Checked, nothing offered since I am an award holder with them. Woke to the bed above us, sounding like it was coming through the ceiling. Went to Front desk, she called to tell them to quite down, a few mintues later, they started walking louder across the floor. Turned the ac on to drowned out the sound. So, in the am I go to the desk to complain and to tell them their light cover fell from the ceiling in the vending room and almost hit me. I asked for a discount, the on duty person at the desk(refused to give me her name) said she would contact the GM. I waited. Things only got worse from there. She threatened to have us removed from the hotel if we did not leave by 9:30am. She also had another employee at the desk, making smart remarks to me. I felt threatned and I feel they were very racisit to me(I am white). The 2 lady had no business getting involved, when she had not been there earlier. Needless to say we left, no discount. Husband calls to ask for the managers message machine, and because he would not state his name, she hung up again. I have never in my life been threatened by hotel staff, for something so petty has giving me a discount. I am in the process of filing Racisit charges against this hotel And I am playing the White color card this time. Her actions were totally uncalled for, and yes I was irrate you would be too, if I cover almost hit you in the head. Terrible food, terrible service. AC filter, so clogged, we could hardly breath in the room. Cracked drain in the sink, almost sliced my hand open. Water comes out very slow from shower, could hardly rinse my hair. I really hope someone responds to this review. I am also filing this with the BBB and Corporate, you might treat others this way, BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE CHANCE TO TREAT ME LIKE THAT EVER................My company will now be going somewhere else for bookings as well. The 2 people(cause they sure weren't educated woman) need to learn Customer Service and not BE RACISIT towards White People...............
Beginning with the person who answered my call from the road to the next morning when we checked out, the staff at this hotel were terrific! They were very pleasant, welcoming and competent. The room was clean and comfortable. We were just passing through and did not expect to find such a great place to stay on short notice. Thanks to the staff, especially Shisken, for making us feel welcomed and comfortable.
The hotel itself is nice, and the staff has never offended me. It's the price and cancellation policy that is what's off about this hotel. I can stay in another Comfort Suites, albeit 30+ minutes down the road, for almost $100 less, most of the time. I checked the price yesterday, and the AAA rate for me was $179/night. For a Comfort Suites that's indiscernible from other Comfort Suites? No thanks, and it's my boss's money! If they can sell out with that rate, then more power to them. In addition, with my job, I sometimes I have to cancel the day of arrival due to the demands of my customers. Most hotels have a 4 p.m. the day of arrival deadline for cancellation. I'm not sure when the deadline is for this one is, but I had to call the night before to cancel a reservation because the deadline had passed on the website. It's simply unacceptable. Luckily I'm a Choice Privileges diamond member, and they didn't give me a hard time. However, my coworker, who I was training and also had a reservation but is not yet a diamond member, was not treated with the same respect. This was 20 hours before the listed check in. Unacceptable. I probably won't go back.
First, it's Spartansburg, so everything decent is expensive, usually I can get a hotel of this quality for 50%-75% of the price. That all said, this is the best alternative. Roomy, quiet, large TV, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Restroom is typical cold and hot items, mixed with sugary stuff. It's nearby many restaurants and shopping off the interstate so that's a bonus.
For a short business trip, the facility was efficient in terms of its location, and the basic services offered. Room was clean and quiet. Morning breakfast ample with the basics. Front Desk Staff was courteous. Close to several restaurants with relative ease getting and from nearby highway. Checked a lot of boxes and the price per night was reasonable
We stayed here while in town for a soccer tournament this weekend. Check in was easy and the hotel clerk was very friendly. Our room was very clean and our suite had comfortable king bed and sleeper sofa. Breakfast was very good and had a great variety: eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, bagels, pastries, cereal, waffles, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, etc.
This is a modern hotel and VERY clean and upscale decor. In addition to hot breakfast, they have free snacks and drinks (soda, beer and wine) at 5:30. The rooms were very large and comfortable. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. We will stay here again.
Our room was large with a sofa, desk microwave and small refrigerator. The shower was not very hot, but acceptable. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, hot sauce, sausage, gravy, biscuits, cereals, apples, bananas, yogurt, etc. Too much was all in one corner, so, hard to get to if a few people around - just like many other places - I prefer easier to maneuver around areas - but that's how it is. Pretty outdoor pool area. Entire place is nicely designed and decorated. Wall light switches are touch type, with motion detectors for auto turning off, took awhile to figure out . Touch bottom of switch and wait a second for it to turn on. The location is ideal. It's across the street from a large indoor shopping mall, and many good restaurants close by. We did like it enough here that we made reservations again for our next trip here.
Although I found the staff to be unfriendly and not accommodating, the hotel was clean and acceptable. It is in a convenient location, near the mall and plenty of entertainment and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was fine with a reasonable selection of options.
Friendly staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean and well attended to. We always look for Choice Hotels when traveling. This one was in a grat location with access to restaurants.
