The Bear Mt. Inn is such a beautiful facility in a gorgeous setting. My family from Texas LOVES going there! The place is rustic but so much fun to stay in. We prefer the Inn but the Overlook Lodge is amazing too. If you are a hiker and outdoor enthusiast, this is a great place.

Stopped here for a night before visiting the USMA. Was disappointed in the cleanliness of our room - dirty tub and used glasses in the room. Expected more for the money. Staff was very friendly and informative.

Tricky to find. Main Lodge is a historic property where we stayed. Stunning views of the Hudson in the main lodge. No elevator, so request a first floor room if hauling your bags up (two floors) to get to the second floor would be a problem. Very basic continental breakfast. Dining is not close, but staff gave directions to town. Warning: there are little cabins/lodges scattered on the property that are not the main lodge.

Charming and rustic, located in a State Park. Comfortable lobby with tables and board games. lovely view of Hudson River valley. Staff is helpful with directions to dining . Basic continental breakfast and no dining area. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR and NO BELL STAFF so be sure to request a first floor room if climbing a full flight of stairs with your luggage is a problem.

My favorite part about the place was the outside balcony in the lobby. Enjoyed drinking complimantary coffee and tea there in the moring. The view was wonderful and the rooms where updated and clean. Cant wait to go back!

highly recommended, beautiful natural surroundings

This is our favorite inn, which is surrounded by beautiful nature, and the inn is decent and very pleasant to stay. We always enjoy a nice, quiet night at the lobby with the family, but this time a few night staff (guys) were talking loud and cursing for almost an hour while we were staying in the lobby. It was so unpleasant and we felt that the quality of this inn went down. It is very disappointing, but besides that we enjoyed our stay!

We stayed during the off season to visit our son at West Point. Noreen at the front desk couln't have been nicer. Our room was in one of the four cabins (6 nice size rooms with Queen bed per cabin) overlooking Hessian lake; very cool and rusic. Each cabing has a central living room with a large fireplace, couch, table and chairs and area with small sink, fridge and microwave. A unique setting and worthwhile experience! It was less expensive than several of the lower rated motels only two or three miles closer to West Point.

So I was a little anxious going because of the other person's review...It was confusing how they gave the place a 4 with the other experience they had but it made sense after I went! Place is great - very clean, friendly staff, fireplace and great views. I would have given it a 5 if the breakfast had more variety, and I couldn't adjust the room temperature back down after I initially increased the temperature. But considering the price I bought it at, this was a perfect quick getaway for me!!

It's an adventure for us. First, it's a little bit hard to find after dark, no lights at road entering to the hotel, took us about half hour drove around before finally found the hotel lobby. Second, when we registering, the clerk could not find my reservation in their system. After showing the reservation email, the clerk gave us 2 cabin rooms without WIFI(I booked 2 stardard main buiding rooms). We drove to the packing lot, and tried to find to room, but it's kind of scary, no light at all and could not see the walking path. We spent about 20 minutes but still could not find the room, had to come back to ask the clerk's help. The kind clerk helped us find the room, but there are so many bugs flying around and dog in next door keep barking. We decided not to stay in the cabin, so ask the clerk if any room available in the main building. The clerk told us only one room available, we had to wait until 11pm when the manager showed up to find another room with wet carpet due to the AC problem for us. Finally, we settled in 2 rooms in the main building. The rooms in the main building are nice, clean, and comfortable. The view from main lobby in the morning was nice.
