We have been vacationing in Estes Park for decades and this was our favorite home so far. The views were the best—it made it hard to leave for a day exploring as the patio and hot tub were so relaxing. The home was lovely and very clean—it had everything we needed to cook or just relax. The home was well stocked for kids/grandkids. Thank you for sharing this home with us.

Awesome stay!! I actually think the listing might undersell the property a bit. Would highly recommend and will be coming back if in the area again. Views were incredible and the house had everything needed. Saw tons of wildlife every day. Great!!

Couldn't Have Loved It More!

This house was better than we'd imagined! Plenty of really great and thoughtful space to hang out and have fun on super cold wintry days. Bonus: we say deer walking straight up to the house and around the property most every day! Loved it, and hope to stay there again!

Great House for our family vacation

Very clean, well located property. My family of 6 loved this house. Spectacular views of the mountains. We had Elk in our yard one day and Turkeys the next. House was great and the management company was very responsive.

Excellent spot for a group or family

The property was fantastic. Beautiful views, tucked away on the side of a hill. Spacious home that accommodated well for a family. The kids loved the game room and theater room. The hot tub was very relaxing and you can’t beat the view. Great way to start and end the day. The house was super clean and comfortable. Very well decorated. Overall, we absolutely loved the stay.

Solitude with a View

What a fantastic property! To start the property management went out of their way to secure a package that delivered early. Once arriving we were mesmerized by the home and location. The home was the perfect size and layout for our entire stay with the 6 of us. The games and wall scrabble in the finished basement were a great treat after long days in Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. Much less the hot tub looking at the Billion Dollar View were great to soak the muscles after many miles of hiking! The icing on the cake was the Elk that decided the backyard would be a great place to take a few hour nap. Thank you. Thank you, Thank you!!

Wonderful private location! Super hot tub!

We were all 7 happy with our stay. The accommodations were perfect for our two families. Our adult kiddos loved the game and movie rooms. Hot tub was lovely, but it’s the views that make this space extra special. The queen room doesn’t have any curtains, so our guests in there were kept awake by the light from the master bath and of course couldn’t sleep in. Other than that, this place is hard to beat for a winter wonderland getaway! First night we had big buck come down the back rocks. First morning we had at least 100 turkeys in the yard. Neat!

Beautiful views!

The house was amazing with excellent views and we even saw a mommy and baby elk in the yard the last night! So much room and so relaxing! Only thing that was negative was the white curtains don't block out enough light if you want to sleep in.

That View!

I looked, while deciding on our spring break trip, at the pictures of this property and really liked the view. It didn't seem too awesome but nice and relaxing. Let me tell you what, this is our 5th trip to Estes Park, and this is the absolute BEST view we've had. The mountains are so close on the back off the deck and one side out of the master bedroom and bathroom windows. The home was beautiful, had so many private places to read and relax. The kitchen was huge! Had a nice fridge, gas stove, microwave and coffee pot (no keurig) plus a bunch of pots, pans, silverware, plates, glasses etc. I enjoyed preparing our meals in this kitchen. One thing I wish they had, there were no pot holders except the rubber hot pad things, that was a challenge for me and I ended up using the cup towels which was a bit tricky for me since I am not used to the open flame of a gas stove and with my RA it was hard for me to use the rubber pot holders and get a good grip on the handles. Other than that, there was everything you could possibly need! The beds were nice and comfy with plenty of extra blankets. The fireplace is a neat touch, there's games downstairs for a big family to enjoy, and a lovely hot tub on the deck (we didn't use the hot tub, it was just so cold while we were there and we were too weak LOL) The place was a little tricky to find at first so I suggest the first time you try to find it , that it's not during the dark,(we had a Safeway delivery and the poor little girl came around 8 pm and she had to call us so we could talk her through it). We ended up going alone, my husband and I, because of our 3 kids cancelling for various reasons therefore it was too much house for us but I would definitely want to stay here again with our family. Highly recommended place!

Estes beauty

A great long weekend at "Sunset lodge." As noted by the owners, views are stunning from the living room, and esp. the deck with hot tub. Very well equipped and good room arrangement for our party. It was a chilly weekend in Estes, but could see how the open game room area down stairs would be a hit in warmer months. Well-maintained, and everything functioned well. Only down side was lack of response from property management group, PMI, when we made three attempts to arrange an early check-in if available. All we got was one response saying someone would get back to us... no one every did.

Beautiful place to stay

Great house Great location 2nd time staying here Changes made since last visit that enhanced our stay and made things better - No more fire pit - now has a wonderful gas powered outdoor fire area on the deck! - Has oven mits and adequate towels and wash clothes for the kitchen (these were non existent at the last visit) - major improvement - thank you! Overall a wonderful stay. We will be back.

Beautiful retreat!

Our stay at this property was wonderful! The house was perfect for our group, was well-appointed with everything we needed, and was beautiful, well kept, and clean. The layout was light and inviting and the spacious kitchen worked great for our group . The kids (all ages) loved the hangout space downstairs and the adults enjoyed relaxing on the deck with beautiful views. The owners thought of everything we could need to make the most of our stay. During our stay, we had some very minor issues (wifi trouble, a door that wouldn't lock, and a light issue), and the property manager was quick to respond and incredibly helpful in resolving those issues promptly, professionally, and kindly the same day & with no disruption in our vacation at all. I would highly recommend this property to others. We really enjoyed this property and hope we can return soon!

Amazing home!

Our family recently stayed at this home for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. We wish we could have stayed longer! Our kids are 18, 16, and 12, and the bedroom configuration was perfect for us. The house and the views are even more beautiful than the images in the listing. This home is spacious and offers privacy while still being close to town and all the things we wanted to see in the area. The deck and views are beautiful and we had lots of fun in the game room! Mountain Home

Overall a great home. Some background: this house was once owned by my grandparents. Beautiful view of Longs Peak & Mummy range mountains. Wonderful deck with hot tub. Comfortable beds. Plenty of space. Price for rental on the high side for number of beds. Renting property again later this year, in September. A few issues: - WiFi is spotty. Attempted to watch several sporting events and movies on the tv but ran into lag issues. Spent considerable amount of time watching spinning circle. Family commented that download speeds on their devices was slow. - There were no pot holders or hot pads or trivets in the house. Made cooking food a challenge on the first day in the house. Had my family look in every cabinet & drawer in the entire house. Offered up $100 to whomever found one - none to be found. - Lower level of house 10-15 degrees colder than main level. When temperature outside drops at night can be even more than 15 degrees colder downstairs. This was true when my grandparents lived in the house & still was the case during my visit. - Gas supplied Fireplace is finicky. Usually lights, but does not always stay on. Had management come look at it & they said it was fine. Used it during the stay. Sometimes would burn for 2 hours & stop, sometimes 30 minutes, & one time it was still on at 3 hours plus & I turned it off prior to going to bed. Again, this was true of the way the fireplace worked when my grandparents lived there & continues to function the same way. Note: Attempted to discuss above issues with the property manager - left text messages & voicemail but no response - prior to leaving this review. Hopefully issues addressed before I return in September.

Lovely stay in Estes Park

Sunset Lodge is the perfect name for this property. The view from the deck provides an exceptional place to watch the sun set. Star watching at night is awesome as Estes Park is far from the city lights. We saw wild turkeys, Elk, rabbits, lots of birds, deer and of course the chipmunks. We spent a lot of time playing cornhole out by the fire pit and we cooked many great meals in the well equipped kitchen. Two recommendations for travelers is to bring your own spices and herbs in order to have the best tasting meals. And unfortunately, you will only receive 2 dish towels and 0 dish rags. Not certain why this is their policy but it is completely insufficient. You will see that there is so much counter space and table space that has to be wiped down after preparing and eating, and a small sponge doesn't cut it. I am recommending that this property provide 2 dish towels and 2 dish rags for EACH NIGHT of the guests stay.

Great place with great view, communication difficult though

We loved the place and the pictures dont even do the view justice, it was stunning. However, a winter storm was blowing in and we had no clue on how to proceed (wasnt sure if we needed to find more firewood or what to do if roads get shut down ect). Called the number provided and the real estate rental company is the only one you can contact, theyre supposed to relay the message, but was never put in contact with the owner. Luckily for us, the snow storm ended up being mild, but 2 feet was predicted. Overall great place, careful with trying to get ahold of the owner.
