River Rat

The place was very nice, and we would stay there again and recommend to friends. We have been staying along this stretch of river for over 40 years now and we just can't get enough of its beauty. After 40 years the train is still there and yes, they make noise, please don't come and expect it not too! If you want absolute quite this is not your kind of place,If you want total serenity this is.

Great interior, less than ideal location.

The interior of the cabin is exactly as pictured. It was very nicely appointed and was impecably cleaned. It's obvious that the owners really care about keeping the cabin looking like new. Our stay was lessened only by the location. The property is sandwiched between a busy highway and very active railroad tracks with frequent trains day and night. Didn’t make for the peaceful getaway we had hoped for. The location did provide easy access to the river and many of the areas atractions.

We originally thought we were renting the entire cabin but quickly realized we were renting just half of the cabin upon arriving. I will read future VRBO descriptions much more carefully next time. My mistake! It was a very nice cabin next to a train and road in the middle of God's country (WI). We drove alot and took looks around. It was a great time!! Thank you!! Theresa and Bob

Great getaway

We had a wonderful time at the property. You could see the star very well even with Lansing, IA nearby. The amenities provided were wonderful. Also, watching the trains race past at night was very relaxing.

The place is in a great location and very well kept.It is definitely a diamond in the rough. Also a great location for fishing, campaign and beautiful scenery. The décor and amenities were perfect. Highly recommended for family and friends. We will be back!

Beautiful cabin and environment!

Enjoyed spending a long weekend in this cozy cabin. Very clean and "home-y". Will definitely be visiting again soon. The only downside was that the power and water shut off before the check-out time. Other than that, a wonderful stay!

It was a nice accommodation with interesting furnishings. Access is a little tight off the road. Trains were a little bit much, frequency and noise.

Clean, comfortable, charming cabin

We loved our stay here! The cabin is beautiful, and we enjoyed the rustic charm. We also loved all the thoughtful touches, like games, movies, and the fully stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and felt very new. Driving here was beautiful! We had campfires both nights - it was really nice. We visited the lock to the south and saw bald eagles and pelicans! The kids got frisbees from the engineer there. We drove down to Wyalusing State Park for hiking and beautiful views.

We had a great relaxing time. The tracks were pretty busy but we did not mind. Beautiful interior and great porch we sat under and watched the storm come in. The bluffs and the river are gorgeous. Love this part of the state.

Property is right on the major road and train tracks right behind it. It's more of apartment made to look like a cabin. It's very noisy with traffic and trains. The beds were not the best and forget about sitting outside because of the gnats and mosquitoes that invaded the house as well. Pack lot of bug spray is my advice. Best part was the Wooden Nickel Saloon and Swing Inn in Ferryville.

Nice clean place

Very nice and clean cabin. A bit loud with the tracks right there. I would have preferred a water view being that close to the water and I wish the WiFi worked. However, it was a very enjoyable place and stay. We would definitely stay again.

Great spot on the Mississippi

We really enjoyed our stay! The property was in great shape and the decorations added to the overall warmth! The beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of space for all of us. While the proximity of the railroad tracks might be a concern to some, the trains really did not make as much noise as you might think. Also, there is no road crossing nearby so the trains did not blow their horns at all. The views of the Mississippi were fantastic, and we were treated to a wide variety of birds including ducks, geese, swans, songbirds, white pelicans, owls, and bald eagles. While we did not meet the hosts, we had great communication with them and they were happy to help getting us our keys back that we accidentally left hanging in the cabin! We hope to visit again soon!

Birthday/Spring Break Getwaway

The property was beautiful. Cabin was immaculate. Trains do go by quite frequently though (about every couple hours). The scenery in the area is amazing. Would consider going back if in the area again.
