Right off the highway. Cleanliness and reliability you'd expect from Holiday Inn Express. Pool was out of towels when we arrived, but the front desk was right down the hall, and they quickly brought a new stack out for us. My husband and I just wanted to sit & watch our kids swim, but we had to stand because there were not enough chairs, and the ones they had were soaking wet due to their closeness to the pool. Breakfast wasn't great. The pancake machine was out of order (kids look forward to making their own pancakes)! Had to wait 10 minutes for eggs and coffee to be made. I am highly allergic to MSG so I asked the man working if the gravy/eggs/sausage had MSG. Was told they all did. That was a bummer, however I was not expecting high quality food. Finally settled on cinnamon roll (decent!) and coffee when it came out. While watch the man working in the kitchen, I witnessed his sweat drip into the food on a couple of occasions (the food I wasn't eating, thank God) and onto the tables he was cleaning. There could be definite improvements on the breakfast, but overall our stay was decent.
I needed to find a place to stay for a funeral. Having lived in the area during my childhood, I knew that updated hotels would be hard to find. I was wrong! This place was quiet, nicely appointed and clean. After a period of time at the funeral home, all I was wanted was to rest and prepare myself for the next day. It was quiet, TV channels were varied, the coffee maker in the room was great, and staff were friendly and efficient. I travel a lot and I would have to say that this hotel was just as good as any you'd find along the interstate.
Out of town friend came to visit for a Christmas party and we had a hotel sleep-over. Much easier than cleaning up my guest bedroom; haha. She is a cat person and I have dogs. go figure. The room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy. Staff very friendly and efficient. We should have gotten up in time for the hotel breakfast. Instead we had a awful breakfast across the road at the old BigBoy.
We stopped here a few days ago on our way to a college visit. The hotel is clean but it is old. We ended up staying in 2 rooms because our sink wouldn't drain. In both rooms, the tiling in the bathroom was in fair shape. The bed was average quality. Breakfast was pretty good. The exit where this and 3 or 4 other hotels is on doesn't offer very much. We only saw one restaurant, an old Big Boy that has changed hands, and I think one gas station . We all got a bad vibe about this stop of our trip.
The best hotel in Danville (off Lynch Road). The hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was very good (fresh and hot) that included sausage, biscuits and gravy, lots of cereal types, and great cinnamon rolls,
The room seemed rather small and dark, but I was only there for an over night stay while traveling through the area. The breakfast was good and the staff members were friendly. It was quiet and I was able to rest well.
Girl at the front desk was very friendly I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out. Nice clean, comfortable bed. Our remote needed new batteries and the girl came right away to give them to us, it was still a little hard to work but it was ok. Normal hotel breakfast but had the best cinnamon rolls with little boxes to go. That was a special treat. Big group of us for a wedding and I didn't hear a bad thing from any of them.
Very nice and clean! Friendly staff! Breakfast was ok and rooms were a little pricy. I would recommend to friends and family and I would stay again! Right off the ramp easy in and out. Wonderful water pressure in shower
My wife and I planned a weekend visit with some friends in Champaign followed by visiting family in Indianapolis. I chose this Holiday Inn Express due to its location in between and I'm very happy with my stay there! We arrived early - shortly after checkout time - and I really wanted to get into the room and drop our stuff off before heading out to meet our friends. Our room was not yet ready, but the front desk staff was very accommodating and even upgraded us to a suite that was available so we could be on our way. I'm very appreciative of their help! The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Everything we used seemed to be in good working order. The area is very quiet, despite being so close to I-70. There's not much in the area - it appears to be mostly industrial - so there aren't many restaurant choices. I saw one diner and one convenience store. Breakfast was standard fare - bacon, sausage, biscuits, omelettes, cereals. One thing to keep in mind: This hotel is literally just a few hundred yards on the Illinois side of the Illinois/Indiana state line, which also happens to be the line between Central Time and Eastern Time. I live on central time and this hotel is technically in central as well, but our phones shifted to eastern without us knowing it. Caused us a little temporary confusion when we were setting our alarm and making our plans, but we figured it out. Just be aware. Would definitely stay here again if in the area and would recommend it to others!
If you've been to Danville, you know the town is not known for its hotels. On my last two stops in Danville, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. I wasn't expecting much out of a small town hotel but the Holiday Inn Express Danville and its staff surprised me with its updated rooms, cleanliness and big smiles (and let's not forget the hot breakfast!). Catherine at the front desk was extremely helpful with my requests. She was always available to help and always with a smile. The room and breakfast staff was quick to clean the room and to replenish the breakfast buffet. If ever in Danville and surroundings again, I'll definitely stay with them. I highly recommend this hotel.
