The location is great, away from all the busyness. And the view of the water behind the house was nice. The size of the house is great for large groups, other than the living room area. Overall the house is nice, but could use some small but simple improvements.

Mardi Gras retreat

I took the family to Galveston to enjoy the city and its Mardi Gras celebration. We rebooked this house since we loved staying at this property the previous year. Plenty of room for a large family. Far enough out of town for a quiet relaxing weekend but not so far as to be out of the way. The western facing balconly provided beautiful views or the sunset. Will be back!

Lovely location/home, but lacking...

The location and home are stunning. No 5th bedroom as advertised so we had to get a hotel for part of our family. No ok cooking pots/pan. Kitchen sink facet loose and no hot water in kitchen... etc.

Was good but could have been great.

Overall my friends and I enjoyed our stay ash’s will definitely be back in Galveston. The house was beautiful with amazing views, with the cold weather, the house was warm and accommodated all of us well. The only issues I had with the house was some of the burgers of the stove was not working, as well as little to no cooking stencils and supplies. There was an elevated but was shut off for guests to use and the downstairs room held 3 people but they had to leave the room and come out of the house and come up the stairs just to use the restroom and be apart of the rest of the group. It could have been five if they had elevator access but they did not. The host communicated with us throughout the stay and was very attentive. In the future if I stay here again, I’d wish for the elevator to work. :)

Not a 5 bedroom house

It's really a 4 bedroom house, with a closet off of one of the bedrooms with 3 stacked twin beds. Luckily one of our families cancelled at the last minute. Also some basic condiments in the kitchen would be helpful, ie. salt, pepper. Other than that the house was comfortable, peaceful with a beautiful view of the bay.

Small family

We stayed here as a little staycation to be close to the beach while I flew in from out of town and was very pleased with the property. Very nicely kept, clean and you can’t beat the view. The manager was always great to communicate with and it was great that we were able to bring our pets.

Wonderful Vacation

House was great location was amazing, but the only let down not enough tv and thr description wasn't correct it states 6 bathroom and it only 4.5 and the bedroom down stairs very small with no acess to a bathroom

Could be a great house

To start off- we were very disappointed in this home. We had stayed a few months ago in a similar size home in Galveston and it was amazing and not available this time, so we tried something different but with similar reviews. The maids hadn't been there when we arrived at check-in at 4pm. They came right after and stayed 35 minutes. The home was dirty, had ants, the couch was torn and had nasty stains- which I used sheets to cover- and the home has a lot of deferred maintenance. There were not enough dishes to cook, plenty to eat off of but the ants kept us from doing that, we had to buy paper goods. No tables to sit at for dinner, etc., except outside but there is plenty of room for tables inside. The mosquitoes were way too bad to sit outside, ( not the owner's fault)- there still needs to be seating for the amount of people that can they advertise can stay, and there was nowhere near that amount. A couch, a chair and 3 barstools were the extent of the inside seating. The home had great reviews which is why we chose it. There is not a 5th bedroom which is what was advertised, and online in their listing to sell the home it is advertised as 4 bedrooms. The 5th is a closet in a bathroom with 3 twin stacked beds that no one can even get on except the bottom one and you are sandwiched between the next one. Do not expect or book this is you need 5 bedrooms. This could be a very nice place to stay if it was cleaned up and furnished properly. The views were great.

Perfect for Families!

This house is set up perfectly for a large group or large family! The multiple back patios face the bay and were our go-to place to hang out. There’s a large room with 4 beds, and then a side room off of that with 3 additional beds that made a great kids room, with multiple master suites for adults! We loved how many bathrooms this house had, no one had to fight over a shower!

Beautiful and secure location

Great communication with the host. The property was as expected. Our family (8 people) stayed here for one night before we left on a cruise out of Galveston. The only issue we found was getting pizza delivered to the house : - ) We were out of range for many restaurants, but finally found one.

Road Less Traveled Beach House
