Marriott's SurfWatch

We recently spent 11 days at Marriott's SurfWatch in a 3 bedroom villa. The staff were extremely friendly and got us into our room very quickly. It was very clean and modern. We requested a high floor and were on the 3rd floor overlooking a wooded area (room 1531), which was fine for us. If there was a downside to the room it was that there appeared to be some sort of leak on the carpet near the shower. We first noticed it when we arrived in the room, but thought that the wet carpet was due to a recent cleaning only to find out it didn't dry out. We informed Rosa at the front desk about it, but told her that we didn't want to change rooms at this time. I do wish that housekeeping had said something before we moved in, because I don't know how they could have missed it. Anyway, the rest of the property was very well-maintained. It is a short hike to the beach and beach pool (about 6 minutes), but we didn't seem to mind as it was a pleasant walk through the marsh. There are also golf carts available if you have a lot of stuff to carry. One complaint that I have is that although the beach pool has a nice bar where you can get drinks and food, there is no drinks or food available at the main pool. There were a lot of activities to choose from each day including continental breakfast (with Bloody Mary's), and an opportunity to win some good prizes if you sit outside and pay attention to the staff person and others as they share the various events around the island. There is also free Brats on Tuesday, along with a craft beer tasting. Unlike other Marriott's there are no wine and cheese socials which was a bit of a bummer. All in all we were very pleased with our stay at the SurfWatch and would highly recommend it to others.

As Marriott owners in other locations, we know that we'll be pleased with any of their properties. We were very impressed with SurfWatch and really enjoyed our week here. Our unit was away from the beach, but very quiet and comfortable. Everything was good, although we were surprised that there wasn't a ceiling fan in the living area. There were lots of activities offered and we really enjoyed the Raptor presentation and the Stargazing at the beach. We would definitely like to return!

We needed 2 villas for a 6 sibling + spouse gathering place. Surfwatch was the answer! As Marriott Vacation Owners, we needed something for our varied interests. Marriott got us in the same building on the same floor AND near the elevator!! We needed a crock pot one night, so we called and it was delivered quickly. Checked out skewers from front desk for our family night of s’mores. Grills were clean and easy to use. The garden view makes you feel like your in a nature preserve w/ all the various birds and turtles. If your family is competitive you’ve got outside basketball and volleyball courts, ping pong, shuffleboard, bocce ball, and putting green. We were in a villa farthest from beach...10 minute scenic, LEISURELY walk. Loved it, and it helped us get our 10,000 steps in. We rented a tandem for 24 hours which was nice b/c that made it possible to ride the paths AND the beach. Needless to say, everyone wants to return!

This is a perfect family resort in Hilton head. The rooms are very large and accommodate a family nicely. They are all suites. They come well-equipped with everything you would need for a family. The hotel layout is spread out so you don’t feel as though you’re on top of other families. There’s a few pools and the beach is very close.

Marriott SurfWatch is an Awesome resort ! Clean accommodations, Very Friendly Staff, Beautiful Grounds. The fire pits are Super !!! What a way to end the night !! Activities were fun !! My only complaint, is that on the weekends it would be nice to have live music at Sea Salts. I realize it is the change over days but it would be nice for the people arriving to be able to go to Happy Hour with live music. Just a thought to make it more Welcoming and Fun! A really nice Family Resort !!!

We have stayed on Hilton Had Island several times since 1972, and this was the best of the best. Very friendly staff clean and comfortable accommodations and lots of activities for visitors. Of all the time share properties we have been too this was the best.

My wife and I have been coming to Hilton Head for years and now just stayed at this fantastic property for the first time. Wow! All these years and now we found Marriott Surf Watch. We have always stayed in A Sea Pines condo because we needed a three bedroom unit. We just returned from a great vacation in Hilton Head and when we return to Hilton Head next year we will be staying at the Marriott. The resort has a lot to offer, our unit was clean, very modern and the staff was exceptional.

I actually recommended the property to my family being that I had visited/stayed here before. I loved it! My young kids loved it! My family loved it! Thank you again SurfWatch for making my return trip just as good as the previous one!

Nothing to complain about with this resort after a one week stay. Loved everything about it....everything. 5 stars! Rooms are nicely decorated and all the amenities. Helpful front desk associates. yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

this is a villa setting, so we had a 2 bedroom room which was extremely comfortable for 2 couples. a very large functional kitchen which we used for making meals. the living room had a nice tv but it had some dvds and a dvd player for our entertainment. we didn't use it, but it was a nice touch for the type of guest we were. we had a nice balcony overlooking a very nice heated pool and small view of the ocean, which was only a couple of hundred yards away. we had free parking which was nice. the staff that i interacted with were very friendly, outgoing, and very responsive. they definitely understand the service industry and made me feel that they value my business (which i expect). the fitness center on site was quite surprisingly large and had an array of equipment to choose from.
