Had a weekend stay at the Fullerton Marriott next to CSU. Lots of parking, easy access to the Freeways and close to a great assortment of restaurants and cafes around the Fullerton State University campus. The hotel has been renovated and decor has been updated to be more modern. In our rooms there was lots of closet space to hang up clothes, but not much drawer space. A little surprised that there was no complimentary water bottles provided in the room, but there was ice water provided in the lobby as well as fruit in the morning. The room was made up promptly during the late morning and we thought the maid service was good as other Marriott's. There was no safe in the room and also was a little disappointed that there was no lounge during the weekend. Room did have plenty of outlets for charging phones and other electronics. There was breakfast buffet in the lobby provided for either pay or reward members. Make sure you drive to Philz coffee nearby for the Mojito Java as well as the other variety of restaurants. Overall we had a nice stay and thought the staff was very friendly.
I am staying at the Fullerton Marriott at California State University and it has been a big disappointment. Specially when it comes to the room being serviced. First two days at the Hotel and the only thing that has been done is that the beds are made but room is not cleaned same sheets. I had to call and ask for tp, soap and other toiletries as they had not replenished them, I have booked the hotel for a week and can’t wait to leave, shame that Marriott is being represented poorly from the front desk to room service and the room it self which has no drawers for clothing and I have to leave everything in my luggage for the entire week. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel if you’re staying more than 1 night .
I’ve stayed at this hotel at least 6 times this year. It’s a great hotel. Easy access to the freeway and plenty of parking. Great friendly, accommodating staff. Free chocolate chip cookies at the front desk. I always get a standard king room. No frills. No free water though. I have elite status with Marriott, IHG and Hilton. The idea that there isn’t a free bottle of water in the room, is annoying but bearable. The breakfast buffet is pretty standard. The usual eggs, bacon, sausage, cut fruits and breads. Nothing extraordinary, but good for a free meal. Overall it’s a great value.
The hotel lobby looks terrific. Kudos. HOWEVER, the newly remodeled rooms leave a bit to be desired. First and foremost - why in the world would the remodel have kindergarten, very low sitting toilets in a King room. With the aging population, comfort height toilets should be in every room and certainly every King size room where there will likely always be adults. This is a really big deal to many of us..... And to have a frosted glass door in a sliding door right across from the mirror is a terrible design flaw in that the glow from the bathroom is reflected in the mirror and the "sleeping" person has the room illuminated. You can also "see" the person washing their hands in the mirror image. Really? Designers should sleep in a prototype room. And lastly, the free standing heater / air conditioner is right at bed height so the blower hits one of the persons in bed directly. Again - put it at the feet, not the head if you must use the horrible blower air / heaters in a room Again - the designer should sleep in the room --- or perhaps invite their parents / grand parents to sleep in the room and give constructive commentary. Seriously, there is not a Marriott family member over 50 who would be comfortable w/ blasting air/heat and the little kid toilets.
We stayed here one night while in Fullerton. Very nice modern rooms. The pool & hot tube was very nice and relaxing. NO parking for large vehicles with trailers. NO free breakfast. With the price of Marriot you’d think they could provide a free breakfast. Other than those 2 things no complaints. A lot of restaurants near by.
In a million years, I never thought that I would write a negative review about this hotel. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel countless times. We visit family in LA often and have always considered this place as a calm to our hectic travels. Our check in started on Wed, the 8th. Seemingly we checked in with no issues---starting Friday, we began getting alerts from our credit card company about potential fraud/and our credit card being OVER charged. Turns out, it was over 24 attempted charges that the Marriott has made. At the same time, the hotel began calling us---and even locked us out of our room saying that we owe charges of which the bank had already authorized. I don't know what has changed about this hotel, but the level of disrespect that we have had to endure is blood boiling. It has gotten to the point, where I had to have my bank/credit card company on speaker at the front desk so that the front desk representative could clearly hear the charges that were authorized (which were all charges that fully paid for our hotel stay) including the approval codes. You would think that would be enough, right? Nope, that happened last night. This morning we woke up to a phone call from the front desk---same message "our credit card was declined, please come down stairs to pay." I spoke with the Director of Rooms, Henry to (once again) try to rectify the issue, the words out of his mouth were that "we're sorry, but we have a lot of fraud and were just trying to protect ourselves."Wow!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I am in the twilight zone----First, how would we be "frauding" you when its clear that all of the charges have been authorized? And second, attempting to hold a devoted current customer to pass customers behavior clearly demonstrates your bias. After all of that, Mr. Flores could not explain the error or even why it was happening. He finally took one of the approval codes that the bank provided and used that to settle our bill---and quire frankly we were over charged. He communicated we would get a refund in a few days. We got what I assumed was an apology...the standard "I'm sorry but we do get fraud sometime and we needed to make sure we received payment." This hotel is just not on their A game...hell, there not even on their D game.....last night after our room lock out debacle, we asked for towels. They never came....20 minutes later I called to ask about the status of our towel request...they said they called housekeeping but would bring them up personally. They literally brought up 7 bath towels....nothing else. We called again, communicated they only brought up bath towels, then got 8 hand towels and 4 more bath towels never received face towels. I was tired and decided that I wasn't going to fight anymore. I'm now here planning my mother's funeral and I just want to go home.
Great location and Clean rooms. I wish the beds were queens and not fulls. A little cramped for two adults. They don’t do much for Marriott Bonvoy members and don’t really acknowledge it. Nothing fancy but not bad. Family friendly. Would stay again if I’m in the area.
The hotel is clean and recently remodeled. The bar and food staff, and the maintenance staff, are friendly and efficient. The housekeeping staff do a good job, except for not replacing the soiled wash cloths and drinking glasses. Most of the staff greets you as you pass them, except the front desk staff, even though we walked by the front desk a dozen times or so in the 3 days that we were there, not once. We made the reservation by calling the rewards reservation department 1-800-228-2100 to redeem a free night, use points for another night and a pay for another night. Instead of making one 3 night stay, the reservation specialist made 3 separate reservations for the 3 consecutive nights. We questioned why, and she stated that this is how it’s done (new policy?). As this bothered us, we called the hotel twice on two separate days to make sure that this was not a problem, and were reassured that this would be fine. We arrived at the hotel at 1 pm, and checked to see if a room with a pool view was available. J said that it would be about 30 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, we went back to check. M said that check in time is 4 pm, and it would be an hour more wait. We went back after another 90 minutes, and M again reminded us that 4 pm is check in time. After looking for 5 more minutes, she found us a room. We told both J and M about the reservation bookings, because we did not want to have to move each day. J stated that it happens, so they’re used to it. That first night, just to be sure, we went to the front desk again to make sure that there would be no problem. Now this person stated that we were not set up for 3 consecutive nights in the same room, and would need to refresh our room keys each morning, check out and back in, and to have a $20 hold for each day. She also stated that it was our fault for making the reservations for 3 separate days. And there is considerable road noise from our room which did not directly front the street or highway. And there are extra vehicles from the student parking program on the premises. Not a rewarding experience!
I stayed here for business and was a nice hotel and plenty of parking. Great location in Orange County. The Lobby was nice and bar area. The food was also very good. The staff were all friendly. The rooms were nice and modern. The only issue I had was that my bathroom was not very clean I had to call down to send someone to clean up the sink and toilet area. The bed was comfortable. They do have a fitness room it is small but has what you need to get it done. The manager was very friendly and checkout process was easy.
I had the opportunity to stay at this property when business required me to be in the area. I arrived earlier than planned so I had to wait for a room. When I received my room it was on the top floor. It was clean and quiet during my entire stay. Water pressure was good. The LCD TV worked fine. The workers @ this property I had contact with during my stay were almost all great. The folks working in the conciere lounge in the morning and evening were great. Some of most warm and friendliest that I have come across. They also very efficient and had attention to detail. The property gym was small but good. This property is next to CSU Fullerton. There is a Carls Jr. fast food eatery on Campus. Starbucks in the library. The CSUF student union has a wide range of food eateries. Across the busy street from this property is a Habit Burger, Flame Broiler - Korean Fast Food, Sandwich shop and Pizza joint. Overall this one of the best properties that I have saved at. If business requires me to be in the area again, I will most likely return.
