Holiday Inn Express Hillsville

My husband and I stayed here on our way from Florida to Maine. It was a quick overnight visit, so did not really have time to use the indoor pool or fitness center. The lady that checked us in (09/05 at 8:00pmish) was super nice and it was super quick! The hotel is either new or has been remodeled, so very nice for a Holiday Inn. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. Comes with a fridge, microwave & big flat screen tv - which is nice. Breakfast in the morning was pretty standard, but well stocked and fresh. I would totally recommend this hotel if you are staying the night in Hillsville!

We recently stayed here on our way through on I-77. Hotel was either new or recently renovated. Front desk was very pleasant and accommodating. Room felt new, clean and quiet. Only minor issue we had was finding the hotel from the road. We drove around for a few minutes before we found a way to cut through another hotel parking lot to get to this hotel. We would stay here again if in the area

An unexpected stop forced by a storm and fog turned into a very pleasant surprise. The desk clerk was helpful, friendly, and efficient. The room was sparkling clean, the mattress was firm, and the breakfast was more than adequate. The room was spacious and the furnishings were convenient and useful. The location, right off I-77 , is convenient as it makes a great stopping point for our monthly treks between North Carolina and Ohio.

Hotel has modern vibe. Obvious recent updates however I'm always amazed at the quality of the craftsmanship. Hotels must take a cost savings when contracting the work out. Rooms were clean and of good size. Pool was clean and new-looking. Breakfast was average - typical for this chain. They did have a pancake maker which was the first time I saw such a thing. Tea/coffee and cookies available at 10pm when we checked it. Staff were courteous. New employee seemingly training when I made my reservations. She had to ask questions of a colleague, which was fine however it would have been more professional to mention this since the line was active and I could hear everything being said. Would stay here again if needed during travel

We always stay here because it's about halfway between our home and the NC beach where we vacation. We get a suite because everyone gets their own bed that way. The recent renovation has made this a super-clean and nice place. Good breakfast bar and the bathrooms are excellent, with the best shower heads (Kohler Stay Smart showerhead). Shoney's is next door where there is always a buffet, breakfast or dinner.

This hotel is conveniently located to art 77. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express. Staff was very friendly. Coffee was set up in the lobby area, it must have been there for awhile because it was cold, other than that it was a nice place to stay while traveling.

Second stay at this hotel. No complaints...I didn't use the pool. I used the workout room which was nice and cool. Plenty of room for me to my own personal workout. A cup for the water cooler would have been nice. I did get one from the lobby after I was finished. Breakfast was fine. They had pancakes on a Saturday morning which was nice. No problems with the room. I did like the shade instead of the curtains and the thermostat on the wall. I would stay here again.

Was charged for a "no-show" fee ($359). Made a trip to the hotel, but they would not help resolve. Told me "we'll do what we want to do...you can take it up with corporate". They told me I had a reservation there, but would not, and could not, prove that there was ever a confirmation sent to me. When I pulled into the parking lot, it was vacant. Now I know why. When I asked, they said they were booked solid over the weekend, but they didn't realize I had called the night before (early morning) , and they had several options. Another LIE!

We stopped at this hotel on the way home from vacation. Right from the start we were impressed - the lobby was very clean and welcoming. The desk clerk was helpful and efficient. When we got to our room, we were surprised at how nice and extremely clean it was - I have never stayed in a room so immaculate! It was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning had really good choices. The bed was very comfortable and I absolutely loved the pillow, so much in fact that I purchased one from the manufacturer when I got home! I would definitely stay here again!

Stopped at midnight hoping to grab some sleep on the way home from the beach. It was awful. You could hear every door open and close. I awoke at 6am to what sounded like a drilling noise it was the sink faucet. Then I listened to the ppl above us shower, you would have thought it was in the room it was so loud. I arrived after midnight with a 15 and 16 year old and she put us next to the exit door. The constant opening and shutting of the door was horrific. I'm just as tired as I was when I arrived. I should have saved the $150 and pulled over and slept in my car. When we arrived she told me there was a door to use at the end of the hotel next to our room when we tried go in we could not get in the door. I took the key to her to fix and she said the card reader was broken. Seriously? Why did you send me to a broken door?! The place is newer, modern and the breakfast was usual. The beds were fine. Maybe ask for a top floor room. The low rating is because we needed a place to get some sleep and this hotel failed horribly.
