Good clean rooms quiet good atmosphere great customer service definitely will visit again.P.s. the front desk operators really work hard to make sure my stay was pleasant everything ran smoothly!!!!!!!
This place is NOISY. So much foot traffic, loud all night long. Marijuana smelled up the corridor to my room. Oh, and I killed a roach in the bathroom. The location and price worked since it was close to the work location in th is city.
I have stayed in this hotel since August 2017. I have found the staff more than accommodating to all me needs and request especially Michael and Cory Pendergass. I will always stay at this hotel when I visit Columbia.
My pull out bed mattress was nasty. A female mistral cycle was all over it. It was dirty with plastic wrap to the bottom of it. I ask to be moved but no other rooms were open so they said. My kids sleep on the floor. We had nowhere else to go. It was as New Year’s Eve.
There are two(2) very good and professional people that I encountered here and their names are Toya and Brandon(the front desk CSR’S). The GM and his Asst are liars, thieves and very unprofessional. Irene, the Asst told 6 lies about charges made to a debit, that they wasn’t giving authorization to use. I had died blood on my sheets blood on my sheets, the second room 209 was full of roaches, another room smelled like a dog pissed in the rug, and when I got into 216, Brandon had to change my linen. The comforter was DIRTY. I can’t say to much, because I hired an attorney. But, don’t stay here. The housekeepers are HORRIBLE especially Sharon. A crackhead who’s very unprofessional and Mike(GM) is going to back his unprofessional, nasty, crew even when he knows that they’re wrong. Irene came from The Red Roof Inn on Berryhill Rd. Need I say more? Check out my video and picture of the blood stained sheets
1 - The furniture looks clean and new. But the rooms and hallways have stuffy smell (not necessarily bad , but not fresh either). 2 - As with most Extended Stay America, there is a selection of free or paid WiFi. If you select the free one, be prepared for a really slow connection. 3 - It's quiet for sure
Pros:. Close to the zoo, inexpensive, looks like it's newly painted, quiet on the 3rd floor, ironing board / iron, good air conditioner. (I like the room cold when sleeping.) Cons: don't expect to many amenities for the price. Want clean sheets, towels.... You take them down to the desk for exchange. No ice, unless you bring your own. (small kitchenette, with a full size fridge), no blow dryer. No elevator. Although there is a steep fine if you smoke in the room, it smelled as though it had been smoked in, then cleaned. Everything in the room was functional and had fresh paint. No breakfast in the morning (you got a kitchen in you room), but the do have a "coffee" bar. 2 flavored creamers, plain cream, hot chocolate, and oatmeal. For the price, can't complain. I've just stayed at other extended stays that were better.
1. doors where left open because you room keys would not work reported to front desk multiple times was told they where getting news doors but never did. 2. dryer was always broke had to get money back from front desk they said it was a new one I told them to send it back but never did kept putting note on it. 3.internet is very slow 4. tv would turn off in the middle of your show and had like 5 or6 channels of sports 2 channels that didn't have anything on them. 5. had to clean my own room sweep the floor and change my bedding and used my own towels
I stayed here for a week. Housekeeper with nasty dreads kept knocking on doors talking loudly on the phone. But when I walk past didnt even have common courtesy to greet me. Hotel is in bad shape. Maybe housekeepers need to stay off the phone and spend more time cleaning. Manager was nice and engaging, so were the girls up front.
Stayed two nights for an event in Columbia, but I think any longer wouldn't be a good thing. Check-in was fast and Ariel was nice. Although, she was constantly dealing with problems and issues on property when we were there. The side door had a bent frame and wasn't closing properly, so anyone could walk in. The stairwells and hallways smelled horrible. One stairwell smelled like urine. Our second night the second floor reeked of marijuana, which wasn't welcomed, but almost smelled better than what it did beforehand. Thankfully the room smelled okay. The insides of the heater were FULL of dust though and something that looked like construction debris, it was gross and my allergies went crazy. The bed and bedding was comfortable, but out of three pillows, only one was decent. The room was surprisingly clean, and that is the only reason it's getting a rating of three for me. The lighting in the room was horrible, we looked yellow and jaundiced, it hurt my eyes. And the one light when you first walk in was burned out, not good when you can't see where you're going. The room, however was large. You could fit four New York City hotel rooms in this one room. Thankful for iron/ironing board. The ONE thing I hoped to have in this room was a hairdryer. There wasn't one, I asked for one and Ariel said she wasn't sure if she could get to one, and that she'd try. Never heard back so I assume she couldn't get one. The advertisement boasts about these grab-and-go options, which is perfect for me, BUT the ads show tea and muffins, when the first day all they had was coffee and granola bars. I ended up at the gas station getting my tea and muffin. Second day we did manage a muffin, but we had to ask, still no tea. Wifi was decent. Toilet seat needs to be fixed or replaced (in room 216). If this was renovated, I'd hate to see what it was like before. Yikes. But overall, it was clean and the bed was comfy, so it gets a three rating from me.
