The hotel dining was exceptional. We had breakfast twice, both lunch and dinner once. The food was excellent.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel des Ilea Borremees for one night at the end our trip through Italy, where we were celebrating our niece’s birthday. It was also her first international trip. When we checked in we mentioned this to the front desk manager, Luca, and he proceeded to treat us like royalty. His enthusiasm and generosity made our stay so special. The hotel itself is beyond words, dripping with opulence and glamour. Every inch is decorated with frescos, antiques, crystal chandeliers, gold leaf, statues, etc. It’s difficult to take it all in at first glance, but it’s oh so wonderful. The spa, gym and pools, which have recently undergone a $30 million dollar renovation, is excellent. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to use the spa services but we did use the high tech gym. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the lake and was just spectacular. The beds were comfy, and the shower and bathroom amenities were great. Every floor of the hotel has a different theme and decor, and ours was Grecian art. The included breakfast buffet had everything one could want… eggs, cheeses, smoked salmon, cereals, multitude of breads, creamy made to order cappucino, fresh pressed juices, etc. and was delicious. We have travelled all over the world and stayed in many 5 star hotels but this one takes the cake! Can’t wait to return.
