The property was not clean or well-maintained upon arrival—cobwebs in fixtures, hair in the shower, sticky residue on cabinets, dried contacts on the floor, and scuffed walls. The pool table was propped with cardboard. When I reported this, the host was dismissive and uncooperative, offering no resolution or compensation despite clear evidence the unit was not as advertised.
We found used contacts on the floor in one of the bedrooms

Family Gathering in Chicago

8 extended family members from 5 different cities met up with the 2 who lived a few blocks away from this great location. We walked to the beach and the Shedd Aquarium. The unseasonable heat wave prevented us from walking to others that were a short Uber away. The biggest negative of this unit was the balancing of the HVAC system. The AC would cool the living space very well, but the 4 bedrooms were all so hot as to make sleeping difficult. As much as we liked the location, we wouldn’t rent here again in the summer. While there was a nice complement of flatware and dishes (perfect for cereal breakfasts or eating carry out), the cooking implements (ie pots/pans) were inadequate for 8 guests (let alone the 12 possible in the unit). While the property manager responded quickly to communications, the accuracy and completeness of communication was poor. Examples include my brother-in-law and his kids getting rained on for 45 min at check-in because they provided the wrong lock-box codes, ultimately having us use a lock box for a different unit (contained common front door key), and then not notifying us when that unit was rented and we lost access to the key (necessitating more back and forth). The gym isn’t on property, info not provided at check-in and codes were missing. I forgot an item at property, cleaners either tossed it or took it. I expect more from a place at this price point. Good location, clean, and adequate plates/flatware aren’t enough at this price.

South Loop Gem

Nice 4 bedroom right inside the city! Loved the apartment and the property manager was really cool! It’s next to a VERY popular car wash (and the horns are consistent) #LightSleeperProblems
