We arrived on June 15. The front door had a notice from the city stating the lawn needed to be mowed. There was trash along the driveway, & nothing had been cleaned from the previous renters. The floors were filthy, each bed was unmade, & slept in.The kitchen counters & refrigerator were dirty with spills, fingerprints & crumbs. A comforter had a large stain on it. Inside the sheets were sunflower seeds; fingernails on a nightstand; bottle caps & cigarette butts & a brown stain on the wall next to the toilet. My family had to spend over 4 hours cleaning the sheets, comforters in order to sleep there. We rented the house in April for June 16-18. On May 1, we added & paid for June 15. The payment went through but my confirmation email had the dates June 16- 18. I immediately let the owner know. She stated in the email, “you’re all set & I just confirmed that the payment already went through, your new check in date is June 15, 2023- 4:00pm.” As soon as we realized the house had not been cleaned, we called the owner and she did not answer. We then emailed the owner, notified her of the situation & requested she call us. The owner still has yet to call us. The owner would only respond to us through email. She apologized & said it was a calendar issue. There were no alternative places to stay. We requested the owner refund us for one night's stay & the cleaning fee. The house was cleaned nearly 24 hours later. We have called the agency several x’s & the owner does not respond.
