The property was beautiful and such a unique stay. As described, it is a treehouse vibe, with lots of birds, geckos, and frogs to enjoy. The stairs seem intimidating at first but aren't bad once you're used to them! The screens allow for natural ventilation, and it stayed quite cool throughout our stay. The upstairs has a nice view as well. Very short walk to the beach, and the property manager provided us with all the equipment necessary to enjoy the beach. The upstairs unit does not lock, so make sure to store valuables elsewhere. Parking is assigned, and the spot for this unit is a little tough to get into but definitely doable. The property is right next to a relatively busy road, so expect some traffic noise during commuting hours. The plus side of this is the property is also next to a bus stop for convenient free transportation into Kona!The customer service was fantastic, and beyond any others we've experienced in previous stays on the island. They provided us with a cooler upon request, ensured a smooth check in and out process, and they even accomodated a last minute additional night booking as we had a late flight and wanted some more time to relax on the property. I would absolutely recommend this location for folks looking for a reasonably priced, conveniently located place to stay on this side of the island.

We loved the canopy and jungle atmosphere, beautiful birds everywhere! Short walk to Magic Sands beach, and we loved being so close to a great snorkeling spot just south. The house had everything we needed, close to shopping center and great restaurants! We will be back!

Easy check-in. Location is amazing. We stayed for 5N/6D. Everything is available in the house. Kitchen is stocked. We did a lot of cooking there. KTA for groceries is about 4 min drive/ 6 min bus ride. There are two amazing beaches nearby. Magic Sand is 3 min walk, and Kahaluu (perfect for snorkeling) is 15 min walk. We walk and bus the whole time since we don't have a car. Beds are very comfy as well. Thank you Salty Jungle team! Amazing Kona vacation for us. See you again next year.

This place was a simple and no-frills place to sleep for our stay in Kona. Everything was as described in the listing and met our needs during our stay. We really appreciated the lanai and parking space, and loved how convenient the location was. I do, however, have a few notes. One thing that was not mentioned is that there was no way to lock the upstairs so we had keep all valuables either with us in our car or in the lower unit. Not a huge issue, but we were surprised by this. Additionally, there were no cleaning supplies other than dish soap in the unit - it would have been great to have some cleaning supplies available for us to tidy up after cooking to keep the ants at bay. Lastly, and most importantly, the place does have a pest problem. There was a hole in the upstairs roof that a rat chewed and we received nightly (loud) visits from the whole rat family. There was also a large hole in the upstairs screen which allowed the rats to run back and forth on the beams inside.There was rodent feces raining down on the beds and floor nightly and the rodents woke us up most nights. We live in Hawai'i and aren't bothered when some critters end up inside, however rodents are a human health hazard. I did message the property host about this but received no response. I work in invasive species control and am intimately familiar with rodent sign when compared other household pests in Hawai'i, in case there was any doubt about my ability to identify pest species and their sign.

Awesome Property

The property is beautiful, feels like you are in the jungle while only being a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute drive to town. Would definitely stay here again.
