No Hard Sell! We stayed at the Suites at Hershey this past week and it was nice. This was the first timeshare resort I have been to that did NOT have a sales team trying to push a timeshare on you. This made the Hershey experience that much better. It is located a mile from Hershey Park, Chocolate World and right across a non-busy street from the outlet mall. The kids enjoyed the pools and the free game room. In our room, I thought the AC could have been a little better. I am not a AC engineer, but the air flow is a bit off and we ended up having to close off certain doors and vents to get the air flow working better, but is still felt stuffy in the master bedroom. If we stay again, I will bring a fan to help circulate the air better. Despite this, the no pressure atmosphere made for an excellent stay.
Rooms were clean and well kept. Staff were all very friendly. The rooms were all close to an outlet mall, a brewery, and Hershey park. Have yet to have a bad stay at a bluegreen resort, always pleased.
Had a great stay. Very friendly staff. Clean condo and quiet location. Train tracks are right behind the buildings but did not bother us at all. Trains just bringing chocolate supplies to Hersery😄. Very convenient to area attractions. Really enjoyed our stay there.
We stayed at the Suites at Hershey this past weekend (June 2017). It was wonderful! Pros: Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows Shampoo/Conditioner and soap smelled amazing Full dish service for 8 people Multiple pots and pans and everything else we needed to make our own breakfast and dinners during our stay. Washer/Dryer in the suite which I somehow missed on the website! That was a great surprise! Full size fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Dish washing soap and laundry soap available in the unit Room darkening blinds in the bedrooms Fun game room for the kids including ping pong, foos ball, air hockey and 2 video games Small but clean pools Friendly check in/check out staff Cons: Only 2 dish washer packets in the room so we had to ask the front desk for more. The parking spaces underneath the building are tight so if you have a bigger car you should park outside. The water pressure in the shower was weak. Not a big deal but something to note. Note: We stayed in the building closest to the railroad tracks with rooms looking out onto the tracks. We could definitely hear the trains but it was not as bad as some other reviewers make it out to be. It did not wake our kids (7 & 9) up at night.
This will be our first time here and so far after checking in, clean, room, lots of space for 4 adults, nice kitchen. Has WiFi and has a pool and hot tub, I haven't checked them out yet but plan on it, looking forward to this week seeing Hershey and all it has to share
we had 3 rooms, for 3 girl scout troops. We had a great stay. room was clean, all kitchen items looked brand new. Spacious bathrooms and girls loved the indoor pool. Going back in Sept.! Security man on at night was very pleasant when we needed sheets and blankets. Bed was very comfortable.
Our recent stay at this hotel was awful! We booked a stay at the Suites at Hershey over a year in advance, and we were so excited for our vacation. We arrived at the hotel and the check in was effortless and smooth. Our room was decent, not as clean as we are used too (stains on the rugs and a bit smelly), but spacious enough for two adults and two children aged 8 and 10. The first night was sleepless. The train goes by the hotel often and is so loud that it woke up our children and us numerous times. We awoke tired and cranky the next day, but eager to get to the park and enjoy our day. Not the case....one of the bathroom toilets started running after flushing and proceeded to literally pour out water. We called the front desk and asked for maintenance asap since our bathroom was filling with water. Someone came up about 15 minutes later and our bathroom and hall area to bedroom was filled with water and feces. The poor maintenance guy was wonderful and began to clean things up by throwing hotel towels on the floor. We were told to go out for the day and come back and the room would be clean. NO WAY! The room was uninhabitable, filled with Ecoli and there was no way that we were staying in the room. It needed to be professionally cleaned. We wanted to move to another room immediately and get ourselve and our belongings out of there. The maintenance man said to speak with the front desk. We left our hotel room and went to the front desk and were told that there was no manager in that day, so we went to the park to salvage what time we could while we awaited the call from the manager. I called the front desk after two hours of no call, and asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager on duty once again and they left several messages on his phone. That's fine, it's a Sat. I asked for them to have him contact me so we could be moved to another room. Front desk said that was not an option since they were sold out. I asked for a refund and explained that we would move to another hotel. They said that was our choice and left it at that, with no hope of pre paid refund. The manager finally called me back about four hours later! We had no room, no plans to move to another hotel and it was already 4pm. All the neighboring hotels were booked as well since it was the weekend the park opened. We were panicking and thinking we would have to make the five hour trip home, exhausted, with two disappointed kids. The manager was nice on the phone, but said he didn't have the authority to do anything bur refund us one night. If he doesn't have the authority who does??? Does this multi million dollar company not have the ability to assist a guest in need of a clean, sanitary room??? I explained that we had booked three nights and had spent our first day on the phone trying to arrange for a safe room for ourselves and our children. He said he would not do anything other than the refund. We were told that we had to get our things out of the room by 5pm if we wanted to leave, however, it was already 4pm at this time and we were in the park, which meant now we had to leave the park early after arriving late! He then said he miraculously had another room but it was right below and to the side of the flooded room. I have included pictures and a video so that the gravity of this flood is understood. Our room was on the second floor. The flood from our toilet effected the room directly below us and was raining out of the ceiling of the bottom floor parking garage. At this point, I was furious. Our children's belongings that were in the bathroom were compromised by water and feces and clothes and toiletries had to be disposed of, our first day of the trip was ruined because it was spent on the phone rather than enjoying our children, we had to leave the park early in order to collect our belongings and move to another hotel, which we had to pay for! There were no apologies, no attempt other than refunding one night to make things right. I'm certain that the people below us were cleared out due to the flood and the plan was to clean their room and offer it to us and switch them or a new arrival to our old room. Gross! A dear friend of mine works in hotel management and agreed that the second our room was compromised we should have been moved to another room that was clean and safe for our kids; not sent away to go to the park to continue the arrangements via phone and then have our park day end early anyway. TERRIBLE customer service and treatment of guests. When we returned to the hotel room the water spill had been cleaned, but the rug was still soaked and the room reeked of poop. It was disgusting. I feel terrible for the guest who I'm sure they booked the room for since we departed. I hope that their small children aren't crawling around on a feces water drenched rug. Disgusting. There were no measure taken to ensure that the mess was properly cleaned. Just a clean up by using hotel towels, a bit of carpet fresher and a vacuum. unacceptable. So, we were left hauling our items out of a disgusting hotel room and left to find a room on our own. Thankfully, when we explained the situation to Hershey Lodge, they graciously took us in and offered us comps on their end! And it wasn't even their fault. They treated us with compassion and understanding. Blue Green Resorts needs to revamp their customer service so that people who are hoping to enjoy a much needed vacation don't end up in a disrupted weekend of drama!!!
We traded into this resort through RCI. The Suites are conveniently located near all entertainment venues in Hershey and are within an hour's drive of Lancaster County and Gettysburg. The suites are across the street from, and an easy walk to, the Tanger Outlet Stores. Parking for our suite was under the building and close to the elevators. This was really nice, especially on the couple of hot days we had in the 90s. The furnishings and linens were average and about on par with resorts of this type. Our suite could sleep 8 but would be tight if all 8 were adults. The guest room had two double beds and there was a pullout couch in the LR which sleeps two. Master BR has one king-sized bed and a separate vanity/bathroom. There is no mid-week tidy up included unless you want to pay an extra $80. Room amenities are advertised as "stocked for an average week's stay", but there were no back up on supplies in the room. A half used roll of paper towels, one dish towel, and one dish cloth was supplied for the kitchen. There was a basket in the kitchen with starter coffee packets and popcorn. The reception desk staff readily provided extra toilet paper, etc. but you had to go to the front desk and ask. The bathrooms included a nice sized lotion, bath soap, and shampoo & conditioner. As mentioned by most reviewers, the train was a very significant presence! We were on the third floor of the building closest to the tracks. If you are a light sleeper and can not fall back to sleep easily, the train whistle could be a problem since all the buildings back up to the track. Maybe a room with windows facing east would be quieter? While the suites are not located at a train crossing, many of the trains blow their whistle while passing the suites. The trains are industrial in nature. No passenger trains. No trains carrying "chocolate" that we could identify. The view from our room looked out over multiple sets of tracks. This could be entertaining for kids who may not get a chance to see trains often or little ones still enthralled with trains. On the grounds in back of the suites is a gazebo, small play area, and a raised platform to watch for trains. All of the grounds are attractive and well maintained. There is usually free coffee in the reception building. The pools and pool area are small but nicely maintained. The outside pool does not open until Memorial Day weekend. Tip: room keys can be left in room when checking out. If possible, and if you're picky about the train noise, see if you can request a room location or building ahead of time and a room facing east. We were told at check-in they were full and no room changes could be made.
Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious and recently updated. We were conveniently located to Hershey Park and other attractions. We enjoyed sitting at the fire pit with a glass of wine in the evening. The Tanger outlet is across the street which is very convenient. We would love to stay here again.
Great location, huge 2 bedroom suite, full kitchen, free parking, shopping across the street, clean and quiet - we had a wonderful stay here!! Forget the reviews that complain about train noise. My whole family and I slept right through it. Yes, we heard the trains on and off during the day, but it was a muffled noise at a distance, not as disturbing as some of the reviews suggest. Hersheypark is so close, probably closer than their own hotels. My kids loved the small playground and the huge pool. Great places to dine nearby, or you can cook meals in your full size kitchen. Close to highways if you want to do day trips, which we did, to Harrisburg or Lancaster. If you haven't stayed here yet, it's perfect for families with 4 or more people.
