would definitely stay again, and encourage others to do so as well.
This is a lovely hotel - good value - an easy 10 min walk from Atocha train station. Spacious, well designed, very clean. Staff was so pleasant and helpful. Perfect location for day-tripping in and out of Madrid by train. There is also a (yellow)bus that runs every 20 mins from the train station to the airport, so we easily got to the airport at 7:30 am from this location, at a cost of only 2 euro each. The area was very safe - somewhat residential in feel, and there were many restaurants in the area. Less than 10 mins to the Reina Sofia, less than 15 walking to the Prado or Parque Retiro.
Stay away from this place. The arrogant attitude of the staff erased all the other benefits. I had a neighbor shouting into a cell phone. I could not find a number for reception to complain. Therefore, I went downstairs. I hardly got the words out of my mouth before the receptionist said he was a regular and one of their most important clients. I said if they don't handle this, I will. I think I got action with that threat. WHen I needed a taxi to the train station, I was told to stand on the corner with my luggage and one would automatically stop, as they pass by there all the time. I was dumped out on a street corner without a cab in sight. After a few minutes, I spotted ONE and grabbed it. Fortunately, I left plenty of time. On other questions I found the staff at the desk generally inattentive and arrogant. Marriott bought the chain. Maybe these people will ge canned.
First I would like to say the rooms were nice and the housekeeping staff does a great job! I did however feel that the front desk staff was not very helpful and that the hotel seemed to nickel and dime you. Wifi in the room costs FIFTY EUROS!!! I have stayed at 5 star hotels all across the world and I have never seen such high costs. My friend left his passport at a previous hotel and needed to get in contact with them to have them mail it. The staff member checking us in did not want to help and just told him there is a public phone in the lobby for 1 Euro / Minute. After spending 6 Euros on a phone that did not work she decided she would call the hotel from the front desk herself but refused to let him speak to the hotel and then tried to charge him for it!
Unfortunately, we started off on the wrong foot with staff. We had a problem with our passports and the front office staff would not let us use the telephone to make a few calls. They referred us to the public phone but even that one did not work. Despite the hotel being in a very good location and awesome rooms, the first experience and thereafter just left us with a poor feeling throughout our stay. I can only rate it 3 stars due to horrible, poor customer service.
This Hotel was perfect for us. Clean room, nice neighborhood, within walking distance to the Plaza Mayor, The Palace, Atocha Train Station,Art Museum, and Madrid Tour Bus. Street is lined with bakeries, boutiques, and plenty of places to enjoy the local food and drink. We encountered a helpful, English speaking staff. Room is modern with plasma TV, and a small refrigerator which is stocked with "free, non alcoholic beverages".Work station in lobby. Breakfast buffet, with various offerings ,available for 14 Euro.
Friendly and helpful staff. Large very clean and stylish rooms. Free mini bar soft drinks. Internet in lobby. Close to atocha and metro. A neighborhood that is not solely tourists.
This was a very nice hotel. Clean and modern with very friendly staff. It was a little noisy, on a busy street. But the location was worth it as all of the places we visited were within walking distance. The train station and a metro stop were only a couple of blocks away if we did not want to walk. We used the metro after visiting the Palacio Real as it was a bit of a hike after a long day. The breakfast buffet was a little expensive. We went elsewhere for breakfast. I also wish there had been free wireless internet access in the room.
The room was large and comfortable. The restrooms are also large. For the price we were very happy with the condition of the hotel, cleanliness, and the rooms were made ready daily. The hotel provided daily toiletries. The room also had a small refrigerator with some complimentary drinks and this was a very nice added feature. Be advised that the 2 elevators are small and you can fit no more than four people at a time. If you are using the trains to arrive or depart then the Atochu rail station is within walking distance. Don't worry you do not hear the trains at the hotel. You are within walking distance if you like to some of the museums like the Prado, El Retiro park with the crystal palace and the fallen angel, and to the Botanical Gardens. The other sites like the Royal Palace and Cathedral you will have to take the metro which is close by or a taxi.
Nice hotel in the Atocha area of Madrid. Room are well furbished and maintained. Closed to Atocha station, the hotel is a little far from main commercial area (Puerta del Sol / Salamanca area) but it is closed to main museums (Prado, Reina Sofia & Tyssen). Reception is fast but not very welcoming... Ask for high floor room to prevent street noises as the hotel is positioned on a high traffic street. I would reccomend it to everyone looking for a reasonably priced accomodation in a semi central area of Madrid (if you don't like to walk... look for something else).
Good location near the train station, Retiro Park, & El Prado. Lots of little Bar/Cafeterias close by for breakfast. We used the on/off bus & the metro. Took the train to Segovia & Toledo for day trips & then to move to Barc. The hotel was kind enough to let us check in early upon arrival. Friendly staff & clean comfortable room.
