We had a great stay at this tasteful family owned hotel. A short walk from the train station and close to all the major attractions in Florence. The owner was great, funny, and kind. He made us feel welcome and held our bags on our final day so we could sitesee a little more. If we come back to Florence we will stay again!
The Unicorno is a reasonable price hotel an easy level walk from the station and close to restaurants and the river. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was decent size and the showers were fantastic- good water pressure and hot. There is a set of stairs from reception level up to the lift. So would not be suitable for disabled. Breakfast was included and had a decent choice of food and drinks available.
A lovely hotel only a gentle 10 mins walk from the train station. Very welcoming staff from reception to breakfast. Nothing's too much trouble for them. We were given a map and suggestions of sights to see and places to eat. Our room was just as we expected, clean, plenty of hanging space for clothes, plenty big enough for 2 people. Clean bathroom & fresh towels each day even though we hung ours up to be used again. Toiletries replenshed daily even though we were only there for 3 nights. Probably the best bathroom hairdryer I've ever come across too, which was a plus for me! Comfy bed and plenty of extra pillows etc. We noticed a bit of street noise early mornings, just generally people going to work, but it doesn't detract from the whole place and to be honest we were so tired from walking around each day that we soon nodded back to sleep! A good selection at breakfast - typical continental, but again we expected it and we always enjoy continental breakfasts. Choices of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast, fresh bread & rolls, meats, fresh cheeses, croissants and jams etc. We noticed there were boiled eggs and delicious looking scrambled plus some sausages. But we prefer to fill up with the other selections. A good machine dispensing hot water for tea, hot chocolate and a couple of coffee selections, which smelt good. The breakfast room is constantly kept clean and replenished by a lovely lady. There are a couple of sitting areas in the hotel too with settees to sit and read if you want. All in all this is a good central hotel we would recommend to anyone and will certainly stay here again if we ever return to Florence. So near to all the major sights, lots of restaurants around and bars. Good free wifi too.
Very good location with easy walking distance of all major sights including the rail station. Nice welcome from helpful staff who instantly gave us a map and walking instructions around Florence. Rooms nothing special but clean and beds very comfortable. Bathroom in need of upgrading but apart from little mishap due to a slip it was adequate. Breakfast was sufficient for our needs and our granddaughters too. Not really suitable for anyone with mobility issue a few steps to contend with. We were very impressed for the price we paid and would definitely re visit. Our granddaughter picked the Unicorno due to her love of Unicorns but it served our purpose well. My only criticism is once again the hairdryer which was a much use as a chocolate fire guard.
We staying four nights at Unicorno in Florence Italy. The Hotel is close to everything we wanted to do and see. The Hotel and our room was clean. The breakfast was included in our room, which was a pleasant surprise. All the staff kitchen, cleaning and desk staff was always friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.
Nice hotel , stayed here this March. Staff was very helpful and nice. Rooms were clean and recently Renovated. Air conditioning did not work as you can’t adjust it on your own which we found to be unpleasant. But overall ok. The daily breakfast was convenient for sure . Just enough to get you going for the day. Common spaces seemed a little dated, but all in all this was a great value. I’d stay here again. There’s many walkable destinations near by.
The hotel is really good. From the train station it is only a few minutes and you can reach special tourist points (e.g Ponte Vecchio) in max. 10 minutes. Also you can find very good restaurants or bars nearby (within 30 minutes - just check TripAdvisor ;-)). The staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was ok, considering that Italians did not really have breakfast. The room was really quiet even if it was facing the street. Unfortunately, we only had a closet, where you could hang up jackets.
This small hotel leaves you with such beautiful memories. The nice continental breakfasts , comfortable rooms and the closeness to all that Florence has to offer. The best thing though is the staff. The owners a brother and sister and the whole team go far out of their way to make your stay so so wonderful. Nothing was ever to much trouble for them. Thank you we were so pleased to have found this hotel
We stayed at the Hotel Unicorno for four nights as part of our honeymoon around Italy. The location is excellent, just five minutes from the train station and a stone's throw from the Santa Maria Nouvella and the river. Everything is so easy to access on foot with the Duomo only 10 minutes away. The staff at the hotel are wonderful - so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the room itself was very basic. The bathroom was very old and tired although everything was meticulously clean. The air con was very poor, at some points it made it hotter in the room than it was outside. We were situated towards the back of the building however due to the central location there was a lot of street noise. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything in the rooms around you and we seemed to have the waste pipe for the rooms above going past our room so you had a fairly continuous rushing of water through the day and night. The lift is very small - we just managed to squeeze two of us and two cases in and noisy, we could hear it throughout the night despite not being near it. The breakfast was basic but sufficient. All in all the location and wonderful staff go some way to making up for the shortfall. Overall we had a good stay but I don't think we'd return here in the future.
I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Location is fine closing to S M Novella Florence Station, 10-12 minutes walking on foot. Hotel room is big enough and inside facilities are designed in old style. Bathroom shower system is rather weak low water pressure. Breakfast is good with adequate choices. The disappointed point was that due to the hot temperature I switched on air-conditioner but it was not worked at last.
