a hotel very close to the railway station and easy to reach other areas in Karlsruhe using the tram. Points to enhance: (1) the air conditions in the rooms are not working very well in summer (2) there is no washcloth in the bathrooms (3) the coffee machine in the breakfast area is slow and have a hard-to-understand user interface. Good: People are very friendly (beyond German average!)
I've stayed at the Schlosshotel in Karlsruhe twice over the past three years. It is extremely well situated being just across from the railway station "(Hauptbahnhof) . It's a lovely old building. Rooms are generous in size and the staff and service is excellent.
This is a great hotel for breaking a long train trip. It's 3 minutes from the station but not a cookie-cutter station hotel. Built in 1914, it has large rooms with tall ceilings and windows that open. The original lift is famous. I was in a larger single with a queen bed and it was the largest single hotel room I have ever been in. The hotel has been modernized, everything worked, it has AC, and the shower was good. Wifi is free and breakfast comes with the rooms. Windows are double-glazed and rooms very quiet. If you get a room on the zoo side, you can watch the animals. And I paid only 109 euros at the beginning of August. The restaurant is charming. The menu is fairly short but there is something for everyone including vegans. You can create your own 3- or 4-course menu. The fish was excellent and not swimming in butter as it so often is. Breakfast was good with cut fresh fruit and caprese among other items. My only complaint is that the hangers are attached to hooks on the rail and they are crammed into one-quarter of the closet, leaving half the closet useless. Hints: you can ask for a robe but bring your own washcloth and slippers. I had trouble finding the hotel. Be sure to exit the station on the city side, turn right and walk straight along the station to the end of the plaza. Look across the tram tracks and you will see a 5-story building. That's the hotel I would definitely stay here again!
Nice room on 4th floor. Sadly, no tea or coffee facilities in room. Breakfast quite good, typical Germany cold buffet style, machine serving coffee etc. Right by the station and the zoo. Zoo worth a visit as it is a park and zoo in one.
We arrived late having come down from a late flight into Frankfurt. And the night welcome was a bit tired. And, in parts, so is the hotel itself. But please don’t think it’s a reflection on the experience as a whole. We really enjoyed our stay. Our view of the Zoo was super and the walk into town was a pleasant 15 minutes The rooms has all you need although the bathroom is small. The bed was huge and comfortable. And the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is German and fresh and the breakfast room is really nice. It’s a better choice for us than the big Novotel sleep shop. But that’s just our taste Recommended in an I spectacular functional value for money way
The hotel is simply opposite the main entrance to Karlsruhe station and is 3 minutes from being on the platforms. Also well situated as a host of tram lines depart from just outside. Lovely hotel with a good breakfast and good choice and very comfortable indeed.
We have stayed here before. The hotel has been refurbished and is a great place to stay in Karlsruhe. Its about 100 metres to the main railway station and bus and tram stops. The rooms are fairly roomy and beds are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Its about 20 minute walk to the town centre. We ate dinner in the restaurant and found the meals to be ample quantity and very tasty.Breakfast was a good variety of dishes.A great hotel to stay in at Karlsruhe.
The Schlosshotel is situated directly opposite Karlsruhe's main railway station and thus is also convenient for S Bahn, tram and bus services to all areas of the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is good (apart from the coffee which comes from a machine and is so bad that even Starbucks is preferable) I got lucky on my second morning however: the coffee machine wasn't working so the kitchen staff made a jug of coffee for me which was rather good. So here's a tip for the management. Sell the coffee machine for scrap, and use the money to buy some jugs which can be used to serve decent coffee for everyone. Sorted! All in all, a good place to stay when visiting Karlsruhe.
This hotel is literally in front of the Karlsruhe main train station. This is great for catching the train, but it means you will be almost 2 km from city center. But it's also literally in front of the Zoo, so you can see some of the animals from the room. Bonus :) The building is truly nice, a well-conserved palace, with a century old lift. Our room was very spacious, bathroom very new, but as we were on the last floor, ceilings were lower than in floors below. Not a problem, but I guess downstairs rooms are nicer. Sleep quality was incredible, bed amazingly good. Continental breakfast very correct and copious, although end-of-the-year parties happening during same days meant a shortage of sitting places close to the buffet. Only minor point is personal. Although they seem to be overstaffed, at times there was only one at a crowded reception, or they were 4 at reception talking and not paying attention to guests in need of help, and bar was always empty.
A hotel with old world's charm right across the Karlsruhe Hbf. Very convenient if you are coming to Karlsruhe by a train. The rooms are clean and sufficiently spacious. The breakfast room is beautiful! Breakfast is adequate. Also, the wifi signal is good. To explore Karlsruhe, simply take the tram from in front of the Hbf. You can also purchase a day tram ticket from the hotel. Although we didn't try their bar, it looks very nice. All in all, a very comfortable stay.
