Ok here's the thing. If you're looking for a fancy modern hotel, do yourself a favor and stay at Margaritaville down the street.
Hollywood Beach has an old South Florida vibe, in a good way. And that's what you get with this hotel - an authentic experience, so we loved it. It's an old building but it has been updated. Well it's actually 2 buildings and ours was away from the live music so it was not loud, but even so the music did not go late into the night. The area is quiet otherwise, since it's not where all the restaurants are. That's about a 5 minute walk down the Broadwalk.
Parking is $20/night and it's either right behind the hotel or in a nearby parking lot, no valet. The hotel provides beach towels, which are already in the room, so there is no hassle to request them anywhere. The hotel does NOT provide beach chairs or umbrellas, however previous guests have bought them for their stays and not been able to take them home, so those will be in your closet for your own use, which is pretty great. Our bathroom and kitchen were small but the room itself was huge, probably twice the size of other hotels I had looked at. Beds were fine, not uncomfortable. Full curtains on all the windows, dark enough so the sunrise did not wake us. The kitchen was quite old but it had a full size fridge with freezer, which was the only thing we used in there. Overall I would definitely stay here again. You'll love it if you go in with the right expectations.
