I have no criticisms, whatsoever, of this hotel. The price for a late booking overnight stay and breakfast was very favourable compared to other hotels in the London area and the room was clean, comfortable and functional. The double bed was huge and there was also a good quality TV in the room. The Reception staff were very polite and helpful, and the cooked breakfast was more than adequate. The big winner for this hotel, though, was its location for those who wish to drive down to London from the north. It is just off the A41, a few miles south of where the A1 and M1 finish. It is so easy to get to and you avoid the heavy traffic that you would get nearer town. It even has free parking but I guess you would have to be lucky to find a place as it is rather small for the size of the hotel. The Underground is then a 5-minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again.
Despite its unprepossessing modernist exterior, somewhat incongruous in Hampstead, this was a good place to stay, near transport and restaurants, with a good well equipped room, pleasant helpful service and free parking. Basic breakfast was provided also. Very good price/quality ratio.
Front desk staff was very attentive during our stay starting with Dimitri. Housekeeping staff was very reliable as well. Location is very convenient in that the tube, pizza, sainsbury, waitrose, even kfc and the hair salon bojangles are all within a block or two or three away! I highly recommend this hotel it is away from the “congestion area” and free parking is provided to guests albeit limited.
I stayed in this hotel for 6 days for professionnal reasons in a double room with b'fast on the 4th floor at the back. The hotel is in prime location for access to Hampstead up the hill or anywhere via Finchley Road, West Hampstead tube or overground and lots of buses on Finchley road. From the outside the hotel is not engaging, especially as the free parking attracts a glut of builders' white vans during the week. So a bit surprising at first. But inside the hotel is very comfy and welcoming. Ground floor bar. Lift with very heavy door. Quiet at the back , probably also at the front as Frognal has little through-traffic. Room was large enough with good bed, seating room, large TV screen (UK channels only except a few international news channel in english). Small bathroom but adequate. Good service. Friendly staff. Breakfast room with cooked breakfast. Same things EVERY DAY hence not perfect grade. During our stay we noted a wide variety of guest constituencies, reflecting the charm of diverse London : tourists, builders, professionnals, beneficiaries of social housing, domestic or foreign. We all got on famously together in the breakfast room and the corridors. I did not use the free parking but this is obviously worth a lot. Wi-Fi was fast.
Staff friendly and kind. Good breakfast. The room has a good space and the bed is really comfortable (I was in a 2 single beds). The bathroom was great. It is really like the pictures of the hotel. The location is good, in a quiet street next to the subway.
This is a nice hotel. The location is great, close to shops, travel links, and places to eat, but not directly in Central London, so this makes it cheaper. there is parking at the hotel (though I didnt use it). This seems to be used by 'White Van Men' staying at the hotel, so the small carpark is packed with Transits. The staff are great, the most helpful I have found for some time. The rooms are large by London standards, but the whole place looks like it was last updated several decades ago. BUT everything is spotlessly clean and everything works. the beds are comfortable and clean. This is not a 'polished' hotel, is a bit basic, but its great value, the rooms are large and the staff great. ..... and there is a free breakfast!
Got a decent nights sleep in a comfortable bed. Bathroom and shower was to a good standard. The reception staff were excellent and friendly. A young gentleman was very quick to sort out the heating in my room. What didn't I like? Breakfast was in a sterile almost "school canteen" type environment. Not one of the staff spoke to me or made eye contact during breakfast. And I got no toast despite requesting it.
We were visiting our niece and we needed a hotel close to her place and the Quality fit. The rooms were clean and we had enough space for all our luggage etc. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. Included in the price was a full breakfast and there was a cold and hot side buffet. The hotel is also close to a tune station as well as a bus stop. This is a great value hotel.
We stopped here for two nights and it was as fine. My daughter is quite short so she took the additional bed. We don't see ourselves as fussy so overall it was a pleasant stay. The room was small and the breakfast was simple BUT for the cost it really was quality and nothing to grumble at. We wanted somewhere with parking at no additional cost and we got that although the car park was small. It's a good location for getting into London either by tube or train . We would recommend, it was clean, we slept well and the shower was great, just don't expect luxury !
We stayed here for 1 night. The main reasons for the choice were the cost, the free car parking and the close proximity to Finchley Road tube station, Our room was very clean and the receptionist polite and helpful. Breakfast is eaten in the basement and was adequate. On the night we stayed their were some noisy guests and as our room 112 was next to the stairs it was quite noisy. There was no shower curtain either just a narrow scree about 50 cm wide which meant that the bathroom floor became really wet and slippery when taking a shower.
