We received the check in code at 4pm for this spacious ranch home in a fairly quiet neighborhood close to restaurants and the beach.
We have rented over 45 places over the past 10 years and painstakingly read reviews and make sure that all places meet our particulars that we like....
1) Central air conditioning - Excellent!
2) Fans in bedroom - yes
3) Nice outdoor space - ehhh
4) Comfy Beds - This did not meet our expectations. The ad describes Serta mattresses. What was in all bedrooms were cheap $199 mattresses made of mostly foam and polyester. Sold by Eco Living in Carlstadt, NJ and made in Indonesia. The pillows need to be thrown out. Dirty, no pillow covers on them. And all available sheets and bedding were also polyester, even though they were cute patterns.
Beach Chairs - There are camp chairs, but not a chair I would consider a beach chair. (We went out & bought 2 at $60 each so we could enjoy the 8 days we booked. The weather was perfect for our stay.
I mentioned the Serta mattresses and chairs to Dave and this was his response
"Hello, the items in the home reflect the listing as accurately as possible. That specific type of mattress is made of Wave Gel Infused Memory Foam and they are found in top hotels around the world. I cannot control where a company makes their mattresses. Most have commented on their comfort as you can see in the reviews. As for the beach chairs, there are many different shapes, sizes, and types. We have provided a few different brands and styles. Hopefully, one of those suits your needs. If not, there are several local places to buy the specific kind you like."
It would have been sufficient for him to say that I was correct, there are no Serta mattresses and that he would update the listing to be accurate. As of the end of our stay it still claims Serta mattresses.
The outdoor pictures look like they were taken when the grass was alive and the yard was at least raked. The landscaping has been neglected for awhile and we preferred to just stay inside when we visited the property, which was to shower/sleep or enjoy the air conditioning when it got too hot in the afternoon. The a/c was phenomenal.
The other furniture was comfy.
The kitchen had enough to get by for a week, with a few spices, oils, sugar and coffee.
Highlights: Vero Beach was gorgeous.
Restaurants that we enjoyed were Skippers, Shuckers & Island Beach Bar & Grill.
The 8 digit code was inconvenient for us. Dave gave us a key. That was great!
