My husband and I spent two night at Room Mate Isabella in mid-September. Upon arriving, we buzzed up to the hotel and the porter came down to assist us with our luggage. There is a full flight of stairs that you ascend to reach the lobby. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The woman checking us in informed us that she was upgrading us to their apartment room. What an upgrade it was!! We had the top floor apartment and it was absolutely incredible. Thank you Room Mate Isabella for our incredible room, we were in awe. The room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable and had the highest quality linens of any of the rooms on our trip to Italy. It was spacious and very well appointed. It was truly lovely, I only wish we had more time to spend at Room Mate Isabella. Thank you again, wow!! Location: The location is fantastic. You are in the heart of Florence and within walking distance to anything and everything. It was wonderful to be able to pop back to the hotel so easily to drop off shopping bags or take a quick nap before dinner. Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious and it is served in a lovely dining and sitting area. They have a daily egg/breakfast dish and every breakfast food you could want. We asked for a made- to-order espresso each morning, as the coffee from their coffee machine was not good, but the made to order one was excellent, so no complaints there. This is a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location, with incredible staff. I would absolutely stay here again and we are even looking into staying at more Room Mate Isabella properties for our upcoming trip to Spain next year. It really made a very positive impression on us, I highly recommend this property.
The Isabella took us in when our reservation turned out to not have gone through at their sister property. Everyone was wonderful and friendly. One of the best hotel stays of our trip. Highly recommend.
This hotel is at a perfect location, making it extremely easy to walk to every important landmark. The staff was extremely helpful in providing us with a map and pointing out the must see places. They also helped us select several restaurants and all were extremely great selections. The breakfast was also good (cold cuts, pastries, fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs, bacon, etc...). A special thanks to Silvia and Salmir for there excellent customer service.
stayed for 2 nights over the weekend, 2 minutes from piazza de republica. Good amenities, big bath room, only down side is climbing the stairs to reach the lobby. If you are traveling with heavy luggages, prepare to carry them upstairs by yourself.
The hotel's location is perfect - making it easy to get everywhere in the city! All the amenities of a modern hotel but the boutique atmosphere preserves the historic feel of Florence. The daily breakfast and coffee selections were delicious! The pastries were superb! The hotel is clean and spotless. The staff are so nice, professional and friendly. Silvia, Saimir and the others (I forget all of their names) at the Reception Desk were very helpful with directions, restaurant ideas, places to visit, etc - a wealth of knowledge and they made reservations for us at restaurants every night. They made us feel welcome and right at home. I even left my ring at the hotel and they were able to locate it for me after I left!! If you want to be in the heart of Florence, experience the culture firsthand, enjoy a delicious breakfast and top notch accommodations then Hotel Isabella is for you.
Our three night stay at this hotel cannot be faulted- it was literally perfect in every way! It is located right in the heart of everything. The decor and furnishings are stunning- I LOVED our room which was very spacious for a city hotel room with lots of natural light. The bathroom amenities were of a good quality and the tea/coffee making station was appreciated. There is a communal ironing board/ iron which we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for upon request. Service was top notch. The breakfast buffet was the best during our entire vacation- we particularly enjoyed the frittatas. Oh yes, and the entrance smells so good! They 'mist' a fragrance by the front door and you can smell it from the street- a lovely additional touch!
Stayed in three hotels in Italy, I enjoyed this hotel the most. The staff is extremely friendly and helped with any reservations I needed including museums, restaurants, taxis. This is a great location. Next to a lot of great shopping too! There are stairs to get to the ground floor to the first. This was ok for me, however for my elderly mother who has knee issues, it was a bit noticeable that not as convenient if you have a disability. Decent breakfast selection.
The hotel is in an excellent location, smart area and civilised atmosphere. As I arrived I received a very nice welcome from the reception, I get a feeling they value their guests. A glass of prosecco is also a nice touch. My room was for very smart, the shower got very hot , almost too hot, would have done with a bit more heating in the room , but these were minor issues, if you are travelling as couples, I am sure you will get more comfortable, bigger, cosy rooms. The breakfast and the service was excellent. They were respectful and polite, and smiley, that's what you need in your short escape, lots of positivity. Thanks Roommate.
My wife and I had the opportunity for an upgrade to the Suite and were absolutely delighted we seized the chance! For comfort, convenience, limitless hospitality and historical charm this place cannot be beat!!! The staff of Nety, Silvia, Ted and Rollie were delightful, helpful, indulgent and charming as could possibly be. Our suite was very spacious and well laid out. Despite the obvious age of the building, everything was miraculously clean, with a custom elevator cleverly retrofitted to the existing structure. Location of the hotel is perfect, and right at the epicenter of "where it all happens" in this beautiful city. Transportation, shopping, dining, tours, it's all here and only a short walk away. This will be the only place I'll stay on future trips to Florence! Bravo, and thank you for a great experience!
What a great little gem in the heart of a bustling city. The hotel is seriously minutes away from everything you might want to see in Florence, which makes for a very enjoyable stay during the summer months. We could easily enjoy our delicious breakfast, then get to the sights within a few minutes, and come back for a rest and a quick rinse off and then back out again. The staff is extremely helpful offering up ideas on places to eat, visit, and where to shop.
