Very clean, new hotel with great staff. Only needed some dark curtains and some local flavor to really make it stand out. I blame that more on the state of the hospitality industry than how well the hotel was run. Would stay at another Hampton.
Hotel was clean and convenient. Room was clean. Breakfast was on par with other Hampton locations. Staff was friendly. You can hear trains at all hours but this would be the for all hotels in the area. Would stay here again when in Danville.
Stayed here for three nights, and not very impressed overall. This hotel is located very close to the train tracks, and loud train horns blared at all hours of the night. The walls are thin, so we also got to hear everything our neighbors said, and the various kids running up and down the hall repeatedly. Joy. Room was clean, beds were okay, toiletries are Neutrogena and pleasant. The lobby looks to be recently renovated. Coffee and hot water in the lobby at all hours. Breakfast was disappointing because of something I've never seen at any other hotel - hotel staff making plates of food for themselves in front of guests! Utterly unprofessional - and this did detract from our meals, as the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy ran out well before breakfast time ended! I don't like to see food wasted, and would have no problem with the hotel staff stopping by at 10am when breakfast is closed, but to take food that was intended for paying guests was unacceptable. I had friends staying at a hotel across the street and the train noise was still an issue but they at least had a better breakfast experience. Will try that on our next visit.
After 12 wretched hours in the car, the nice fellow on duty, Aaron, took one look at me and asked, “could I get you a bottle water!?” I almost cried. His hospitality continued during my check-in and visits to the front desk. I love Hampton Inns, but this visit was the best!
I enjoyed all aspects of the stay at Hampton Inn in Danville, Illinois. The staff was courteous and the room was clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other business associates and family.
I have stayed at many Hampton Inn’s and had very nice experiences which is why I called customer service prior to writing a bad review on Trip Advisor. However, customer service has handled this situation horribly and this nights stay was horrible. To start, the heat in my room did not work; therefore, I had to be moved to a room on a different floor. That was no big deal, I realize that things break. Once I settled in my new room, finished my work and was able to relax, I laid down on the bed in a wet puddle which still makes me nauseous to think about. Maintenance nor housekeeping were available to help with any of the issues. While the lady on duty was very nice and helpful, I still had to help her turn over the king size mattress and change the linens on the bed. Once we finished, I had to shower because my clothing was wet and I was disgusted. Finally, I was able to get back in the bed, but I hardly slept. I called guest services and informed the lady of my issue. I received an email offering 20,000 points to rectify the situation. After I emailed back stating that 20,000 points wouldn’t even cover 1 nights stay and that I thought I at least deserved a phone call, I received another email stating that I was absolutely right, and they gave another 10,000 points. I then called and informed someone else that I did not feel like this was enough and that I was very disappointed that no one took the time to pick up the phone and call. She said that the hotel should reach out to me. I have heard nothing. I travel for work and my company spends a lot of money with Hampton Inn. This is unacceptable compensation and customer service, not just for a ruined nights stay, but I am still sick about the wetness that was all over my back from whatever was in the bed.
I've stayed here many times and we'll continue to use this hotel whenever I'm in town. I like the rooms, always have a nice sleep, and the breakfast is very good. It's off the city, but very convenient for me to get to work.
We were visiting Danville in the deep freeze of winter. We were welcomed by name. Our rooms were ready. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was interning and different each day we were there. Great experience!
Must say as a loyal hilton honors member for nearly 20 years, all I can say is no one is on duty at this place. Checked in and tried to get stable internet with no luck. Up and down for an hour. When I called the front desk they and reported the problem they said they would leave a note regarding the problem. When I ask what that would mean in term of resolving the problem they didn't know how to respond. When I ask to speak to the manager she said she was the front desk manager, I ask for the hotel manager and she said they would be in on Monday, its Saturday. Simply said, how dose one even respond to such a statement. Avoid this hotel if you need to work.
