Palmer House a Hilton Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

The check-in person asked if I wanted to pay $40 extra on a Saturday night (to a total of $239) for an executive room with a view. The room was not worth the extra money. If you have never stayed here you might enjoy the classic hotel experience it provides but I have stayed here many times and they are treading water.
Staff was fabulous, fabulous lobby bar & restaurants, great pool but the rooms are very small & a bit tired!
I had an all-around great experience at this hotel -- I recommend it highly! The lobby is outstandingly beautiful -- it feels like I was transported to another time and place!
you feel like you've gone back 100 years and are rich person of great importance. The hotel is grand and the prices are great
Easy access to Millennium Park (ice skating and Christmas Tree), Macy's, Kindlemart. Wonderful staff, tremendous breakfast buffet for the whole family...makes a great start to the day.
Excellent from most of the staff. 0nly problem was concierge. She gave me the impression I was bothering her. Too bad
I loved the lobby and the ambiance of the hotel but the room I stayed in had chipped paint and cracks in the bathroom ceiling. Disappointing relative to the Hilton brand.
Dirty and small rooms. Old and shabby furniture. No free internet access.
Near perfect hotel overall! Gorgeous lobby, breathing with history, large rooms, wonderful staff. Only drawback... has double beds instead of queens which I do not understand for a hotel this prominent. But the good far outweighs the bad.
Moce place but I had to pay an extra $25 to get onto the room early, before the chick in time of 3 pm. I asked them whether I'd get a $25 discount if I got there, say, at 6 pm
My room was very tiny with old furniture, a low ceiling, and bad lighting. After leaving, I discovered 6 bogus mini-bar charges on my bill. I was able to remove the charges with a phone call, but the charges shouldn't have been there in the first place. The laundry service is the most expensive I have ever seen in a hotel. I also had to pay a receiving fee at the in-house UPS Store for a FedEx envelope that I had sent to hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
Excellent location. Friendly staff, every amenity.
1920s opulence with 2010s comfort and convenience. Gorgeous frescoed lobby with art deco flourishes everywhere you look. Everything recently renovated and spotlessly maintained. Rooms spacious and very comfortable.
Also very close to public transportation so we can go around easily. It is good the hotel has also three different gate to convey us to many stores in different street .
Excellent location in the loop and close to Millennium Park. This is my second time staying at the classic and historic hotel. I took my mother who has never been to Chicago and she was in love once we hit the lobby. I tend to like more modern/updated hotels but the Palmer has so much character and the rooms have been updated nicely. When we checked in they had put us in the rooms behind the elevators which made a humming noise we thought would decrease at night but unfortunately did not, so the next day we requested a room change and were granted one without any fuss. Overall great stay and look forward to returning!
The location was great and close to transit centers to take us to where we needed to go.
we enjoy to stay at the "Palmer House". It was convenient location, short walking distance to everything
Very convenient to everywhere. Had a very good sleep there.
The Hilton did not provide free internet. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the top name in hotels and resorts worldwide to provide basic amenities. No wonder Airbnb is killing the hotel business--next trip will be back to Airbnb.
The hotel staff was excellent and the location was great. The only problems I had was the bathroom tub drain was full and stuff come up when you ran the shower, also I didn't see on the reservation stuff that we had to pay to park. When we pulled up to the hotel and asked about parking, he told us where to go and then the hotel would validate. Got to the reservation desk and we had to pay $44 a car! That will make me think again about staying at this location. I didn't plan on this, my mom had to pay for it, when she should of had to.we already paid $300 for 2 rooms!
