Spacious Dome Glamping Tent - Oahu #3
This simple accommodation creates a distraction free space to reconnect. You’ll love peering over the banana trees and watching the sun disappear beyond the mountain. There is incredible stargazing at this site. To top off your vacation bliss, the glamping tent is just a half mile from the beach!
What to Expect: Tent: A Queen Bed w/ a Sofa Sleeper and Solar powered string lights, towels, and picnic area for reminiscing about the days adventure. (Running on solar energy, please help us conserve power by using energy thoughtfully.)
ENERGY: To help us preserve energy, please charge all devices during daylight hours and avoid charging at night. Turn off the fans when gone for the day. The site runs on solar power and when everyone charges overnight, there may not be enough power for the bathrooms so we will have to wait for the sun to come up to give us energy.
Shared Off‑Grid Bathhouse: Solar powered, flushing toilets, and showers but no potable water. Currently running cold. Guests should be conservative with their water use since this is an off-grid facility with limited supply.
Geckos – These friendly little lizards are part of Hawaiian life. You’ll likely see them on walls or ceilings. They're harmless and actually help control insects, but if you're not used to wildlife, it's something to consider.
Wildlife & Insects: Nature plays host to local critters—frogs, geckos, chickens and yes, mosquitoes, and ants—so please don’t be surprised if you see them. We do our best with treating the surrounding areas to keep bugs to a minimal. We ask you to clean up after yourselves and seal/close any leftover food to help keep the insects to a minimum.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS CAMPING IN HAWAII, it is not a luxurious accommodation. (I know, we’ve said it a couple of times but it’s important that you know and that you are not caught off guard.) We cannot control the weather and we cannot control the bugs. Expect bugs, mud when it rains, geckos and wild chickens.
SUGGESTION: Check the weather report in advance to ensure that you are prepared for any weather conditions that could occur. Bring any bug repellent that you might need. Hawaii's rainy season is from October-March. Keep in mind that Hawaii is a tropical island so PLEASE be prepared for mosquitoes and other insects.
The apartment features a separate bedroom.

Clean and cozy glamping!
The bathrooms were kept very clean and the yurt was spacious and clean. It rained the entire time that we were there and nothing got into our yurt we stayed very dry. No bugs either! Check in was a breeze.

PCC Experience
One thing to remember is to bring towels if you plan to shower. We forgot to bring towels! There was body wash and shampoo that previous guests had left. The water in the shower is non-potable - but nice and warm. The night we were there, it got cold - and we could have used an extra blanket. The tent was very clean and spacious. The directions to get to the property were clear. We arrived during daylight, so it wasn’t difficult to find; however, if we had tried finding the property at night, we would not have been able to find it! It gets very dark! The lights in the tent are solar powered..

Overall Good
My husband and I were dropping our daughter off at school and the place we usually stay only had a few nights available so we found this for the last few nights. It was close and budget-friendly. Overall the stay was pleasant. The tent was clean and spacious and the property was beautiful. I only had a couple of complaints. One morning the water did not work because of a tripped breaker. This was fixed almost right away though, so no big deal. Our door was hard to open because it was sticking at the bottom. Here are a couple of suggestions for the owner. I would put a bug guard on the mattress. It was pretty dirty when we pulled the sheet up. I would also put the beds on a metal frame to help keep bugs off the bed. Since this is basically camping there are bugs and although we didn't get any on our bed, I would have felt better if we were off the ground. Lastly, having somewhere in the tent and in the bathrooms to hang things would have been helpful. Maybe a coat rack in the tent and an over-the-door hanger in the bathroom. I would stay here again if we were on a budget and couldn't find a house or hotel at a reasonable price. It was kind of an adventure. And really, what better place to camp than Hawaii with the perfect temperature!!Thanks for having this option for us. Mahalo!!
