Hotel Indigo Chicago Downtown Gold Coast

The Indigo has friendly and professional staff and I could walk to the destinations on my itinerary, but the room was dated, pillows limp, glasses in the room were dirty, and no pad and pen were available. I also had to look at a big stain on the hallway carpet each time I came and went.

Really enjoyed the location! Away from the crowds of downtown but within walking distance. Husband and I were able to rack up some good mileage on our Fitbits taking in the sites of Chicago over the course of 5 days!

Just spent my first night at Hotel Indigo in Chicago. We loved the location, very close to the red line made getting to Wrigley field easy. Great farmers market just down the street, and a lovely place for a stroll. Decor is bright and refreshing! Will come again!

Great location for walking to various hot spots, restaurants, etc. However, room was tiny, but, then again, so was the price. You get what you pay for. I've stayed at magnificent Hotel Indigo's in other cities. I was expecting the same type of large room with funky decor. I was wrong about the room, but right about the decor. Good news is that the internet speed is incredible compared to much better, higher priced properties. I had to do a lot of worked, so internet speed helped as my entire company is in the cloud. If you're on a budget, this actually is a nice place and excellent location. Just expect a very old property with small accommodations and you're set.

The room was very cold. The heating/cooling unit was right next to the head of the bed and just blew cold air. Also there were no blinds on the windows, only shutters and the light from outside still down through. It was difficult to sleep.

Very pleasant although brief stay. Comfortable room and amenities.

The Hotel Indigo is a cheaper hotel in a great neighborhood. My room was oddly shaped, with a tiny bathroom, and a small wardrobe, instead of a closet. No dresser in the room. Bench seat was stained. Floor was linoleum, printed in wood plank design. You stay here because you got a great deal, and you want to stay in a better part of the city.

Stayed over the weekend and must admit location of the hotel is great. We stayed on 7th floor and our room was very small.Bed was suppose to be queen size and it was not.Because walls are paper thin my girlfriend was not able to get any sleep from a loud couple next door. Our toilet was very slow on sucking the water out and bathroom was very small. For $217 a night we expected much more comfort. All this a side I advise you to be very careful with valley parking staff who was extremly rude and unproffesional. Our garage cost for 24h stay was $48.After I comfirmed with a front desk about our parking expiring at 2pm we checked out and went for a walk.We came even earlier according to front desk info at 1:10pm and tried to get our car.Valley staff in a very rude and unproffesional way stated that we need to pay $27 more.I asked why and they said we stayed longer than 24h.In very loud and arguing tone proceeded with their story even when I explained the whole mis communication they refused to listen and would not let us take our car until we payed $27 even though rate for 0-30 min late is $23.So after paying $75 for parking they let us have our car.I went to the front desk and explaind everything again and they did not want anything to do with it claiming they are separate from each other even though hotel charged us $48 for the parking and they have it on their website.Overall very bad experience!!

It's not a bad hotel, but it's definitely showing its age. Also, maybe what didn't help our stay was the day before we arrived they changed management companies. But for the price I expected more. For example, the air conditioner unit's faceplate was on the floor because it had fallen off, and we tried to fit it back on but it kept falling off. (Air conditioning worked fine though). And the housekeeper never put shampoo in our bathroom, but we had conditioner, and the soap was never replaced after running low after 3 nights. (She also never called in the air conditioner faceplate being broken because it was neatly stacked by the A/C unit itself after returning home in the afternoon. That being said, it wasn't a terrible stay, and for us it was one of the only options in Gold Coast when we searched, but I thought it was priced a little high for the value. Front desk staff was always friendly, especially the overnight shift guy.

Hotel was nice, it's on the gold coast, which is a nice side of town. But some of the wallpaper looks aged in the room and there's only one floor where guests can get ice.

Nice neighborhood, quiet. Outside the hustle and bustle of downtown

I tend to like smaller hotels. Guests seems friendlier and you get to meet some interesting people. This hotel is in a quiet residential area but very close to restaurants and the MagMile shopping.

Good experience. Clean rooms. Nice view from the 8th floor.......

The hotel was great! However, there was a very obnoxious guest in an adjacent room who was in the hallway yelling profanities several times at 3 am. Not necessarily the hotels fault but that was our only negative experience.

This is my second stay at this hotel. I love the decor, the location is perfect, and its a great value. The only issue I had this visit is that one of the two elevators was out of commission, so there was a long wait each time. But otherwise, it was great and I recommended it to a friend who booked a room right after!

The hotel wasn't terrible but I wouldn't stay here again. The room was dirty, stains on the wall and the water turned off as I was taking a shower. There are much nicer hotels in the area for the same if not less amount a money.

The hotel was great, clean and beautiful! Nice rooms and clean, comfortable beds. However, no parking and to park was an additional $47 !!!!! I guess it shocked me. Also, a Continental breakfast would have been nice.

This was our second stay at the Indigo. It's location is great, in the quieter and slower paced Gold Coast within blocks from bus stops and the Red Line stop on Division. The room is small and needs work, but it was comfortably arranged and did not cause any issues. The staff greeted us with smiles every time we had interaction. The Third Coast, three doors toward Goethe, has good food and better martinis. The Hash House a Go Go serves a nice variety of huge breakfasts. There are many other restaurants and bars in the area that can satisfy almost any taste in food and beverage. There is a CVS at Clark and Division that has a good selection of wines and liquors.

Rooms were small, staff was stuffy, and the shower didn't drain, but overall it was an easy stay .

The Hotel Indigo is in one of the nicest areas in Chicago. I was able to find free parking on the street, around Astor street, which was clutch. The 24 hour parking in the garage next door is $45, and there is another garage that is about $26 a couple blocks away. The hotel room was very nice. I loved the aquarium feel of it. Our coffee maker, unfortunately, was missing a piece for brewing the coffee, but we just used the coffee pod as a tea bag and it was fine. Otherwise, I have no complaints at all!
