Helix House

The property was great. Hot water was not working and they were slow to react. Other than that it was a good experience.

Needs new furniture

Views were spectacular but overall furniture was very uncomfortable to sit and relax in! This place needs updated and more comfortable furniture!

Excellent! Excellent!! Excellent!!!

This house is truly amazing, it's unique with amazing views. Additionally, checking in and communication in general with the host was effortless. My family and I (5 total) stayed at this property for the holidays and the space was exactly what we needed for some togetherness but there was also enough room so noone of us felt crowded. The house is cozy, the host was hospitable and we we'll be back!

Nice place

No complaints. Very upfront with pictures. Great view. Everything seems clean and well maintained. There is a in-law suite you share parking with but you don’t even notice them.

House looks fine, doesn’t measure up to expectations

The house was nice and had nice looking furniture and living spaces, but lacked comfortability. None of the furniture was comfortable, including the beds. While I appreciated the great view from the backyard/pool area, I was disappointed to learn that the pool was not heated. Didn’t learn this until I asked if there was a way to heat the pool after the first day of staying there; something that was not clearly disclosed in the booking (at least not very transparently). The house was clean, but we unfortunately found a dead rat out on the patio/pool area the day we arrived.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Nice modern home with fantastic outdoor spaces. Very cozy seating areas that were wonderful for gathering and enjoying conversations. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was fully stocked with basics and extras (coffee, paper towels, dish washer pods, dish soap, sponge and plenty of garbage bags). We received three toiletry bags (shampoo, body wash and lotion) and there was plenty of towels.CONS: The heating system - "The Nest" - we could not figure it out and when we reached out to Coast to Cactus they sent a link to a You-tube video showing how to use it. Come to find out that no matter what we did, we could not get it above 62 degrees. PLUS there were no vents in the back of the house to even heat these rooms! The only vents were in the two front areas. The week that we stayed it went down into the 40's. I strongly believe that the owners knew that their home was not heated adequately but chose not to mention this in the writeup. The home should have come with heaters so that we didn't have to walk around with blankets on trying to keep warm. Additionally, whoever decorated seems to have an obsession with naked women. Every room had either a picture or huge porcelain figurine of a naked women. There was even a naked woman picture in the laundry room - seriously!! Every room, you couldn't get away from it. This kind of decorating is really inappropriate in an vacation home. Especially for families.
