Stayed in the Springhill suites for 2 nights and all in all, everything was fine. The rooms were clean and tidy, with plenty of space for storage and relaxation etc. However, the bathroom is the weirdest set up out of any hotel I've ever seen. It's a sliding door (unlockable) and the wardrobe area is in the bathroom too. No privacy. Would definitely want that changing if I were to stay here again. Breakfast was very good. Altered over the two days but was always good quality and suited everyone. Hot coffee was available throughout the day and evening too! All the reception staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is located right next to the I-275 with plenty of eating places within walking distance and a Walmart across the road!
Stained carpet and walls. Bed with a dip in it. Awkward room layout with the closet in the bathroom. Bikers hanging around outside the hotel. Sounds of the freeway right outside the window. And a price tag way too high. Surprised it's part of the Marriott family. Will not stay here again.
We chose this hotel for its convenience. We were in the Cincinnati area for my grandson's graduation from Miami/Oxford University. It was right off the freeway. We walked in, was checked in within 2 minutes and was into our room within 7 minutes. The room was clean. The pictures, bathroom and the mirrors were also clean. The carpet was just OLD, I could not tell if it was clean or not. The wallpaper was warm but dated. Many features of the hotel were dated. They did update the bathroom with the water-saving shower and sink. I really did appreciate they had installed sun blocking curtains and I could not hear the traffic from the freeway. My bed was sooo very uncomfortable. You coud tell it was an OLD mattress because it was extremely worn down on the right side of the bed. I could NOT sleep the first night. I made management aware of it and they offered to change my room and I countered that they replace my mattress or just turn it over. I was advised they turned it over and it was alright. I was able to sleep the remaining 2 nights we were there. The staff was always smilling and made us feel welcome. All and all, it was a nice stay.
The hotel has a really cool room setup, It's more like staying at a friends house then a standard hotel. The problem was that it was very busy, the elevator took forever to move. At breakfast it was sooo busy. I guess my biggest issue was the noise level. The windows must be paper thin, we were on the 6th floor facing the parking lot and I could actual hear people's conversation from my bed at 12:30 at night while I was trying to sleep. ALSO as an FYI to the hotel, you guys need to police your pool more, there was a bunch of IDOITS diving in the pool. (5 feet deep) Also you didn't have any tools by your pool. It was not a great stay.
I was up for the weekend with my family. The hotel had a modern lobby with a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious for a family of 6. Nice selection for breakfast. The front staff was very friendly and accommodating and eager in making my family's stay one to remember. Very happy with my stay there.
Chose this hotel for the proximity to our office. It is a typical SpringHill property, so I had expectations about what we were getting. Plus Side: the staff was very courteous and attentive, room was clean and continental breakfast fine. Minus side: the large pot hole in the parking lot that we had to avoid every morning, and the proximity to downtown, which I knew going in as well. If I come back for another meeting in our Cincinnati office, I will be back. Thanks
Good location. Close to shopping centers and good dining. About 20 min from downtown Cincinnati. I booked 3 rooms for a family Reds game. Used Mobil check-in and gold member. Rooms were not ready and mine was not even cleaned. Had to return to front desk and wait for a room. Not up to Marriott standards on cleanliness. Just Ok but reasonable priced compared to downtown.
Some brilliant designer finally turned the brain and creative cells on max. Layout is very different but wonderful. The colors and fabrics are soothing and relaxing. Some wood trim but not oppressive. Good separation between sleeping and living/working. Nice desk. Yummy walk in closet. Great amenities. Makes me wish I could move in for a week!
I'll just get right to the cons as the previous reviews have pros. Its imperative people know the flip side. TV- this is the first hotel I've been in that has the typical movie home screen but its just for show. While this may be inconsequential, there are some that this information matters to. Tip- if you are one of those that actually stay in the room, bring your own entertainment or suck it up. Bathroom- ever heard of a hotel without vents in the batroom? Well, now you have. The front desk staff politely informed me that none of the rooms had functioning vents. Still on the bathroom, the tub was also rusted. I thought hotel used plastic like tubs or at least rust proof... anyway, moving along... Tip- suck it up or ask to be moved. Just hope and pray (if you are the posting kind), that you get something better. Ventilation- there is none. My room had a dank atmosphere. How so? you may ask. At night, the AC shuts off. You heard me, it shuts off! In the heat of the summer! Anyway, this made us take more showers in our ventless bathroom. As advised, we were told to open the bathroom door so the room could absorb the moisture. Bear in mind that the room has no vents either and the ac is extremely tempramental. Tip- do not subject yourself to more than two nights of this torture. In their defence, with regards to the AC, I called the front desk and a lovely lady advised that we unplug and replug the unit after a couple of minutes and if it didnt work, then she would come right up. Well, it did not work. I didnt call back as that would have woken up my infant. So if you dont mind, suck it up. Bed- I signed up for a king, I got what must have been a full or queen. It was smaller than anticipated. I use a king at home so I know the difference. Additionally, the poor bed had seen some hardship. As a heavily pregnant woman, that gave me two sleepless nights. I didnt bother calling about it as it was just for two nights. Housekeeping- did not visit. When we got back, I was so dissapointed, I had to pack up the trash myself and place it just inside the door as I didnt want to be kicked out of the room for it to be cleaned. Tip- this is unacceptable. My tip, Scream bloody murder. Just kidding. I have no tip. I'm still thinking about this. Supplies- this hotel is really lacking. Anytime i asked for something, they had just put it on the list. I gave up and just went to Walmart. Breakfast- less than average. Let me contextualize. My son loves, loves, loves, scrambled eggs. I gave him a bite of this hotel's eggs and he spat it out. My hubby tried the boiled eggs and thought it did not taste quite right. If you like the smaller grained oatmeal, you'll choke on offering here. If you like 'em big, you'll be in nirvana. We enjoyed the bagel, yogurt and tea ( none of which was made in house.) But that's besides the point. I'll give an E for effort. Pros Staff- i think they work with what they have. I've never called front desk as many times as ive done in this hotel but despite the fact they never helped, not even once, they were pleasant about it. The funniest call was the one about the vents. The sweet lady told me that no rooms in the hotel had vents but she'll be happy to send maintenance up. I thanked her, asked her not to worry then hung up. I had a good hysterical laugh. Jeez! Microwave and fridge- this was a major plus for a mother with an infant. I check out this morning and will update this review with that experience. Maybe I'll take a picture of the trash I packed myself as well. I've got nothing else to do and it's just after 4am. Between the tired bed and the heat... I'm wide awake! Overall, I'll never recommend this hotel to my enemy if I had one, much less my friends or family, until it's upgraded. I am so mad at the level of discomfort. This was too much for any normal person. Who's ever heard of a guest cleaning up their room at a hotel?
Stayed here for 1 night. Good location, with many food options within the vicinity. Our two double-bed studio room was spacious, and generally clean. There were coffee maker, fridge and microwave, and a study/work table with power outlets. The study area was separated from the beds, very thoughtful design. Free wifi was good. Complimentary continental breakfast was good; we liked the fruit varieties. Staff was friendly. We were allowed early check-in as the room was ready. Our check-in and out was very fast. The only issue we had was the noisy A/C located next to the bed. Thankfully the weather was not too warm, so we could switch off the A/C for the night. Nonetheless, we would not hesitate to stay here again if we are in the area.
