Magic Mountain Stay

Check in was easy.Kitchen was beautiful and stocked nicely.Wifi was good.Very nice back yard and clean access to river.Nice bathrooms. Beautiful and clean home.Welcoming for family and pets. Side yard fence for dogs was convenient. Hot tub was nice.Nice neighbors.Quiet place to relax. Located close to West Jefferson which has good reataurants and shopping.Not too far from Boone as well if you want to visit a bigger town.

So the property itself was nice enough, well outfited kitchen and plenty of room. There were just several issues that prevent this rental from being great. First off and the most aggravating thing was the water situation, when you arrive they state they have a small well (several signs in the house) and you need to conserve water as best you can. With 8 people, even with having only 2 people showering every day, adopting the "if its yellow its mellow but if brown flush it down", running out to get paper plates, cups, and silverware we still ran out of water almost daily. Additional the master bedroom sheets were dirty and had to be washed when we arrived. The light in the laundry room didnt work and the master bedroom toilet paper holder was nearly torn out of the wall (but had been pushed back in so it didnt look so bad). Finally this is a pet friendly rental, and it clearly states that you must pick up after your dog (which we did and always do) but the previous I dont know how many renters had not, the side of the yard fenced in was a poop garden, we litterally picked up dozens of piles and still couldnt get it all...really should have been done prior to our arrival rather than being our problem. I will say that the owners/rental co was good about getting back to us and trying to solve what issues they could but it just wasn't enough to make this rental something I would reccomend to anyone.
