We received confirmation for 4 nights at the house from VRBO 3-4 days prior to the rental. VRBO also emailed us the day of check-in confirming our reservation. When the owner did not send entry instructions I contacted her via the app and she said property was being renovated and it should not have been rented. She said she would submit a total refund asap. I received a partial refund from VRBO, minus 142.39. It seems wrong for VRBO to withhold 142.39 when it was not my fault the rental was cancelled at the last minute and we had to quickly find other lodging. I hope VRBO will correct this injustice.

Great home with plenty of room

My husband and I and 5 seniors traveling to Alaska. One day before I was to leave , found out I had to have emergency surgery. Couldn’t go on my Alaskan trip of a lifetime. Friends went and said home was very nice, clean and comfortable. Lots of space. Host was very responsive.

A bit disorganized

I needed to call Vrbo to get check-in information in the evening before traveling all day to Alaska. House still looks like it is in a state of remodeling. Functional but highly disorganized kitchen which required a scavenger hunt to find things. The WiFi went out and the mattress in the master bedroom needed to be replaced Not enough seating for four adults in the living room and the recliners were old and worn. It was clean enough and had a great washer, dryer and dishwasher. The location was convenient to all activities in the area.

Anniversary celebration

We traveled to Fairbanks with two other couples - one of which was celebrating their 40th anniversary. The house was centrally located in Fairbanks in a nice and seemingly safe area. It had everything we needed for our stay with the exception of a large pot for cooking chili (but we made it work by browning everything in a skillet on the stove, then transferring it to a casserole dish in the oven to simmer). The house is definitely still in the process of being remodeled - there were a few tools and spare parts lying around. The biggest issue we had was that the heat and hot water quit working twice while we were there. Since we were there over the New Year's holiday, the host was unable to find anyone to make a fuel delivery, but she was able get it working again fairly quickly by adding a little fuel each time. She did give us a small refund to compensate for the trouble. Overall, the property was very comfortable and roomy for six adults. We enjoyed coffee together in the comfortable living room in the mornings, and playing cards around the dining table in the evenings.

Great location with lots of room!

With 5 bdrms and 3 ba, it is the perfect place for family and friends. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was large and had a large fridge. We had a great weeklong stay.

Perfect for our family of 6

The house was in a great location, close to everything we needed. The house was much bigger than expected, which was wonderful. Plenty of room to spread out or gather for dinner in the kitchen/ dining room. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The bathrooms were large and having laundry in the house was great. The host was quick to reply to any questions or concerns. We would definitely stay again someday. Thank you for a great stay!

Good location for group

Easy directions and access to the property. Close to shopping and restaurants. Good space for 5 adults, the front room worked well for presentations and team discussions. The kitchen was large enough for all to gather and prepare food. The three bathrooms accommodated us easily. The off street parking could fit 3 vehicles easily if the carport is used. Overall the property worked fine for our stay.

Softball State Tournament

We stayed here for 4 nights during my daughter's softball tournament. We loved being able to prepare our meals on site every day. Kitchen was well equipped, and we were excited that the ice maker worked. Home is in a great location to be able to walk to the stores to get a few steps in. The house was hot at night (it was 90 degrees outside), so would recommend bringing a box fan with if you are local. For anybody from the lower 48, you will probably feel right at home in the warmth. Good communication from owner, would be happy to stay here again.

Great value

House is still being remodeled but nothing interferes with the stay. There are little things that could be done to make this rental more appealing. Landscape yard, finish the drywall in master, put a door on closet off kitchen or clean out that space. This property was a great value compared to a stay in a hotel for the same period of time.

Spacious and conveniently located

We had decided to extend our stay in Fairbanks by a few days, and we were happy this house was available since all the cabins were pretty much rented out. The neighborhood was very quiet and the house ideally located. Overall we were pleased with the house and the owner was very communicative with us during our stay.

Perfect place for families

We stayed here with our family over Thanksgiving. The house was large enough to comfortably accommodate our group of 7 adults. The kitchen was spacious and well appointed with a large dining room table and plenty of kitchenware. The house has been lovingly restored and there were many thoughtful touches like guest toiletries. The hosts were great. Highly recommend. .
