Check-in was easy, the kitchen was amazing, and Wi-Fi worked great. The in-door pool was a big hit. There was a lot of room to spread out and/or to gather together. The third floor Pirate's outlook was a big hit with the kids. Everyone thought that the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was nice, as was the fire pit. The paddle boards and kayaks were fun as well.

Weekend Paradise

Such an incredible property. Core memories were certainly made with our family from my son catching his first fish, to kayaking with sting rays, this was just an amazing mini get away.

Exceeded all expectations

I almost don’t want to write this review bc then I’ll have to compete with more people next time we want to rent this property but it really is something! We had two families with a total of 5 children under 5. The house was perfect. Huge kitchen with everything. There was even a crib for the baby! The heated pool tired everyone out. The beach was lovely. The pier was perfect for the kids to jump into the water and swim to shore. After bedtime, the fire pit was nice to unwind. Cant say enough good things. Perfect for families. No notes!

Mitchell Fest 2024

Reliving old memories from when my grandparents took the family to Chesapeake Bay beaches for vacation. Now with a very large family, finding a place that can accommodate our crew is very hard. Also, tired of the crowds at Ocean City and other spots, this large house and it’s beautiful location fit my needs beautifully.

Lovely Beach House by the Water

Fabulous place. Very clean and user friendly (labeled light switches, clear directions left on countertop). Kids (and grownups!) LOVED the indoor pool and the “mermaid shower” in the main downstairs bedroom. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful weekend getaway.

Great family gathering

Family and friends gathered to meet the newest member of our family. The home is gorgeous and very clean. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and spent many hours catching up around the table. The little ones liked going up to the pirates watch to look out. Adults played the arcade games. Everyone enjoyed the pool to swim at any time of day or night. We had warm weather to swim and sit on the beach. At many times the river water was like glass, adding to a relaxed atmosphere. You should wear water shoes since the beach is made up of shells and pebbles. The owner was very responsive to questions. We hope to return again.

Spacious, relaxing, family-friendly getaway

We had multiple families with kids ranging from 1-8, and we all had a great stay. The location is remote and there’s not much to do nearby, but the house has everything you need to stay entertained! The pool was a huge hit, and although the river had a crazy amount of jellyfish, we were still about to enjoy the beach and went out kayaking and fishing. The video games were also a big hit! If you want to get out of the house, I highly recommend Westmoreland State Park. We took a short hike down to Fossil Beach and my kids had a blast using sifters to find shark teeth. At night, we enjoyed the fire and a dip in the hot tub.

Great house!

Perfect house for kids, teens, adults, everyone! Kids loved the huge pool which we used a lot on a rainy day and at night and one day we had too many jellyfish at the beach. Loved this kitchen! We made many large meals and enjoyed doing it with several ovens and equipment at our disposal! Kids loved the arcade and video games. We went to dinner at Cole’s Point Tavern - seafood pizza and crab legs were excellent! House was huge and fit our entire group of 11 adults and four kids quite nicely! Everything came with nice directions/instructions/labels so we weren’t spending all our time trying to figure out how to use something or find something - very nice touch! We would highly recommend this rental to anyone! Thanks for having us!

Beautiful house with a beautiful view

We had an amazing time, the house was exactly as advertised and the pool was perfect for cooling off after lying out on the dock. The view of the river was incredible and we had no trouble checking in or using any of the amenities. Would definitely come back!

4th of July Stay

Our group had an amazing time at this home celebrating 4th of July and my 30th birthday. The home is beautiful, even bigger than the photos, and has so many activities both indoors and outdoors. I would highly recommend this home!

Family reunion

We gathered our kids and grandkids from around the country and met up in Hague, VA. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. The space was perfect for our almost 20 people and could’ve comfortably supported more. Unfortunately, it was smoky due to the fires in Canada and around the U. S. and that did hamper our outdoor activities a bit but we were able to enjoy the water with the provided kayaks etc. The pool and hot tub were perfect as well! The home had so much to offer from the lovely decor, numerous gathering spaces and entertainment for all ages with books, games, and video game options. I highly recommend this rental!

We had a blast!

There was 17 of us from all over the Northeast. We can together to enjoy the holiday together. We canoed, hiked and overall enjoyed the outdoor aspects of this property. The owners were very responsive! We would stay again and hope tooo soon.

Beautiful!

The property was beautiful - the perfect place to see a sunrise. We lucked out and had beautiful weather for late October, so we took full advantage of sitting on the dock, soaking in the hot tub, and the using the firepit. The furniture in the house, particularly the main level, was lovely. The beds were comfortable. The indoor pool really is as good as the pictures suggest. The owner, Nick, was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely come back.

Amazing waterfront house!!

We love this house! There was plenty of room for our large family and was perfect for kids and seniors! Loved the crib and baby bath too! The view is gorgeous and we enjoyed fishing and crabbing on the nice dock, swimming and kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. The pool is huge and very safe with the doorbell alerting the house when someone opens the door (great for small kids!). The owners were accessible and very helpful! We would love to come back. Thank you!

Don't miss the sunrise over the water!

The property is absolutely lovely! We had an eclectic group of young adults & elders (and 2 dogs) for a small family get together and there was something to do for everyone and plenty of space for all. You don't want to miss seeing the sunrise across the water - it's definitely worth waking up early to catch. The indoor pool was divine and used daily. The arcade was a big hit too as it had many old classics for everyone to enjoy! Some of the games didn't work but there was such a vast selection that it didn't matter. We enjoyed s'mores by the fire and fishing off the dock. One member of our group even caught a small sting ray! There were a lot of jellyfish in the water so unfortunately we did not hop in. The open floorplan allows everyone to be together comfortably. We appreciated having 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the first floor for our seniors who needed to avoid stairs. The rooms themselves were all MUCH bigger than the pictures in the listing which was a pleasant surprise. The big living room & dining room area had an amazing view and allowed for the younger group to stay up and play board games, without worrying about noise disturbing those sleeping on the first floor. The lookout was a nice hangout option as well! The location is remote but that was the point, we wanted to get away and spend time with family we had not seen in a while, so we appreciated this aspect. We did visit the Hague Winery for wine tasting and the owner was very nice. We also checked out Cole's Point Tavern (their seafood pizza is the BEST!). The owners were communicative and check in and out instructions were very clear. We appreciate their help during our stay and could not recommend this property more! You won't regret it :) it's gorgeous all around

No need to leave

We spent a week here with our extended family and never left. There is no need to. You have the pool and the river and all the other amenities in this house which are amazing. We enjoyed the video games and the kayaks and paddleboards. The kids had a blast fishing from the dock. We all loved the mattresses and all slept so great for the whole week. The added bonus of the sound machines in the rooms were a great idea. The front room is beautiful and makes you feel like you are outside when you are inside the air conditioning. We had family themed dinners each night around that table. The pool is so warm and easy to get into, we enjoyed, family pool parties and even did water aerobics. There is so much to enjoy at this house, you will feel truly relaxed upon staying here. It was a great place to reconnect with family we don't get to see very often. Plenty of space for 10 of us old and young to all have our own space yet feel togetherness.

BEAUTIFUL RELAXING PROPERTY

I loved our stay. We got there and needed to contact owner due to receiving the wrong code for the door. Owner immediately responded and remedied the problem within minutes. The properties hosts were very nice and helpful. Property was fully stocked with plates silverware cooking utensils, etc There was only 9 of us but could have easily fit double. The kids immediately explored the large house claiming beds in the adorably decorated rooms upstairs. The hung out in the lookout a lot together. There were games and a tv up there. The main floor was gorgeous. The pool was a lifesaver and entertained the kids much of the time. When kids weren’t in the pool they were jumping off the deck or paddle boarding or kayaking. Adults had fun with the water sports too. Adults also enjoyed drinks on the beach or huge deck or by the fire pit. I LOVED kayaking alone in the morning with a cup of tea (so peaceful) While there were nearby neighbors (mostly only there on weekends) they were nice and the property seemed very private. Lots of room for kids and our dog! It’s I very small quiet town that’s only open part of the week so def do your research and hit the Food Lion on the way there for meals at the house. We did make it to Coles Point Tavern 5 minutes away. Food was ok but view and cocktails worth cost. We also went to Cygnets Restaurant early and it was adorable good food! Our favorite outing was about 10 minutes away Hague Winery. Steve, one of the owners of the winery, was a great host, knowledgable about not only wine but the area (including a lot of its history) and very accommodating to adults and kids. Friendly advice: Stop on the way at the many roadside firewood sales-you’ll need a bit of cash. Bring shade for the beach -we had to go to Walmart 40 minutes away to get a tent for shade. Have most meals at the house-stock up bc Food Lion seems the closest and is 20/25 min away. It was a great vacation. One the kids will remember forever and for us that was what it was all about.

Family Vacation

Great property. Extremely remote-more than we anticipated, but worked well with our family and in the long run, we LOVED just hanging around the house and enjoying the amenities . The owner was very attentive and responded very quickly in resolving our minor issues. Highly recommend this property!
