Kimpton Hotel Allegro

Very comfortable hotel with a great location (right by the Blue Line for relatively quick trains to O'Hare). I also appreciate their happy hour and willingness to help out (it was raining quite hard and they were handing out umbrellas for use throughout the day).

Ok experience. The room was over priced. The valet fee was rediculous $70 to park my car on top of a $350 night stay in a average room. Staff was very friendly.

I booked 1 night in Kimpton hotel Allegro. I have a new car and just afraid to park too far from the hotel. That’s why I chose The Valley parking. I gave the car key to the parking person and went into the hotel. I returned to the front of the hotel to get my car back after an hour of checking in, and I saw that my car had many scratches at the front passenger side. I talked the manager of parking department he did some searches and denied the fact that my car was scratched by his staff. So now, I spent $63 for the parking valley and had the scratches on my car. They are not responsible for it. It is not recommended to stay in this hotel.

Got there around 6pm and checked in, when i got to the room it felt like being in a jail cell. Thek can’t make them smaller! Tried making an upgrade, but was denied. Called Orbitz and they could not help me. Checked out the next morning and moved to The Dana hotel and spa, which was amazing. Payed for the whole four nights at Allegro without using it. Almost forgot to tell you about the bathroom, the sink was almost inside the bathtub.

Great stay recently at the Kimpton Allegro! Staff was nice and friendly, the lobby was really beautiful and amazing fitness center. The main downside was how tiny the room was including the bathroom and you could tell a dog had been in the room, it smelled like strong dog poop. Walls were paper thin, I heard the guy next door snoring all night!

During our stay in Chicago I kept calling our hotel “Home”! It was phenomenal, everything from house keeping, staff, and the hotel room simply lovely oh and when you first step into the lobby there’s a lovely fragrance accompanied with beautiful upscale scenery! Must go back!

Great place to stay! Right next door to Cadillac Palace Theatre and connected to restaurant 312.

Everything good. Except the ridiculously heavy/hot quilt on the bed, in a room that had no other bedding options and virtually no control on temperature. Why do hotels offer only one outrageously heavy option on bedding. I for one could never stay in this place in the summer unless the AC made it like a meat locker. In fact, I would not go back in the winter due to the poor bedding options.

The hotel is very nice and well kept. Check in was great and our room was clean and very nice. The downside, The elevators are super slow and one of them was not working which made getting up-and-down difficult with all the people. It took us 40 minutes to get our car from the valet. I'm sure a lot of people check out close together but we were told 20 minutes and it took 40. I'm sure they can come up with a better system to speed up the process. Other than that our stay was great The elevators are super slow and one of them was not working which made getting up-and-down difficult with all the people. The hotel is a well decorated three star hotel at most. The front desk staff is rude (a guy named Kirby). Treating guest who book through orbitz like they are second class citizen. The room is tiny tiny and the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in my life. Two people will not be comfortable in this room. Do yourself a favor, stay in Kimpton Monaco (much better set up and room). The bed and bedding are comfortable. And the bathroom products smell great!

Great lobby and meeting area. Rooms were quaint and nice. Older hotel but kept up nicely

The hotel is decent but rundown for the price point, especially the elevators. Good location near the River and public transportation options

Nice hotel with a boutique vibe, rooms a bit on the small side but comfy. Central location close to important lines of public transportation.

Some construction going on at the hotel. Liked the Gray more than the Allegro.

The location is great and close to so many theatres and restaurants. But it's an older hotel so the rooms are very cramped and noisy. It's a charming hotel but not comfortable.

Easy in and out Klimpton Karma members receive free wifi Late check in Early check out quick shower No problems

We had a pretty good stay at the Kimpton Allegro, particularly given the price that we paid. The hotel has a fun, modern feel and the staff is very nice. We particularly enjoyed the social hour with free prosecco, the nice lobby area with plenty of lounge space, and the free coffee bar available in the morning. The rooms were also nicely decorated and in good condition. Our biggest issue with the Kimpton was noise, and I'm not sure that there is anything the hotel can really do about the problem. The walls are extremely thin--you can hear conversations, televisions and music. You can also hear the hotel staff when they start cleaning in the morning, it was difficult to sleep past 8am (not very fun on a Sunday morning). The rooms are also quite small. This was not a big for us because we didn't plan to spend a lot of time in our room, but if you want space to spread out and relax this might not be the place. Overall, this is a good place if you can get a deal (we only paid about $100/night). However, I would not pay much more given the noise and space issues.

We love the Allegro - so close to theaters, Macy's, Chriskindlemart, Grant Park and so much else. Love the décor, the bar and the happy hour. Great staff.

Great got upgraded to suite had wine in afternoon

There was a technical cliché when we checked in. However, the front desk upgraded us to a suite to compensate for the inconvenience. We were very pleased.

Hello Vanna, Thanks for taking time to provide feedback from your stay. We're sorry to see you weren't fully satisfied and I apologize for your experience with our valet service. Like most downtown hotels, we do not operate our own parking structure, so we have contracted a competitive rate for our parking services through a third party.

Hello Rafa! Thanks for taking time to provide feedback from your stay. We're sorry to see you weren't fully satisfied and apologize for the issue you experienced with your guestroom. We are a 100-year old building, so the rooms are on the smaller side due to the historic nature of the hotel. Should your travels bring you back to Chicago, we would suggest booking out our King Premier room as it will have the space you are looking for! Unfortunately an upgrade was not available when you arrived because the hotel was at maximum capacity. Thanks again for choosing our hotel and we hope to see you again in the future.
