We arrived on Thursday at around 8:30p. We checked in, door dashed some dinner and my *then fiance* showered. A few minutes later, I opened the bathroom door and was hit with such a foul sewage smell, coming from our shower drain.
Friday, we left early to do a bunch of sight seeing. We came back around 1:30p and realized there was no water. We called the front desk to inquire. We were told “yeah we’re aware, we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you for the inconvenience.”
It wasn’t just an inconvenience. It was a sanitation issue. The bigger problem was that we were getting married the next day, which they knew.
We waited a few hours and then went down to the front desk to ask in person what was happening. There were several other guests clearly confused and upset in the lobby.
I was met by the assistant manager AJ at the front desk. I was polite and asked for an update on the water issue. I was met with an attitude and bluntness I did not appreciate. He told me he was aware of the issue and had no updates.
I explained that I had a pretty big situation — we were getting married the next day and it was pertinent we had water to shower. I was then told by AJ, “well it could be a day, or a week, until we have water. We don’t know.” Zero empathy. Zero problem solving. He acted like he gave no damns and couldn’t be bothered to help us.
We left and went to another hotel, thanks to Expedia’s help. That hotel needs shut down and inspected. And AJ needs a different job.
